SweetSue's Cannabis Oil Study Hall

HI everyone. Just wanted to share that I've started a MMJ Journal here: MMJ Journal: one mans healing with cannabis experience

It will help me with tracking what I'm taking and outcomes. There is not much in there yet but all are welcome to stop by visit and share information.

Next step will be a journal link in my signature? Is it? Bottom of my posts.

I expect to be fairly active in this wonderful thread also.

Later...

Cajun's gonna want to smack me when he finds out about this, and rightfully so. *sigh* Make it a soft one mon ami. Remember my heart's in the right place and take comfort that I figured it out within a couple days. I got lost in the beauty of the high. I'll be typing this through tears as I come to grips once again with my myopic nature and my joy of living in Susanland.

And the high has been blissful.

A couple days ago I stumbled onto a surprise I'd hit on by accident last year, when I didn't have enough stock to repeat my mistake. And then Dale died, and life froze, and I forgot. I made that same mistake the other day. I forgot I was decarbing and left it in for 90 minutes. It made the high ........ Geez guys, I can't even begin to tell you how much more powerful it made the bud. More than twice, in my opinion. Quite frankly, I've never been this high, and I've been smoking for 40 years, and smoking this same bud for a month. I assure you, this doesn't smoke like the same stuff after the 90 minute decarb.

What just hit me was the thought that it somehow potentiates the THC, and wouldn't that mean it would increase the medicinal value of that same THC? I'm getting significantly higher with this process. That means the THC is more potent, does it not? You see the implications?

Thoughts?

I'm not crying anymore. I started to get really excited after the apology. That was an apology mon ami, in case that wasn't clear. :hugs:

A gentle reminder of something I've read repeatedly, "If it gets you high it's not treating cancer." I know you were talking about more than just cancer, but I think it would be true for many (but not all) other medicinal uses.

I know longer decarb converts more THC to CBN, which creates a much more sedative stone/couch-lock. Taken to its extreme like you did, no telling what else might have been added to the entourage effect. It would be great to have this tested to see what's really there (I know you've already thought about this, inquiring mind that you are )

At this point we know one benefit of the long decarb. I'm hoping we can pin down a few others. Sounds like too much fund to miss! :)
:Namaste:

I have some theories on cannabis symptoms I'd like to share:

Listen to my body is the best thing I've learned at this stage of my MCP.

I respond to low levels of Thc. Working with just an indica blend now in a tincture.

So when I activate and stimulate my Ec system, and it responds, this is What it's saying to me

Dry mouth drink more water I'm still thirsty. Are you thirsty - drink more water.
Funny strange all over, weak - blood sugar is low go eat something good
The munchies - thirsty and/ or needing nutrients body wants sugar
Frequent urination - system is flushing itself out. Increase water intake as needed. Don't hold your bladder - backs up the entire system.

I gO to a happy quiet place and relax.

mY joints all feel weird - a tingle, a warmth, pins and needles all at once. The joints doing that are saying they need more blood circulation. So I dO gentle stretching and rotation excerces on the joints that hurt. Do all your joints a couple of times a day. I can do these anywhere but they will look at you strange if doing hip rotations and pelvic thrusts at Tim Hortons.

Lay down sometimes helps, but usually I just slow down. Change up the tasks to work differs muscle groups and a good balance of sitting and the much better moving. Doing something all the time helps more than I expected. But there are also the sit and try not to hurt days.

When my brain starts whirring around with different ideas every second I welcome that. Now that I know it's coming and I want it to. I know that means the alert active energy guy is still in there somewhere. I try to jot down notes about those thoughts.

OK. You got me to take a breath there. Thank you. :laughtwo:

It's getting me high because it's being metabolized at a faster rate? Is that a possibility? That somehow, the longer decarb would..... I can't articulate it. Take a breath......... I need to think about this, or better yet, walk away from it and listen to some music. Let some clarity through.

I can't get it tested. No access here and it's illegal for me to ship it. At this point I get to enjoy the high that's achievable, and if others duplicate my results, we'll know an easy way to extend the cannabis you use for getting high. Many people benefit from euphoria. I may have stumbled on a way to help those people get more bang for their buck.

I feel very blessed to have fallen over this information. I'm a little stunned that no one else has noticed. Surely someone else had this happen? I know BAR duplicated it. It all happened at such a weird time. Why now?

These are more excellent ideas on strengthening the endocannabinoid system. I took a course on that the other day, and I'm tempted to start a thread on strengthening the ECS beyond cannabis. What do you guys think? We just need someone to set up the room and open the door. If need be I can be that person, but I openly encourage one of you to take a stab at it. Then everyone who wants to can share their story on how they strengthen theirs.

I've noticed a high percentage of our members are quite adept at enhancing their body's ability to heal. There should be a central place for those stories so that someone hurting can find practical suggestions that've worked.

That alert, active guy should keep on jotting and sharing. He's a good communicator of ideas we can all benefit from. :hugs:

KR, part of my mystery is why it didn't give the bud a couch-lock effect. That was what one would expect, no? That's not what happened this year, and it's not what happened with a different strain last year. This bud I'm ingesting and smoking now is like a shot of speed. Without the nasty yucky feeling speed leaves in its wake. I just had a 24-hour buzz of high quality on half a brownie. It stunned me. Right now, on half a brownie, my entire body is buzzing. This is incredible.

I'm hoping it gets duplicated and someone gets intrigued enough to get some tested. Testing may not answer it. That's always a possibility.

Edit: I just remembered I had a small joint tonight too. I forgot all about that, since it's such a new behavior. :laughtwo: Still, higher than I've ever been, and fully functional. Speedy, as a matter of fact. Sweating.

Sue, Thanks for your comments! I currently grow stealth mode , all auto strains. Over the last 45 plus years , since I first started growing, I have gone from mostly outdoor grows, to smaller indoor grows with HPS/MH. I have played with hydroponic both as a horticulturalist growing produce , to the cannabis grows, with good success. :rollit:I became an organic gardener slowly in stages over a fifteen to twenty year period and have been growing exclusively organic for about 25-30 years. Now I grow cannabis only organic, in a homegrown compost (Leaf mold and leaves, garden waste, sheep pills composted with straw/hay, kitchen waste , etc.) based custom blend, with peat moss, vermiculite and perlite. :hippy: I have recently retired the HPS/MH (two plus years now), most of the hydroponic stuff (except clone system), the big ventilation fan and filter, the CO2, etc... Auto plants only for now! I now use only six tube (48 inch/54 watts HO) FL. T5 fixtures only(2 available). I would like to try a LED fixture (no Funds at present). This set up only requires a small circulation fan , little heat to deal with and for 320 watts, yields about 30,000 lumens max. I have two sets of tubes, 2700K and 6500K. I am happy with a just slightly smaller yield in weight per plant rather than when using HPS/MH with the autos.:thumb: Currently, I have Early Miss (CKS)nearing harvest, for early January. I use 3 gallon smart type pots with good results, along with the heavy on the compost blend and daily attention! This year I also have earlier grown Early Miss, Train Wreck and Northern Lights (all CKS autos) in this manner, as well! Another was a unknown auto (seed from my brother who forgot) that did ok and was good smoke. I made some oil and butter with Northern Lights and Train Wreck. I have used a smaller CFL and T5 fixture to start/early veg plants then rotated them to under the T5s. Low cost, low energy draw, no heat to exhaust, low heat signature, good quality smoke, decent yields, naturally good smoke delivered by homestead organics! Of course I should mention all my old equipment is worn out and/or broken! I did not want to spend money (didn't have any to spare) for new bulbs, fan, filter, ballast and more importantly, I have become more paranoid, perhaps, related to my anxiety /panic attacks and wanted to keep the profile low, with no big exhaust/heat trail. It has been sufficient unto me! :smokin2:Made some great oil and butter with the help of my brother and our good friend and associate, in a coop mode, using their reactor and gear, sharing the materials and labor to process crops of the all three of us!:high-five: I would like to grow some other varieties soon, but bought plenty of seeds for this year and enjoyed the varieties. I found the Train Wreck too edgy for me this year with my anxiety thing going on. Northern Lights was nice (now gone until I grow it again). Early Miss is good smoke. I have found that after the RX adverse reactions this past year, along with my naturally getting older and crazier, that The Sativa dominants are more prone to causing me problems with increasing my anxiety, especially if :lot-o-toke: I over indulge in both the smoke and butter/oil! Obviously I live in a police state, so with no infirmary or legal anything, I have to grow or obtain through my shrinking circle, my herbal meds! I have used cannabis to self medicate for RA, carpal tunnel, OA, recurring depression linked to a fractured skull, anxiety, and for relaxing. Occasionally, friend or family will bring me a taste of the many things available now days! I love growing food and medicine! I also grow ginger, lemon balm, red clover, mints, table herbs, camellia, chamomile, golden seal, valerian and more. Teas from herbal blends are sparingly used for relaxation and health. Until recently, I raised a few sheep , goats, chickens, pigs and had in the past a horse or two. Now only a few dogs and a pet sheep! I live in the country, but near a city and in an area of ruthless drug interdiction programs. They make no distinction between Cannabis and Meth or other dangerous drugs. It is always a background worry that a fire or something will bring them here! Sue , you and the many others I follow here now, are much like a family to me!

Thursday night at 5-6 PST, 8-9 EST Green Flower Media is offering a live stream class on treating cancer with cannabis. The guest speaker is Mara Gordon, founder of Aunt Zelda's. I warn you in advance that Mara vehemently opposes the use of suppositories, believing they aren't at all useful. Obviously we don't share that opinion, knowing people who have used them successfully to do just what she says they won't, but the woman is a fount of information on using cannabis to treat cancer. I share in case you wanted to join.

Sharing a link isn't possible, given our site safety restrictions, so you'll have to google and find your way there on your own.

With your anxiety issues alone you might want to look into adding something with a balanced ratio of THC and CBD. It's worth a try Tim. You purchase from Crop King, and they have a new CBD strain that I believe is a balanced ratio.

Growing organic cannabis for 25 years. I'm mighty impressed Tim. Interesting, that the older I get the more sativa I desire. Lol!

I'd like there to come a time when its commonplace for a family or dwelling to be growing cannabis. What a nice vision not to be concerned about keeping it all a secret. Sometimes it frustrates me that I have to keep such a huge part of who I am tucked away. It feeds into that feeling like a criminal, which quite frankly pisses me off. Lol!

My first grow, and coincidentally my most satisfying, was done with CFLs. Then I started winning all these contests and all these lights showed up. They created an environment I have great difficulty in keeping under control and that lack of heat control has introduced me to the Borg. Now I get to learn to be tolerant of spider mites. You made the right choice with your lights.

:thumb:Old Bear is right on! Listen to your body when you meditate and when you work/play! Good hydration with plenty of good water is something a lot of us forget/neglect to do sometimes! The Cannabis certainly seems to help us act on what the body is asking for, be it moving, rest, drinking for dry mouth, or snacking for nourishment/munchies! It seems I eat what I need and little more when stoned but may binge when not stoned! Old bear is right on target! Sue have you noticed the recurring commonality is being tuned in to the natural functions of your body and what helps them? Breathing, drinking fluids, eating , relieving waste, moving, resting and if I remember sex!! The cannabis seems to act like a traffic cop directing traffic, follow its signals(go with the feelings)and it steers us in the right direction!:high-five:
I like you. I like you a lot. :battingeyelashes:  That was wonderful. I'll have you know I drank more water and shifted my position on the floor as I read that. :laughtwo: I work sitting cross-legged on the floor. Can't do furniture anymore.

You nailed it Tim. Go with your feelings. Feel bad? Stop and find a way to feel better. Just a little relief. People get all caught up in having to heal, when all your body's asking for is a little breathing time when you're not so damned determined to make things happen, so it can calmly and peacefully repair the damage to your strained systems.

Be tolerant with me guys. I have an energy stream building momentum about this subject and it's starting to pour out of me everywhere I go. These things can be relentless until I get them worked out and posted into the thread they need to be in.

Sex? I remember that activity. :laughtwo: My memories are sweet. Someday it won't all be memory anymore. Lol! I still have at least thirty years to make more magic happen. :battingeyelashes:

:rollit:Spider mites are a plague for growers under Hot lights and for many ornamental plants in my part of the world in general. Many plants never thrive long here due to spider mites. Well balanced Organic methods do seem to help make plants less susceptible to insects and disease, and more tolerant and faster recovering! :passitleft:Try rosemary infusion (crushed and soaked stuffed into a jar in the hot sun a few days or use oil if you have it) pressed and strained and with a little soap and lecithin added, on a trial basis for a homemade remedy, applied after washing the plants down with a fine but strong mist (both sides of leaves from top to bottom)and allowing to dry first. Repeating this may be needed. It will not get rid of all of them, but it sure slows them down a lot and can get you a harvest from the lighter infested plants! I have given up before and trashed budding plants that were dying and covered up with mites, but this was years ago growing in a hot room under HPS lights. Imported Lady bugs (first imported to Georgia to control aphids on pecan trees)now live year round in the walls of my buildings and when they are attracted to the grow lights they find my plants and keep them clean of anything, I suspect, since I no longer have spider mite problems ever show up inside my grows! I would wash the plants anyway (especially if you spray anything on them), since I don't want to smoke bugs/dust or anything but pure organic bud!:goodluck:

Budwashing is an absolute necessity in my grows. All that dust and dander don't need to be part of the package.

I've been living with the mites for months now. So far they haven't cost me anything, but I stay ahead of them. This time I decided to stop being so aggressive with sprays and use water. I'll wash the leaves thoroughly with a firm spray every couple days. That'll keep the numbers down without too much stress to me.

I figure they're just little earthlings Tim, and I can't get all angry and anxious about little earthlings trying to live. I don't need to let them overwhelm my plants but I don't want to go all ballistic either. Tolerance of all earthlings has led me down some untraveled paths from time to time. I'm certain I'll confuse a few members trying to live with the Borg.

BTW,I am planning on buying CKS latest balanced CBD/THC MMJ strain soon and grow it this coming year. It is claimed to Have 8% of each. Sounds good to me, since some of the weeds I smoked as a youngster were about that much THC and I liked them back then!(of course they were Sativa usually) The higher CBD levels are were I pin some hope on getting more AR pain relief through reductions in inflammation and a healthier balanced system!

My brain's shutting down for the night. Too many hours flying. I could probably use a lighter dosage tomorrow.

Goodnight everyone. See you in the morning. :hugs:
