SweetSue's Perpetual 3.0 - The Hempy/HB Hybrid Grow

Thank you Scottay. :hugs:  The lemony chemovars intrigue me. Glad you're getting the chance to enjoy one. :hugs:

The perlite disaster was a great learning lesson, and it managed to bring my garden down to more manageable levels. In the end it turned into a good thing.

Hey, there you are....:hugs: :hugs: :hugs: We've missed you. Good to have you around again. Will you continue growing?
Ofcourse I will keep growing! Now, I hope that becomes legalised here too. If it does become legal here (Yeah you are allowed to have 5 plants but only if they're grown in green houses or outside) Then I'll try to become a retailer of Green Planet nutrients. It reminds me of the old gold rush, everyone wanted to strike it rich by finding gold, but the real people who strike it rich were those who sold the mining equipment. It's the exact same with Cannabis

congrats Sue,:goodjob:

Thanks Hash Hound. :hugs:

:laughtwo: Still grinnin' ear-to-ear. That Silver Fox is a dream. I still can't believe it. Lol! What a wonderful day. :battingeyelashes:

Time to get this posted.

Harvest: Dark Slide (Day 120, flip + 51)

I feel like I never gave this one a fair chance, so how sweet of her to gift me with the lovely buds she did.

She came to a very inglorious end, poor dear. Harvested in a rush to contain the powdery mildew. There were signs of it on leaves all through the plant. When I stripped the fans off I was careful to dispose of any that had spots.

Beautiful, wasn't she? I was planning on another two weeks, at least. Next one I'll handle with more attention and care.

IMG_499617.JPG

The branches got thoroughly washed in a stronger than normal solution of H2O2.

IMG_499812.JPG

Rediculously thin branches. Next time....

IMG_499912.JPG

A frosty little darling. Cutting the buds off into the bags I was struck more than once that she had a slight smell of rotting meat. Lol! I remember the gypsy mentioning this smell with one of his, but I'm unsure of which one.

IMG_50036.JPG

IMG_50044.JPG

The salvaged leaves. The rest went into the trash, tightly wrapped to avoid any possible spread of the mildew that should have been neutralized by the peroxide. Never hurts to be overly cautious.

IMG_50086.JPG

I kept a couple tiny buds to dry on the quantum boards.
IMG_501210.JPG

While I was over there I found the pieces of Carn 4.2 that I'd left and forgotten. :slide: Fresh Carnival. :woohoo: The day keeps getting better. Lol!

IMG_501310.JPG

I made some notes for the next attempt. I'll find a way to fix that spindly branch problem before then.

IMG_50198.JPG

Another one down, and the grow comes even closer to where I want it to be. This has been the most delightful day in a long time. I can't think of but a couple events that could have made it better.

I was thinking, in the past year I've dealt with thrips, mites, viruses, bud rot, and powdery mildew. And that's just in the area of plant health and pest control. Lol! It has been an adventure. :laughtwo:

I made some Carnival brownie oil today, and in the morning I'll mix the pan up and pop it into the oven to start the day with fresh brownies. *contented sigh*

Thank you all. I'm so humbled and so happy. I should sleep well tonight. I'm beginning to wear down pretty fast.

Goodnight.

I love reading your posts, they are so joyous and thankful. Those frosty big buds are a beautiful green with the lovely frost on top - you have really done a great job. In my home country we would say 'thats a credit to your hands'.
On a seperate question, how long do you put your buds in the Dehydrator for ? Do you then pop them in to Mason Jars ? I am nearing the end of my first grow and I am wondering how best to cure my buds. Naturally I would like some buds asap, as I have no Cannabis at all at present, but I don't want to destroy all my hard work by doing something stupid.

You'll be wanting a 2:1. THC:CBD ratio Morglie. Capsules will be the best, and the recommended route of administration would be deeply inserted suppositories, which would get the cannabinoid load directly to the liver. In this case you'll be wanting to use coconut oil, to assure the cannabinoids do go to the liver first. You'll also want to be practicing competitive inhibition, 2 Apignen capsules 30 minutes before each and every dose.

Cajun has it all laid out in his cancer protocol thread. We've made a couple small adjustments, refining the biobombs and encouraging more of the dose to be administered through the suppositories, with less of an oral dose than was originally recommended, but that's something we can help you work out.

Cajun's gone missing, but he left us an excellent template and we have a faithful crew that mans the thread, so I recommend anyone with cancer looking for guidance go to the thread and at least read the first four to five pages, then jump to the current page and engage us directly.

A Base Treatment Regimen for Cancer

No guarantee, but this is the regimen that Cajun used to eliminate his own liver cancer. That's the best testimony I can offer.
Thank you Sue. I'll start digging through Cajun's thread. Critical cure is a 2:1 I believe and I have a tiny one in veg.

I haven't really read a lot so I am still a lot behind but the important question comes now: HOW IS EVERYONE DOING!!?? It's been a while since I've talked to you guys and I would love to hear and see a lot more of you guys!

Oh and one last thing... It's a lot more foggy than the last time I came in here, have you guys been smoking something? No? Hmmm, that must be my head again. It does feel a little bit like home... Oh I love you guys. ANYWAY! I'M GLAD TO BE BACK!! (Let's hope I don't disappear for 4 months again after tomorrow)

Cheers Rik, Good to see ya back :ciao:

Thank you WoundedKnee. I do my best. :battingeyelashes:

I do the initial dehydrator run for 48-50 hours straight on the lowest setting. For this stage I keep buds on the branches, cutting them down to size to fit. Then I trim the buds from the branch pieces into a jar with a hygrometer. Depending on my mood, the time I have until I need the buds, and how I'm feeling at the time, I'll either toss them back into the dehydrator for another 1-3 hours, checking to see if they've gone hard on the outside again. Or use rice to finish.

I keep a batch of rice around that was cooked for 45 minutes at 200 degrees F. It's devoid of almost all moisture and will pull the humidity out of the buds. This is still in the learning stage, but so far it's allowed me to get the buds down to 65-62% RH by the end of the day, following the initial 50-hr dry. The low and slo thread has detailed info on how that part is developing.

If they go back into the dehydrator instead you want to do so in smaller and smaller spurts. As soon as I determine the surface is hard to the touch I pull them, place them in a jar and check the humidity levels after an hour, and then again in another hour. You'll know if the levels are too high by then. For a final determination of the RH in the jar leave it sealed with the hygrometer inside overnight. You'll be surprised at how much moisture is still bound up in the plant cells.

The final time you take them out of the dehydrator they should be around 65-70 % humidity max. Then you air them out for an hour a day in a darkened room with decent humidity until they stabalize. From there it's cure as you normally do. The originator of this process airs his buds for 30 minutes a day for the first month. I don't bother with that, but I do burp them every couple days for a while.

I'm much more casual about the cure than most. It serves me well. :battingeyelashes:

The discussion of my hybrid drying method begins with this post, but the discussion of the process started about ten pages or so before this one.

Read over the process and pepper us with questions until your angst is relieved. I've done four harvests in the dehydrator so far I believe, and every one has given me great product.

Good morning everyone:Love:

The apartment smells strongly of brownies. :dreamy:

IMG_503917.JPG

Carnival brownies, of course. :cheesygrinsmiley: The hardest part is waiting for them to cool enough to remove from the pan. :laughtwo:

Taking the time to make them meant I missed out on the sunshine, something of a disappointment, but it's hard to be unhappy with easy access to a river trail, regardless of the weather. It's the walk that restores me. Sunshine is a bonus. Hopefully the skies will clear while I'm out.

What a day yesterday, eh? Woke up with a wider grin than normal. Hehe! I'm just getting drenches started and stopped to check out the inhabitants of the tiny closet.

IMG_503817.JPG

Malawi is fully cloudy. I'll be keeping a close eye. She should have weeks to go, but with the damage to her root zone, I wouldn't be surprised if she finishes earlier than normal.

IMG_503616.JPG

Ultra Dawg 1.1 is in her harvest window. I'm trying to make myself wait until I have at least ten percent amber. I tend to jump the gun on my harvests. I'd like to see what I get in effect if I wait a bit longer. That Chem Dawg J grows is wicked potent. It'd be nice to duplicate that euphoric effect in the UD.

IMG_50159.JPG

IMG_501614.JPG

She's fully cloudy too, but so far the only red tones are reflections of the changing hairs.

I'll keep flushing her until I see amber trichomes.

On with the joyful day. Do have one of your own. The emotional tenor of the day is entirely in your hands. I'd like to encourage you to deliberately default to joy. See if that makes a difference. Got a disturbing thought? One that just doesn't feel good? Set it aside and deliberately choose another thought, any one will do, as long as it makes you feel better. Why choose to feel bad, when you have control over your thoughts? Feeling good brngs tremendous health benefits, and by gosh, the older you get the more important that becomes. Lol!

Until later, my friends. :ciao:

Devil's Carnival is creeping up on her own harvest window.

IMG_505314.JPG

I'm not seeing much new movement, although there is some going on, just sporatic and scattered around the plant.

IMG_504612.JPG

Pulling out the loupe I noticed a new twist with the clone that didn't show up in the mother. The trichome stalks on the tops ate filling with red oil. :yahoo: :slide: :yahoo:

IMG_504915.JPG

Lots of cloudy, but lots of clear still too.

IMG_50501.PNG

IMG_50511.PNG

You can see some of the red stalks off to the right. As far as I can determine, it's only the very tops that get the red oils. This is a common trait in the Dark Devil Auto. I simply didn't notice it in the mother, I suppose. How cool is this? :laughtwo:

IMG_505619.JPG

I'm off to take a walk, now that drenches are done and I've pulled myself away from the fascination of the trichomes. Lol! Catch you later. :ciao:

You have some nanners on this one

IMG_505411.JPG

Hey MagicJim, thanks for pointing that out. I'd never have noticed that myself but having looked I'm pretty sure I can see them (over to the left just above the highest sugar leaves, yes?). If I'm right, I'm happy to have learnt something ..

.

Some very nice pics there Sue. Beautiful.

Cheers.

Thank you so much sir. :battingeyelashes: I have some nice ones coming up at the end of this post. Hope they bring the same warm feeling. :hugs:

Awesome photos s usual. Really looking forward to your Ultra Dawg harvest. They all look great.

The fragrance of this chemovar is so heady and intoxicating that I have a hard time walking away from her. :laughtwo: Shell be down within a week, by my standard.

I do notoce that you like to harvest your plants when most of the trichomes are milky and a few amber. I don't know why but I prefer my plants to be 50% milky and 50% amber :D

You must be looking for cannabis to slow you down at the end of a long day. I'm looking for energetic lightheartedness. I don't want much amber at all.

You have some nanners on this one

IMG_505411.JPG

Jim.....you never cease to amaze me. It might be time to harvest this's one. I'll get the nannies off and flush her tomorrow.

Nanners....... what else can I experience in this grow? :laughtwo: We sure are learning a lot, aren't we?

The room doesn't have complete darkness. I'm seeing how much that can effect, aren't I? :battingeyelashes: Notebti self; Devil's Carnival likes darkness in flower.

I don't think I've really seen much more than 10% or 20% on them. They don't amber up much in my world... but my world is a touch odd.... so take that for whatever it's worth.

Good to know. She's about as cloudy right now as any plant I've harvested. Usually I take them with a fair amount of clear.

too true. they look closed but still where there is one. could be Rodelization and the end of its life reaction:rip:.......

really nice looking and dense grouping trich in the shots, luv the red stalks. oil colors are yummy and fun to look at :surf:

Maybe I won't take those nanners off at that...... Hmmm..... let me think on this as I walk home.

Thank you keltic. I'm always looking for that shot that'll catch your eye. I think I found a few today. :battingeyelashes:

In Celebration of Malawi

She's gotten a lot of bad press lately. I need to make it up to her. The drench Graytail suggested worked wonderfully. She's an explosion of new growth. I'll just step aside and let her speak for herself. This chemovar is a challenge to capture in photo form. Hope you enjoy. :green_heart:

Great pics Sue - what are you using to get your close closeups?

.

I use a jeweler's loupe Dale once bought for fossil hunting Amy. When I get home I'll post a picture.

Hey MagicJim, thanks for pointing that out. I'd never have noticed that myself but having looked I'm pretty sure I can see them (over to the left just above the highest sugar leaves, yes?). If I'm right, I'm happy to have learnt something ..

.

Learning is good. I enlarged the area for you. Now....more learning. What to do?

I'd just take these off the plant to protect the other females. This one is near harvest and not likely to waste any plant energy developing seeds. The buds still develop and retain their potency.

Other girls could get pollinated earlier in their lives and might waste energy in seed development.
