The last of the capsules that're keeping my daughter anxiety-free.

Wish I'd read this before I took the recommended minimum dose of half a teaspoon. Serious muck mouth and being able to relax and fall back asleep. Really tired but shutting my eyes kind of freaks me out as does thinking too hard. CRAP!
I'm fine if I don't think too hard but that's kind of what you're supposed to do when trying to fall asleep. .
I took a sleeping pill a little while ago. Might be overkill but it seemed easier at the time than the alternative - find a vaporizer with anti-hash plant in it or turn on the light and take some Nordle oil.

Thanks, Sue. I'm trying. Hubby isn't home yet. I'm glad that you're here.

DH is almost home. He knows what's going on. I told him he'd have call in sick for me, which sucks 'cause our new fingerprint scan payroll system that I'm one of 3 helpers so I should be there.

Canna oil is infused, which means we extract the trichomes and they become "one" with the carrier oil. Concentrated Cannabis Oil (CCO) is the extraction of the trichomes using a solvent that is evaporated off, leaving only the concentration of the oil found in those trichomes. The capsules referred to in the post by Canyon would be made with CCO. The capsules I use for myself and my daughter are made with infused oils.
If I were treating something like cancer I'd be reaching for CCO in conjunction with other methods, but CCO would be my primary meds. As the post above points out, the overzealous regulation by uninformed governmental officials can raise another need for the use of CCO.
I looked over the recipe HashGirl. The ratio of cannabis to oil is twice what many of us use for medicinal purposes, so be alert to that when you take that initial dose. I personally use a ratio of 80 grams of dry buds (400 gr wet, freshly-harvested) to 500 ml of carrier oil. Converted down that would only be 2.4 grams of bud to that tablespoon of oil. You have a fairly high tolerance, but I'd stick with the recommendation of a teaspoon and wait it out the entire 90 minutes before increasing.
I decarb for an hour at 245 degrees F. Then I cool in the freezer for that hour. I'd hope that the poster had some lab tests to back up that 290 degrees for precisely 7 minutes. It makes me nervous to risk my trichomes like that. Your choice baby.
I'd also recommend you use between a half tablespoon to a tablespoon of liquid sunflower lecithin. If you're going to make oils, as you stated, you'll be needing to include the product anyway. It potentiates the meds by making them more bioavailable, as well as add a valuable brain food to the mix. Lecithin causes the oil to hit the system much faster and deeper than oils made without.
Also, if you have a roasting bag it goes a long way for controlling the odors. I toss the cooled pan into the freezer for an hour before I open the bag. Just a hope that I can somehow keep all the terpenes from floating away, even though neikodog demonstrated the futility of that move. I live in an apartment building. Controlling those delicious smells of roasting cannabis is a bonus for me.
Have fun with your first oil-making. How exciting. Fuzz, you're next, aren't you? You haven't made any, have you?
I have never made CCO. I am hoping to make rosin next year. Would rosin count as a CCO? I have made infused oil before. I can't remember for sure what temp I last decarbed on, but I think it was 225 for an hour. I'm going to follow your recommendation of 245 next time. The oven bag does a lot to control smell. Sealing it up tight in foil helps almost as well if you don't have oven bags. I usually take the decarbed bud and throw it in a slow cooker overnight on warm or low (depends on whether I use the big one or small one). I've never tried it with sunflower lecithin though, and I'm very excited to try that!
HashGirl, I'm so sorry you had a bad night.
Sorry for taking over your thread last night, Sue. I kept thinking I should take the conversation elsewhere but I was just too high to figure it out. I just woke now but still feel pretty tired. I should probably eat something and get up but I'm still super tired. I think I finally fell asleep around 4ish.
Anyways as I told DH, the good news is I only took half a teaspoon, the minimum recommended dose. I was thinking I'm already taking 10 ml of the cannaoil I get from my licensed producer, which I believe is double of the oil I made yesterday but I stuck with their suggestion of starting low and I'm so glad I did.
