SweetSue's Perpetual 2.0 - The Transition To Doc Bud's HBB Kit

Since everyone's definition of enormous will differ because it's a very subjective term, I add this photo to let you know what I mean with that term. Can you see my hand all the way down there?

Size and staging.... :laughtwo: I'm so gullible DeVille that it took me until I started growing to realize they were all staging those photos.

Oh!!!! UPS is here!!! :yahoo:

two 160's give you 800 real watts (compared to HPS), same as a 320 in other words. There is no doubt two of them beats a 1200

.
Those pro series work alright, have 2 of the 160's and a 1200. I thought the 1200 was little better than 2 of pro series. My problem was heat, they put more heat out than my hps. That was reason I only used 1 grow. Budmaster or clw makes the best blurples, they use osrams

After harvest. No staging here - The enormous bud got slightly light bleached as I ran out of roof-space.

I rather have many non huge buds than a few big buds like I had latest run. I did not grow for quantity but speed as I was out of stuff to medicate myself with. I won't get any buds near that size this time as I am doing scrog. Instead I will have hundreds of smaller buds everywhere filling up a net. This growing-method doesn't look as dramatic or half as impressive of course but gives you 3 times bigger yield. Not a hard choice to make

I grow for oil. It's all about quality trichomes, and as many of them as you can get. Having a multitude of smaller buds makes perfect sense to me. I'll have to revisit the scrog idea. I have a 2x2 one sitting in the box.

think scrog is one of the more efficient ways of getting a uniform canopy with similar sized buds. But the eternal question of how to get the canopy even continues to riddle us all I guess. Even with scrog it's a challenge. Especially if you grow more than one strain per grow-space.

That's exactly the effect I'm working to achieve within the confines of the pot. In essence I'm scrogging without the scrog, aren't I?

It doesn't take much time to do this, and the pins come out before flower, with small exception.

I don't grow for oil. Did make some now and then with alcohol, but never was satisfied with the results. I believe that this is a field where you could teach me a thing or five thousand. I should at least do it with the cuttings.

I do make the occasional canna-butter though for edibles. I wonder if it's possible to use cream instead as I have this incredible waffle recipe I would love to transform into a cannabis edible. The recipe however doesn't contain butter so I believe it's needed to induce the THC into cream somehow.... Anyone knows how?

I enjoy the challenge of achieving a flat canopy and watching it mature and hold its integrity. :cheesygrinsmiley:

Indeed you are. That's scrog without a net alright :) A net allows you to make use of 100% of the grow-space however so you would get rewarded even more at harvest day. Am doing a scrog right now - 100x180cm net under 1600 watts. It's challenging right now because one strain is growing so much faster than the other one. I just allowed the more agressive strain to take over a bigger percentage of the net. But I see it keeps growing faster also during bloom.

I would not buy a Mars II now. And the 1200 is in reality only 512 watt. They're going out of production soon. The Pro II series are superior in every way to their old lamps.

Good point i have a marsll 1200w sat doing nothing, not even took it out of the box yet. :passitleft:

I used the hell out of Amazon Prime and I am amazed at how many of those boxes arrive looking like someone used them to play baseball with. I had a big T5 that was labeled fragile and even said what it was....and it was beat to shit. Not sure what would make people treat packages that way.

lol I repair, sell and install commercial laundry equipment, and I have lost count of the number of pieces that have shown up with the hole from a fork lift blade through the entire machine....and the driver always gets all pissy when I refuse to accept delivery?? o.O

Wow DeVille, that's absolutely beautiful. I see what you mean, she's running away with the vertical space too, and that'll challenge the light placement, won't it?

One of the chief advantages I have with all this lovely light Dan gifted me with is how the plants don't seem to get stressed if they're what would be considered too close. Once I flip them I tend to step back and just enjoy the ride.

I'm going to have huge challenges with light position. I may put the 80's in there instead of one of the 320's to be able to combat that. That way I can have 5 lights at 5 different heights instead of only 2. But I use 4 yoyo hangers on the lamps, allowing me to position them in any desired angle to help put the light where it's most needed.

Here's a week's time later. Here you can see it's going to be a big challenge. So I'm thinking to replace the lamp to the right with 4 80's instead. That should solve it more or less. Since I am lucky enough to have two grow-spaces very soon, I am considering to do single strain grows to not have to deal with this issue. But then again - I love having many strains at once.

I also got some stretching issues on the left side due to me not raising the lamp in time.

Well, she posed right pretty there, didn't she? :battingeyelashes: :green_heart:

I've considered monoculture. I did finally pin down three strains that I usually grow, and that's helped in building a relationship of understanding with those strains. I have the hempy pots to help me explore other options. They keep showing up. :laughtwo:

For some reason the rain forest site is glitching and I can't order my ProMix HP, now that I have the cash in hand. How exasperating! I need to get this soil mixed and cooking, darn it all anyway! :laughtwo: That's me, stamping my foot in a virtual field. Lol!

I suppose there's a reason the site is glitching now. I'm tempted to try to find it locally, but not having a vehicle makes that challenging, and the nearest place I've found so far is in Cranberry, PA, quite a stroll from where I am. Hmmmm..... Guess someone in the cosmos has other plans for me today.

I got some there a couple weeks ago. :circle-of-love::peace:

Every time I try to go to a product page I get an error page instead. This is where I've always ordered from.

Got through. :cheesygrinsmiley: Now I'm stuck waiting to hear back from the friend who lets me use his Prime account. :laughtwo: Don't want to surprise him with 3.8 cubic feet of sphagnum. Lol!
