SweetSue's Perpetual 2.0 - The Transition To Doc Bud's HBB Kit

Waiting for 8 new lights myself so know that feeling. Hoping 4 of them will be in my hands by Friday, but fear Monday is more realistic. The final 4 I'm not expecting until the end of the month. Hopefully sooner.

Congrats with new light :) Hope you'll get it tomorrow

Dammit! Missed the UPS guy by three minutes! Sometimes living in a secure building is a hassle, but one I'll gladly deal with. Rats!!!! I wanted to see these lights today. :laughtwo:

I guess I'll go take that walk along the river then. :cheesygrinsmiley:

Joy my friends. Find it anywhere you can and share it generously at every opportunity. :hugs:

I hanged out here for almost a year before I even made a post. Carefully considering how risky it would be to do a public journal of something the authorities think of as a serious crime. It's kinda funky you know. But if you follow some basic rules I guess it's safe.

I don't regret I started doing journals in here. They're also great learning tools for yourself and others. If you ever run into trouble, help is never far away in here. I learned most of what I know from growing the couple of years I've been here. Before 420 I hardly knew what I was doing. Now I am growing sone of the finest cannabis I have ever smoked.

Are you considering a grow journal of your own? There's no better way to get deep into the membership and develop lasting friendships than to run your own yard, but the energy isn't for everyone.:hugs:

Mine are Quantum light boards. I'm so freaking excited DeVille, I can hardly contain it. :laughtwo:

Keeping myself entertained with new additions. :cheesygrinsmiley: May I present my first Thin Mint Girl Scout Cookies.

Welcome little one

She had herself caught inside the Rapid Rooter. :thedoubletake: I wondered what happened to her so I went looking and rescued her.

IMG_74344.JPG

Then I planted her in her temporary home with a small amount of Osmo Plus in the top few inches. In a week she'll be transplanted into her new home with more osmo. I'll empty another vinegar bottle for that. I like the size and heft of the vinegar bottles. The wider base gives me more stability, but the 2 liter bottles make a good jumping off point.

Thank you Tead, for enticing me with hempy pots. :hugs::hugs::hugs:

She's part of a new community grow started by livetoskate81. It's buried in the wrong forum right now, but that should change soon. Mods have been contacted. If anyone's interested in joining it can be found here

Cool about the GSC mint thingy :) Gonna try to grow The Bulldog seeds take on GSC - "Girl scout cookies extreme" they named it and their version is quite unique. You see, the data say: THC 15-20% - CBD 5-10% - Indica 80% Sativa 20%

Sounds like a good painkiller to me. I like those datas

Regarding lights. I get 4 of these

They pull 200 watt each from the wall, so a total of 800 watt (during bloom - around 350 during vegg). What I like about these compared to the ones I own now (same lamps only 4 Mars pro II 80's equal 1x Mars pro II 320) is how you can put them together in much more flexible ways than before.

Then I also am waiting for 4x Mars bar 48 - 60cm light-bars for the sides of the tent. Hoping they'll make a big difference even if they're only pulling 50 watt each. All in all the 8 lamps will pull 1000 watts from the wall. Will put them in a 120x120x200 tent. Should be the perfect setup for scrog I believe. Am very interested in finding out how much difference these side-bars can make. I have big hopes. And I can think of a million other uses as well - for example the windows in the house - for house-plants. Perfect for keeping your house green during the winter. they're full spectrum and would easily fit inside a closet, so I guess they'll work for cloning as well. That I intend to test of course

I would not buy a Mars II now. And the 1200 is in reality only 512 watt. They're going out of production soon. The Pro II series are superior in every way to their old lamps.

Will a marsll 1200w not be cheaper? They rock a 4x4

Another advantage with the pro II series is that they're so streamlined and easy built, you can exchange any broken part at home. No soldering or any electronic knowledge needed. You only need to be able to operate a screw-iron. And Mars-Hydro allow the customers to repair the lights themselves, making the pro II series a good long term investment.

You bet :) I was actually worried when I switched from HPS to LED about cold. But I had nothing to worry about. I own 3 of those Pro II 320's. They pull 800 watt each from the wall and they generate quite a bit of heat. But damn they're efficient.

I kinda like Mars-Hydro. I was complaining the other day about how cold it gets in the garage I keep the grow-tent in, and now their engineers are working on finding some solution for keeping the tent hot. Wonder what they come up with :) And after hearing so many horror stories about how horrible their customer service was, I was quite worried when one of my lights broke the other day. But all the things I've read seems to be written by people with unrealistic demands. I had such an opposite experience I felt I had to write a short review so folks could see how it actually works in reality :) They were actually very helpful. The language can be challenging but other than that top notch. Review of Mars-Hydro customer service

And my apologies Sue. I see keep blabbering on here in your thread :) I don't mean to be rude. Just very high right now.

Those 10w chips run very hot. Each of those lights will pull ~160ish and a fair bit of that is going to heat...though I guess heat is a good thing where Santa lives :)

You waited long enough for the lights to dramatically improve DeVille. :high-five: I appreciate flexibility, and it looks like someone at Mars-Hydro figured out the market was there. 1000 watts from the wall should make quite a difference in bud production. You must be tickled pink with excitement to start the first plants under all that indoor sun.

Sara has always taken care of us here with Mars issues. Most of the complaints are from people who arent willing to install the new part themselves and get offended that it costs money to ship a light back and forth.

I've been using their pro series since they released their first with remote controller. Sadly a buggy software in the remote controller made that one into a quite failed product for them I think, but I am super happy with it. It allows me to adjust the spectrum myself depending on the needs. And I found the hack to the remote was to remove the batteries after you program the lamp, and then the lamp will be rock steady. I found out the remote kept sending signal until the batteries almost died out, then reset and at the same time reset the lamp. That made me lose my first Harvest with LED, but thought me all I needed to know about re-vegging. The Pro II series are in reality a Pro I series without remote controller. They replaced it with vegg and bloom buttons.

The 320's are huge and heavy, so I totally appreciate this new flexibility of their 80's. The remote controller is btw coming back in their future lamps Sara told me. But next time they'll probably let you use your own phone as remote controller via an app

Sara is cool. Several times I have sent her ideas for improvements to their products and they take them to their engineers and implent them if possible. I like how they listen to us growers before they make the products. They always keep asking their customer for ideas for improvements.

I'm impressed that faced with a frustrating situation you turned it into a learning experience that benefited you. Says alot about the man.

Thanks for kind words Sue. Made me smile and think back - Every grow will have it's own challenge in one way or another. And sometimes shit happens. You can either lay down and be sad (which I did for a moment of course) or figure out how to make the best out of the situation. The plant had already started re-vegging, so I salvaged what I could of buds. They were not super-potent or anything, but a good smoke. Was also surprised with how much the re-vegg yielded. Think it yielded more than a normal grow, but am not sure. At least not less

I'm sitting on the washer as it spins (old building that's shake to pieces if I don't weigh it down :cheesygrinsmiley:) thinking about this post from Tead's thread that Rifleman left earlier today.

I don't know that I get any higher from the dda than any of the other eight strains I have on hand, but for sure it's the only one that doesn't slit the throat of my motivation. Even my sativas tend to leave me with a desire to do nothing but float along. With the dda I'll actually look for stuff to do...AND get it done. ;)

Why think about this post? Let me explain. I came home from my walk and when it came time to take the next capsule I reached in for the CBD Critical Cure ones and my hand hesitated and went instead to the DDA jar. Mmmmm, I was just thinking it was time for a change. I wasn't thinking about Luke's post.

Now, as I wait for the washer to stop gyrating I'm going over the list of chores I've knocked off in the past couple hours on this capsule. Let me assure you, I'm no domestic diva. The house stays clean, mostly because I live alone and I do keep it orderly. But I could care less about spotless, and if a chore can be put off I'll gladly go that route. I work hardest on harvest days, and then I treat myself to a couple days of extreme indulgence as a reward. What I've accomplished today impresses me. :laughtwo: The washer is full of pots that needed washed. They've been waiting for this moment for months. Lol!

Luke's right, there's something special about this strain. Right now I feel like I'm speeding, but without the frantic edge. I'm in constant motion, and have been since 30 minutes into the dose.

Whew! Who'd of thought less than a ml of infused oil could be this potent?

With a reveg you already have that nice root ball, so they put all the energy into shoots and buds. I haven't tried yet. Can't wait for the opportunity though. I'm tempted to try a hempy, switch from Osmo Plus to bottled nutes at harvest.

I've cried and screamed a time or two. :battingeyelashes: I tend to do that right out in the open. The members have been gracious in those moments. :circle-of-love:

A glimpse at a portion of what the motivation garnered from the DDA caused to happen. :laughtwo:

Not pictured below is the two large plants I drenched and the hempy pots that all got watered, plus the Thin Mint Cookies that got planted. Or did I do them earlier? :hmmmm: I'm losing track. Lol!

I washed all the dirty fabric pots, which included taking them outside and beating the dirt out of them first. Also filled the water bottles that were empty. Distilling of water never stops in my home anymore. :laughtwo:

Rearranged the grow spaces in the living room.

Jarred up the tiny bit of DDA6 that was finally dry.

The stove in the background got scrubbed cleaner than it's been in months, and I scrubbed the bathtub out, something I've been putting off too long.

I'm making tuna salad, baking a sweet potato, and getting ready to test this small piece I kept out. :cheesygrinsmiley:

I love this strain. It fires me up like nothing else and I get super-productive. Lol! Tasty too.

Time to get the tuna salad finished. :ciao:

Well hello and good morning 8jugger8. :welcome: to my joyful journal and to the :420: community. I hope you're finding your way around without much trouble. If there's anything I can help you with you have only to ask.

Are you considering a grow journal of your own? There's no better way to get deep into the membership and develop lasting friendships than to run your own yard, but the energy isn't for everyone.

Pull up a seat and make yourself at home. I have a happy group gathered and they'll be as pleased as I to make your acquaintance. :hugs:

Thank you Sue, it is a happy place around here. A grow journal is quite likely, I'll let you in on it once I pull together some equipment, seeds and a plan of some sort. There are so many excellent growers here, my "philosophy" is a little scattered at the moment. In the end I just want a successful grow and rather sooner than later. :-)
