SweetSue's Perpetual 2.0 - The Transition To Doc Bud's HBB Kit

Thanks Tead. :hugs: That pretty much mirrors my timelines. I have to keep track of things for kit purposes, but I go a little overboard on record-keeping. I console my angst over that obsession with the idea that I'm still learning the ropes, but yesterday I was looking through records for the daughter, to determine when she started her capsule regimen and it occurred to me that I could probably stop tracking things so closely. I write it all on a calander anyway. It might be time in my training to become less record-oriented and more instinctive.

It's nice that the hempies all get watered on the same day. Next step is decide if osmo and the expensive bottles are comparable. Hmmm..... to do so would require me to test a single strain in the medium using each nute source....... I can do that tomorrow. I'll be planting the first of the Tribute Medicinal Gardens seeds. I want one in soil, but I could run two hempies at the same time.

You've changed the way I garden in the most dramatic way Tead. With this planting I believe the hempies may outnumber tthe expensive soil. :battingeyelashes: :green_heart:

I really should keep records. Makes it hard to help others sometimes.

I made the move from bottled to Osmo, and tho I'm still dabbling with dosages, I've been very satisfied with the move.

And yes, the slope your currently sliding down is a slippery one. Tead wonders if you'll join him at the bottom or if you'll find a touch of soil to hang onto along your way. Fun to watch over the days/months/years.

I'm back! Well... I've not really been gone that long but! Well, I just did my firsr feeding with my green planet nutrients! Medi one is the one that i'm using for my Ny Diesel Auto and I love feeding her!!! Anyway, today I ordered 5 Geo pots, 10 gallons or 39 litres. So, that will be a big improvement. Tell me what you guys think!

:high-five: Ten gallon pots is a great choice. You'll see improvement, depending on the light source. More root space demands more light, in many cases, if you plan of greater yields.

That's true! But I noticed with my last plants that they needed some more space in a 7 gallon pot for the roots and I always wanted Geo Pots but I was thinking between 10 gallons and 7 gallons geo pots but hey what the hell why no 10 gallons?? So I bought them. It should raise the yield by just a bit because they have a lot more light than they had last time and the summer sun! We'll see! I will get bigger plants though!!

I'll admit, looking at your garden and considering the possibilities in my own space keeps me thinking. I can't have anything tested, so I can't really contrast from a medicinal perspective. I turn most of my harvests into oils, for many purposes, so the goal for me is frostiness and volume by weight. Ziggy proved you can get more volume out of the space with budscicles on steroids. Lol! Hempies are a step above that, but I can get more into the spaces with hempies.

Disposing of used soil from a third floor apartment in a concrete jungle can be a challenge. For that matter, the physical work and storage requirements of making soil are a challenge in such limited quarters.

The thought is always there. Obviously the inspiration has become skewered towards the perlite. :battingeyelashes: :green_heart:

But there are some I want to try that'll require soil, IMO. The leggier sativas that take months on months to mature the blossoms..... I don't see them in a hempy. I haven't tried one yet though. I wonder if I have one in my seed collection? I could run it with Grow Better nutes. Wouldn't matter how long she took.

I'm thinking of trying my next clone straight into perlite under a dome. Hmmmm..... It'll soon be time to take one from UD. There ya go, a likely candidate. :cheesygrinsmiley:

I can't remember if I noticed it anywhere Sue but what nutrients do you use?

My soil girls are growing with the assistance of Doc Bud's HighBrix Blend kit. The hempies are mostly growing with Osmocote Plus evenly distributed through the perlite and one is being treated to Grow Better nutes I won as MOTY.

I intended to go all soil with Doc's kit but Tead tempted me beyond endurance with his hempy heaven. :laughtwo:

And also the last time I made cannaoil I used everclear when I decarbed and I did not have any today.. will that make a big difference

Way to go Cannoisseuras. :high-five: Sorry to take so long to notice this. I've been trying to wrap my head around cellular biology. :thedoubletake:

At 190 degrees F I might be inclined to go 8 hours. It's already decarbed, so all you're doing is knocking the trichomes open so their oils can bond to the coconut oil. I'd agitate every hour or so initially and drop off to whenever you think of it.

How did you use Everclear to decarb? Spritzed on, like the High Times experiments? You cooked it long enough to get the job done. Anything that didn't get converted will do so while you bond the oils in the slow cooker.

Yeah I spritz it on,I used the high times video as a tutorial. Only difference is I just used 3oz of sugar trim with some small popcorn in the mix and just threw some fans in for good measure. I dont know if its going to be real potent because I didnt know how much trim to use

You're welcome. A good rule of thumb I use is at least one gram of cannabis buds to each ounce of carrier oil. When using leaves, even sugar leaves, I double that amount, so it'd be 2 grams of leaf material for each ounce of carrier oil.

I make potent oil. :cheesygrinsmiley:

92 grams into 14 oz of oil.....oops.

Maybe not - if these are fresh harvest 'wet' grams. Did you weigh before or after the decarb?
I think sue gave the ratios for dried grams.

If wet, you are close to a 1:1 ratio there - so can expect half the strength of really, really strong oil.
If dry, you might run the trim through a second time as the olive oil probably coudn't absorb all the cannabis oil.

I just have to show this ridiculous article to Sue. 420 won't allow me to mention this magazine's name since it's a competing magazine. But I can say it's a very big magazine being released monthly and these claims are from the July 2017 edition

No one? Not even Sue?

That's nice! Well I bought my Green Planet nutrients all happy and excited and stuff but I still need to figure something out about it!

I was actually expecting a good read. An article that goes in debt about the advantages of using hydro vs soil. As someone who used both mediums over the years, I find this article extremely misinformative. Did this huge magazine who's supposed to be the market leader, really not hear about the new trends with high-brix soils and other living soils?

I wonder what we will discover for plants in the future. And it goes FAST. I've seen that Canna's reasearch lab is really busy with making new nutrients or making their nutrients even better.
