not as easy as it sounds to support the branches these are dispensary plants that can hold anywhere up to 5 pounds especially the big bud I have pushed exceeding 5lb here's a few pictures of the plants that I am talking about they are just now going into flowering so they will still get bigger

I just have to show this ridiculous article to Sue. 420 won't allow me to mention this magazine's name since it's a competing magazine. But I can say it's a very big magazine being released monthly and these claims are from the July 2017 edition

No one? Not even Sue?

soil34.jpg

It's a magazine... and frankly, a rather stodgy and dusty one in such a dynamic growing world. Their goal is obviously readership... not research. At some point (90's?), filling the pages with words and ads became more important than it's readers.... such a shame.

It's a magazine catering to their sponsors. Not much money to be harvested when growers reuse soil, grow from the same pots and lights year after year, and are sparing in their purchase of nutrient mixes, pesticides, PH adjusters, and 'boosters.'

There also exists the posibility that no one is actually writing their 'new' articles, just re-editting the old ones.

. . .

I can see the beginnings of greatness in the apparent chaos.

It's going to level her out better than I'd anticipated. There'll be lots of work still, but I'm beginning to get more excited about this girl.

. . . .

I woke up ready to play with the cosmos today, did you? :battingeyelashes:

That screen is doing a good job - better than I expected!

Who is wearing that beautiful indica leaf in the lower left?

Damn money!!!
While the folly of such things is immediately obvious both historically and logically, one can sometimes recognize the mass attraction of communism and the potential for good propaganda.
On my tropical island full of cuties with coconut bikinis, there will be no pennies.... no formal exchange... just a whole bunch of girlies. I figure that if I put such pieces in play, whatever comes of it should be interesting. Ya know... just makin gumbo again.

It's all heading your way Tead.

Hey.... keep it clean up your way... it gets ugly down here. Fun tho.... sharing water. Toss a bottle in.... I'll keep an eye out.
It's really quite deep on this end with an incredible flow this time of year. Lately, it's been swamping the trees that have grown in areas between the levy and the river. Sometimes it climbs up and gets crazy, but mostly stays within the walls of the levies.

Pidgeon's stem workout might help too....

That's next up when the chicken wire comes down. :cheesygrinsmiley: Have you seen his Headband? That one sold me on his aggressive manhandling.

You might want to ask Cola Monster what he does to get his branches strong enough to support his buds. I'm sure he'd be happy to share knowledge with you.

I like to use volcanic ash

Good choice for mineralization. A tad more silica might beef up the branches. My original soil choice was wonderful mineralized, and I still added that potassium silicate with every drench. My tiny girls were no comparison to yours. :laughtwo: Lovely garden, by the way. Envy. :dreamy:

That would be Thin Mint Girl Scout Cookie Rad.

It just keeps raining. We often get heavy storms, but not often back-to-back for days. Normally it's about once a week. The river, she's high and running crazy fast.

I think I saw a local number around 1.5" yesterday. We have the tall levy wall all along the river of course. On occasion, the river gets a bit out of control. We pull a few sections out of the levy wall with big backhoes and let a bazillion gallons of water out to the gulf in a more direct way thru an area designed for such things.

Water... such a bit down here. It's friggin everywhere and plays into many aspects of life around here in many ways.

I'm kinda late for a reply about the media and what they're good for anymore ...

I watch hours and hours of cable news, whose average viewership age is over 60 I believe. For several years I've wondered why corporate services businesses advertise on national TV. :hmmmm: I'm talking about names I've never heard of, boasting about their ability to integrate corporate services of various kinds. There's a new one now called CA.com, something like that. Here's a question: Why? Are the corporate buyers watching the same program I am? Is this the best way to reach them? It's these guys and a bunch of 60 year olds? :hmmm: Cable news programs are the best, most cost-efficient way to reach these prospects? Mass media?

I don't think so, I really don't. So ... why are they advertising?

Lately it occurred to me that they might be merely supporting the network or the program itself. Perhaps they wish to encourage the political leanings of the program or network in the belief that it would be more helpful to their customers - other corporations - and therefore beneficial to their own business transactions with them.

Any chance of that? Or are they really trying to find a corporate buyer or two watching shows that only old retired folks watch? It could be as simple as that, right?

I'm blaming it all on the advertisers these days. We watch what they want us to watch. They're footing the bill. We watch for "free", and all we have to do in return is watch the commercials, too. The advertisers are in charge of what we see, and their AI knows how to manipulate us. That gives me chills if I think about it too much.

:Namaste:

I've studied hypnosis a bit and once I learnt about subliminal messaging I stopped paying attention to commercials. It's kinda scary.

Well this was a chilling thought Graytail. It actually makes sense that they'd be supporting each other financially. It's disturbing the ways big money conspires to keep most of it in the hands of friends and family and then join forces to control the message.

You made me so glad I gave the TV up last year. I have to say, the emotional tone of my life changed dramatically when I took the big, black talking screen out of my living space. I thought I'd learned to block it out, but I was wrong. All those little irritants dropped away when I decided to avoid the news. Commercials are a thing of the past, as well as all the negative suggestions my ECS didn't need to be hearing. As New B pointed out, the subliminal messages that we don't consider are no longer a part of my experience.

I discovered I preferred the quiet. Or music as the background. I'd erroneously assumed I'd want the underlay of talking to counter the silence of living alone. If I want the illusion of company I pull up a class on YouTube.

You ever stop to consider what value there really is to be immersed in the negative trauma of people all the way on the other side of the earth? Not that we need to ignore it, but do we really need to swim in all that negativity? We do it by choice. One day, when I realized I hadn't turned mine on in a year, I simply packed the screen and the DVD player up and handed them to my appreciative neighbor.

I find all of you much more entertaining. :cheesygrinsmiley:

Yes it is, and you wouldn't believe how different life becomes when you step away from that.

I'd imagine you also find the sing song cadence of preachers a bit scary too

I know I do. Gave up organized religion too. The judgement presented in our world as Christianity became intolerable years ago. I'm not much of the conformist, and congregations and I are best seperated. I have these crazy notions about love being unconditional, and I mean it. That doesn't often fit well with organized religion. :cheesygrinsmiley:

Once upon a time I had to give presentations. I am a technician not a speech giver. So to learn I watch certain religious preachers on TV and mimic as best I could. They are effective. Not sure I was.

I'm certain you were. :battingeyelashes:

Good morning everyone

I actually went to bed at a reasonable hour last night. :laughtwo: I find I enjoy waking before 7, but the flip side is I enjoy being awake at 3 AM too, so there's always this tension. Lol! Slept like a baby and woke up ready to play one more day. :slide:

Right before I went to bed I removed the chicken wire and tied down the two leaders on Carn 3.1.

She's still unruly, but with more promise and the possibility of more bud sites that'll turn into huge colas. :blunt: Lots of work ahead, but I'm confident she and I can come to an agreement.

IMG_81023.JPG

Feel that joy bubbling up? :cheesygrinsmiley: Good. Now get out there and share it as often as you can. I'm still lost in my relationship seminar. There sure are a lot of out there ideas in this field. When I started into this one I wondered how they'd fill ten days and still be relevant, and it's turned out to be delightful fun. This community has a smooth money-making system of their own churning away. Brilliant marketing strategies.

I often wonder what draws me to the seminars I choose. I get completely immersed in the chosen subjects, but to have chosen one that runs for so many days surprised me. I'm having great fun taking copious notes. The universe appears to be training me. Mayhaps it's time to manifest my own soul mate before I get so comfortable with solitary living that I decide to keep it that way.

......... I don't think that's a possibility. :laughtwo: He's out there. I feel his presence. In time we'll fall right in front of each other. Lol!

One of the disadvantages of ripening your fruit in the tent is I have to wait for the lights to come on before I can reach in and grab a banana. Still 20 minutes out. I suppose this is as good a time as any to roll this body out of bed and into the shower, get this day revved up and ready to go. The river trail is already calling me.

Joy, my friends. Spread it around and make your world sparkle. :cheesygrinsmiley:

:ciao:

I do not like to use perlite when it comes to that I rather use vermiculite it's lighter it's fluffier and it still holds water and oxygen cheaper on my wallet as for the volcanic ash know it is a very strong nutrient-rich makes it good to put in soil plus helps aerate my soil

I use perlite in my hempies, and it comes added into the ProMix. Disposing of it is a special concern.

I've never used volcanic ash that I can recall. Interesting. My LOS mix was rich in minerals. Doc's favorite line about his kit is "Minerals, microbes, and magic." Very true that. :cheesygrinsmiley:

How long have you been growing, if you don't mind my asking?

Mmmmmm.... They really are tastier ripened with the cannabis. :laughtwo:

She bought another couple days. I don't see any amber trichomes at all yet. Most are cloudy at the tops of the colas, but the majority of lower trichomes are still clear.

I feel like I'm starting to get the hang of this guys. :slide:

Not to be a buzz kill, lol, I think you have had the hang of this for quite a while now.
Looking good Sue.

Cheers.

Thank you for that Ditch. :hugs:  I started so wet behind the ears it was rediculous. Lol! Then I got blindsided by grief, which kinda set me back for a spell. I'm just now beginning to feel like I have some real competency at this wonderful obsession of ours. So much more to learn. So many excellent mentors to learn from. :battingeyelashes: :green_heart:
