SweetSue's Perpetual 2.0 - The Transition To Doc Bud's HBB Kit

Yours do look like they need more time. I take my cuttings either right before flowering or at day 14-15 of flowering. This is the first time I tried taking them when they were that deep into flowering, but it looks like they'll be the perfect size by the time I harvest their mothers, so this may become my default method. I'm still watching closely, because you have to force them back into veg and I'm not certain yet how that'll go with my scheduling, but Dave Groomer made it look too easy to not try.

Keep me posted. I've been reading this thread about flowering clones and would love to know what you think.
What is a flowering clone?

I guess the advantage being that only a small cloning space is needed vs a large place to keep mothers. Eventually, I plan on a perpetual setup with clones/seedlings, veg, and flower. Not there yet, though - since I'm easing in and slowly gathering equipment.

That was a brilliant read! Thank you so much for sharing. I'm going to take another cutting off my hempy Carnival at day 21 and see what difference it makes from the ones taken at day 14. I can see how this would be more beneficial. Hmmmmm...... This is getting interesting.

Hash Hound is coming by sometime after The Quantum boards arrive next week and we're going to talk about ways to improve the veg shelf. I can see a need for more shelf space for the many clones. :laughtwo: I'm thinking this shelf might be a better choice. It's 6' long and I have some 2x4s we could use to build an enclosure.

So many possibilities. :dreamy:

I almost cried watching that, because I can relate to her so much. :( Every three months, a neurologist does 32 injections in my forehead, entire skull, base of the neck, and shoulders. And it doesn't work like they had hoped!

Can't wait for harvest time to finally get some relief. :partyboy:

I'm hoping to make arrangements to share my old soils with the local community garden, but that's a tricky thing to negotiate.

"So Susan, what were you growing in all this soil you're throwing out that still grows such lovely produce in our gardens? And why are you parting with so much of it? "

You see the dilemma?

In the Spring, just before gardening season put it up for free in a note posted in the communnity garden, Dollar Store - whatever)

When they ask, "I was going to garden on the balcony again this year, but it just seemed too much trouble for a woman like me."

You know how to play the ditzy older woman card ! :)

this is a clone of a Cream Carmel taken between 3rd and 4th week flowering and this is about 6 weeks later after it was trimmed back a bit it had so many branches started
it was a spring harvest experiment so I never saw her grow to full potential like she might have under a scrog.

Hahaha! Brilliant Rad. I'll do that.

He did recommend in the post to scrog. How beneficial would that be? Is it beneficial because of all the branching that occurs? I've never scrogged a plant yet. I have a screen but it would fill the tent completely. I'm saving it for the day I can put the 4x4 up again.

I may be paranoid when it comes to the growing. But that's not a reason to keep me from doing cannabis activism. I've been shouting loud for decades now all over the place :) The only thing I'm paranoid about is the growing. Think if I told my neighbor to grow cannabis I would have cops all over the place about 15 min later :D

I'm bad about this myself, but I'm fearless too. At 63 I can't bring myself to keep from encouraging my neighbors who live in pain to grow their own in a simple act of civil disobedience that has the potential to dramatically improve the quality of their lives.

What we saw happen with my daughter with the addition of just four pills a day of an infused canna oil changed me. So many around me are suffering needlessly, and as long as we all stay quiet about the therapeutic value of both growing and ingesting cannabis they can't learn from our knowledge.

This isn't to suggest that I believe everyone should don the mantle of cannabis warrior, just a statement of the risks I'm willing to take on myself in the face of prohibition. I've always been looked upon in this physical neighborhood as "Dr Mom." Years running the local tattoo studio like it was my living room and 8 years behind the register at the local dollar store made me kinda prominent. This personality you see here is a reflection of my flesh and blood world. I love people and they love me back, and together we join forces to help ourselves and others live with less physical, emotional, and spiritual pain.

It's morning'ish in this part of the world. I was just outside and I noticed one of nature's little mysterious beauties. Took a photo and I just felt this was the right place to share it (No clue why - I never shared non cannabis related stuff here before)

This "thing" stuck out to me because of the size. It was huge there, hanging on the dried laundry :) It almost looks like it has fur.

Flowering clones work as well, but it takes a little more time. Because of the re-vegg thing. But if you have yet to see a re-vegg, you'll be quite surprised. They don't even look like cannabis in the beginning. It's like the plant is trying to figure out "what the hell am I?" And then when they finally figure out they're cannabis, they start shooting out branches everywhere. A re-vegged plant usually end up growing into a huge bushy thing.

I take clones usually in vegg, right before I switch the flip. But this round I have been continuing taking clones 2 weeks into flowering, so I do have a couple of clones that has to go through that. They'll probably end up being perfect for scrog

I'm surprised Rad hasn't identified it yet. Give him time, he'll come through. :laughtwo: When the children were young we once had a Luna Moth get into their bedroom. I can still remember the sense of awe at being in the presence of such beauty.

Thank you for following your instincts and sharing here. :hugs:

I'm becoming intrigued with revegging. I'd not considered revegging a clone before. I assumed you needed that root ball to reveg. This fascinates me. I'm looking forward to watching one taken at day 21.

Good morning everyone

Rad's right, my LST methods resemble a scrim, don't they? I removed the chicken wire from CBD Critical Cure 2.1.1 and pinned her down a little more. I'm recalling the circular scrogs PeeJay was playing with a while ago. I'll have to take a stroll to Lowes and wander through garden supplies to see what catches my eye.

Intriguing. That encouraged lots of younger growth. I couldn't keep it compressed anymore. She begged to be set free this morning. This one should give an increased yield. I'm still trying to figure out how to duplicate what arteekay pulled of with regularity. I'll get there. You guys are great teachers. :battingeyelashes: :green_heart:

Alright, lets see if I can get Susan fed before I start gardening this morning. Oh! I've already screwed that plan up, haven't I? :laughtwo: Not surprising, is it? I knew you'd understand. Lol!

Get out there and share that joy you woke up with. Make your atmosphere sparkle with a joyous energy. I know it's there, bubbling up to the surface. Have fun turning it loose. :cheesygrinsmiley:

Graytail taught me to take them as the first topping, when the plant reached between 12-14" and started to bolt upwards. That works really well to train the plant because they recover from the topping faster at that point and the side branches rush up to level the canopy within a week or two.

I used to be so intimidated by the thought of cloning until TOAST taught me that bag method. :cheesygrinsmiley:
It can take a few weeks for clones that you reveg to start growing. Sometimes it feels like they don't want to do anything, then suddenly they take off. I've done this several times accidently and on purpose.

On the straight to fridge harvest, I think I'm going to start hanging them a couple days first. I'm at two weeks on the ones I put straight into the fridge and they are still to moist to smoke without torching them. And that is with having laid them out to air out for a day, and again for about 6 hours later. I have a really sticky indica that is my main worry, but the sativas are still taking their time as well. I'm hoping the flavor increase is there. So far the testers I've torched have a nice buzz, but there's not a lot of flavor, to green still. In the grinder, they still have the fresh cut grass smell.

It's forcing me to wait to start smoking my produce, maybe I'll keep more on hand this way.. yea, probably not...

Thought I'd give you an update. Just an fyi to those reading this, I don't have a vegetable crisper drawer like others are using, so my rh is 50 which is a bit higher than others are using. Probably why mine is taking longer. I believe the end result will be great, I'm skirting a fine line though and don't want to chance losing bud. I did early on trying something similar with my second plant. A whole half zip of black diesel gone...

I usually post my nature pictures here ==> The Beauty Of The Changing Seasons
Cannafan has a great thread there :)

Works beautifully. I tape the seed packages to the cards for easy access.

Makes it easy to keep notes too.

This is a very good idea.

Sue gives me way too much credit for knowing stuff - that wasn't me, Hashhound maybe?

My trick on saying smart stuff here on 420 mag is mostly trying to remember what SweetSue says and repeating it to others. If I repeat SweetSue saying I know stuff I'll be in a world of trouble::rofl:

GREAT JOB! on flattening that plant. Those are great results.

With all the talk about cloning from flower, I thought you might appreciate this. I snapped the top off a plant early in flower while I was trying to put a tomato cage around it. This is it when I was cloning it in March.

This is it now.

It's still throwing pistols, which the plant it came from stopped about a week ago. I cut the main plant yesterday, I'm planning on pushing the top another two weeks. I think it lost about a week when it was rooting. Since then it's been trucking away and reaking of overripe Mango. I'm looking forward to this one. I trimmed a sampler off the plant two weeks ago and I could definitely feel the Malawi influence in the buzz.

It does increase the failure rates. I feel I have to warn you. Don't base saving the entire genetics on one single flowering clone :) Take a few at least. It's probably much harder for the plant to both re-vegg and create roots at the same time. But it is possible. Just keep it in a nice place with high humidity until it can live on it's own outside. I have two clones here I took after two weeks flowering. I can keep you updated on their progress if you want :) they're both looking like they'll survive.

I keep them in here. They are all in various stages of rooting and several strains. Some of them are ready to be planted, others not. I will try to keep them in there as long as possible though. Not really space in the tent right now.

The clones love that wet vermiculite. Keeps humidity levels insanely high.

If I were you, I would remove the buds from the flowering clone before I started the rooting process. Because of the high humidity levels the buds may rot and you don't want that inside the sterile cloning environment. And you can also smoke them so there's no reason to keep them on :) That's if the purpose is to re-vegg the clone of course
