SweetSue's Perpetual 2.0 - The Transition To Doc Bud's HBB Kit

Dear friends

Meet White Widow. She's a 7 day old "Clone by mistake" from a plant that was about 2 weeks into flowering give and take. I could calculate these things by going through my journals, but am getting a little bit tired and confused. It's the friggin chronic pain.

Anyway - She's looking quite well for 7 days. No sign of new growth yet. This was as previously stated a clone by mistake which means I broke the top of a plant by mistake and then I kinda just put it into rockwool. I used no rooting gel/powder. Just R/O water with Canna Rhizotonic. I wonder if that will make it even harder for it to survive? I don't know - let's find out!

:laughtwo: Accidental cloning. Been there. Done that. Lol! Let's see what the girl has in her. If you have any aloe you could soak the Rockwool in a strong dilution of gel and water. That might enhance the chance of successful rooting in the absence of rooting hormone.

You have a talent with that camera. :battingeyelashes: With your chronic pain, what CBD strain are you growing? You'd be wise to try something with a balanced ratio or with a 2:1 slant towards CBD.

I have a difficult time being quiet when I know someone I care about is in pain. :hugs: ,

If I were you, I would remove the buds from the flowering clone before I started the rooting process. Because of the high humidity levels the buds may rot and you don't want that inside the sterile cloning environment. And you can also smoke them so there's no reason to keep them on :) That's if the purpose is to re-vegg the clone of course
I've revegged clones I've cut while in flower but this was an accidental topping. I thought I'd see if I could root and salvage it just for the sake of it. I'm glad I did as it's grown vigorously. I'll get almost as much as I'm getting from the plant it broke off and it should be some fine smoke.

Thanks Sue. I love playing around with a camera.

Aloe like in aloe vera?

When it comes to the chronic pain - I like to get high and pain-killed at the same time, so I have been looking for a high THC/CBD strain. Am currently growing Bubbleicious (self pollinated Bubblegum) which is a med THC high CBD strain. The exact numbers though - Have not found any credible data.

I would love to hear your thoughts on good pain-killing strains. I've found indica-dominated hybrids to work better than Sativa on me.

It can take a few weeks for clones that you reveg to start growing. Sometimes it feels like they don't want to do anything, then suddenly they take off. I've done this several times accidently and on purpose.

On the straight to fridge harvest, I think I'm going to start hanging them a couple days first. I'm at two weeks on the ones I put straight into the fridge and they are still to moist to smoke without torching them. And that is with having laid them out to air out for a day, and again for about 6 hours later. I have a really sticky indica that is my main worry, but the sativas are still taking their time as well. I'm hoping the flavor increase is there. So far the testers I've torched have a nice buzz, but there's not a lot of flavor, to green still. In the grinder, they still have the fresh cut grass smell.

It's forcing me to wait to start smoking my produce, maybe I'll keep more on hand this way.. yea, probably not...

Thought I'd give you an update. Just an fyi to those reading this, I don't have a vegetable crisper drawer like others are using, so my rh is 50 which is a bit higher than others are using. Probably why mine is taking longer. I believe the end result will be great, I'm skirting a fine line though and don't want to chance losing bud. I did early on trying something similar with my second plant. A whole half zip of black diesel gone...

Morglie, how small do you cut the buds down? I trim them off the branches as individual flowers, as far up to the tip as I can. Pigeons taught me this trick to even drying.

This was the first time I opened this jar up since harvest. Everything's super sticky. Lol! I keep the jar in the back of the fridge on its side, in the coolest spot next to the crisper drawer. I'm thinking of moving the seed bank out of that drawer and putting this jar there instead.

BRB.........

Better. Most of what's in my refrigerator is cannabis or cannabis oils. Hahaha!

I understand why you'd want to hang them, but you lose the monoterpene numbers during those early days and they're what makes this method so effective as medicine. It's akin to the harvest oil potency being pegged to almost no loss of the terpenes.

You're working on a hybrid method that may be more effective from a drying standpoint. It's difficult to wait on the slow process. You definately can't be choosing this process if you need the meds now. I'll probably fall into the routine of processing at least 100 grams wet into oil on the spot and then dry the rest low and slow.

My fridge gets up to 50% too, but I ignore that. What happened to the half ounce you lost?

Thanks Sue. I love playing around with a camera.

Not being a fan of indicas I can't speak to their effectiveness, but I know that in the medical field indicas are more often recommended for chronic pain. They pack excellent terpene profiles that knock down pain and help you sleep, the single best thing for dealing with pain. If you can get a good night's sleep you'll be able to deal with the pain better.

I'm on this mission to help others find relief from pain, but my personal experiences with pain have been emergency and temporary. I have to rely on what I hear. Recently, the best one I've heard of was Alaskan Thunderfuck. If I were living with chronic pain, this is a strain I'd be looking to try. Another favorite is anything Kush.

In the sativa line we're hearing marvelous things about the Mango Haze. I want this one bad. A sativa-dominant high CBD, this sounds like one for my personal regimen. I'm working on finding a strain that'll get the scalp psoriasis treated from the inside, but I'd prefer it to be a sativa.

Topicals should definately be a part of your treatment regimen. A well-balanced topical is worth it's weight in gold.

Yes, that was aloe vera I referred to.

It does increase the failure rates. I feel I have to warn you. Don't base saving the entire genetics on one single flowering clone :) Take a few at least. It's probably much harder for the plant to both re-vegg and create roots at the same time. But it is possible. Just keep it in a nice place with high humidity until it can live on it's own outside. I have two clones here I took after two weeks flowering. I can keep you updated on their progress if you want :) they're both looking like they'll survive.

I keep them in here. They are all in various stages of rooting and several strains. Some of them are ready to be planted, others not. I will try to keep them in there as long as possible though. Not really space in the tent right now.

The clones love that wet vermiculite. Keeps humidity levels insanely high.

TOAST has me so spoiled with his technique that I only take one cutting from each plant in flower. :laughtwo: I don't clip leaves, I don't worry about humidity levels. When they root I pop them out of the bags and plant and throw them out under the lights. So far it's worked amazingly well. I only have room for so many flowering plants, and that restricts the number of cuttings I have to deal with.

I only open the bag up every three days. I watch everyone else with all the time and effort put into cloning and smile indulgently.

Yep, the man spoils me with knowledge and friendship. :battingeyelashes:  Let me go and send him a morning message to bring a smile. :cheesygrinsmiley:

I usually post my nature pictures here ==> The Beauty Of The Changing Seasons
Cannafan has a great thread there :)

Thank you Rad. As reigning MOTY I'm supposed to make those suggestions when "nature pictures" get left here, but I usually forget about it. :cheesygrinsmiley:

Sue gives me way too much credit for knowing stuff - that wasn't me, Hashhound maybe?

My trick on saying smart stuff here on 420 mag is mostly trying to remember what SweetSue says and repeating it to others. If I repeat SweetSue saying I know stuff I'll be in a world of trouble::rofl:

GREAT JOB! on flattening that plant. Those are great results.

I was much impressed with how the plant responded. It's something I'll keep playing with until I understand it better.

I'm flattered Rad. :hugs: You, my friend, are so much smarter than I am. I simply have a talent for communication and a driving passion to pass on what I learn. I can't tell you the number of times I've breathed a sigh of relief to know you were my backup. :kisstwo:

Rockwool clones on wet vermiculite/perlite (SWICK) - that's a way that rockwool miht actually work! Great idea :)

Hey Sue... Happy Sunday Funday

I need some Sue Expertise Please:circle-of-love::thumb:

Can you explain your Process of Harvest, Cleaning in the 3 trays, and yer Cold drying technique

I assume in the next week Ish Ill be doing my 1st harvests and want to be prepared. Probably be a bit till I do the Fresh Oil, not till I get more of the Big Girls ready. Oooo I need a pressure cooker too:high-five:

Thanks, as always, for the help and Love:circle-of-love:

Opening a bag every 3 days and breathing into - not lazy enough for me.

My method is to listen for splashing water in the clonebucket - If I want to plant something, I take a look and see what is available.

With all the talk about cloning from flower, I thought you might appreciate this. I snapped the top off a plant early in flower while I was trying to put a tomato cage around it. This is it when I was cloning it in March.

This is it now.

It's still throwing pistols, which the plant it came from stopped about a week ago. I cut the main plant yesterday, I'm planning on pushing the top another two weeks. I think it lost about a week when it was rooting. Since then it's been trucking away and reaking of overripe Mango. I'm looking forward to this one. I trimmed a sampler off the plant two weeks ago and I could definitely feel the Malawi influence in the buzz.

That's a really fruitful 'accident'
When life gives you lemons ...

It works great. The wet vermiculite will keep relative humidity around 95% for several weeks. Even with the dome off humidity will remain above 80%. If you use this solution, make sure to keep the vents on the dome open at all times so you get some air in there as well. I swear to you - On some clones I have seen roots growing out from the stem even above the rockwool That's how much they're thriving in there.

Perlite will keep relative humidity lower, but can't remember how much. Think next time I'll do a 50/50 blend of perlite and vermiculite. I should have humidity slightly lower.

Hey Sweet Sue, I just harvested some Mango Haze. I really really like it! I tried it as soon as it was done curing. Yummy to smoke. Made my whole body breath a sigh of relief and I slept like I hadn't slept in a while. I woke up so refreshed which tells me I had a pretty pain free night. I am experiencing a bad rheumatoid arthritis flare that has had me now for a year. I still have some more seeds saved to try it again. I'm thinking of taking my bud from this and making a coconut butter to add to some matcha tea for an after work early to bed soother. You would like her a lot. Nice CBD to THC ratio.

I do like the sound of "Alaskan thunderfuck" LOL :) Have to be on the lookout for that one. Thanks!

Afternoon Sue!!! I have been busy gardening today. Just thought I would drop a pick of my latest upsized plant. Here is my c-99. Just moved her to a 7 gal pot. She will be 4 of 5 weeks till she gets moved to the flower tent. She should be another beast. :circle-of-love::peace:

20170604_123226_resized.jpg

Ooooo..... Dave, you have me wanting to plant one of my own C-99s. She's gonna explode in 5 weeks.

Very nice, Dave!

The seedbank sent some C-99 with my order that I want to try for my next grow. I'll be watching your beautiful plant for sure.

I woke up this morning still so high from yesterday that I decided to put off my meds until I felt the system slow down enough that I knew I needed the next dose. That didn't happen until 8 PM, when I broke out this little bit and got completely wasted. :laughtwo:

IMG_73526.JPG

This oil is so potent that I build up a backlog and have to take a day off, but I'm flying high the entire time anyway. Lol! Sometimes it's really nice to be me. :cheesygrinsmiley:

Now I think I'll have just a little bit more before I hit the sheets. :battingeyelashes: :green_heart:
