SweetLeef's Gone Even More Mas Muy Loco - Perpetual - 4400W TopLED - SuperSoil

The joys of regular seeds :)

The Thunder Scouts are unknown still, although I think they should start showing soon. How many of them will be boys? There are 16 of them.

Also, I know I am taking a chance, but I have the males in a room upstairs from the ladies. They haven't started to open yet, but I plan on harvesting some pollen from each and then ...TO THE JUICER!!!

LOL wish I had a juicer to try with weed :cheesygrinsmiley:

Thanks for the photo update SweetLeef - Looks like a lot of healthy ladies reaching for the light and some really nice sugar coatings too :cheertwo:

The cat hasn't let me type very well lately - it's too cold and she knows how to stay warm - on me LOL

Hope all continues to go well over there on your end - you've got a lot going on my friend :cheesygrinsmiley:

:Hookah: :peace: :Hookah:

Wish you luck with those 16 Sweets.

Thanks Catman! Those kitties can be a real pain in the ass if you have plans on accomplishing anything. They will stop at nothing to make sure you are inconvenienced at the most inconvenient time.

Wish you luck with those 16 Sweets.

Thanks Reg!

Hey sweetleaf,
Are ya mixing soil over there?

No, not yet. Hours at work have been short lately due to the slow season, so paychecks have been pitifully small. Hoping to start amassing ingredients in March.

Best of luck with this wave of plants my friend!:) (reg seeds, ughh.. ) I have a ton of some nice strains but cant every justify running them and wasting my limited space!
Anyway best of luck with your crossing etc and best of buds to you and your Sweet!

Thanks Light!

Speaking of crossing, the males upstairs should be starting to open anyway here. I think I am going to attempt to make seeds with these males and the HarleSin that is in flower. I will attempt to pollinate one branch of HarleSin with each strain of male I have. Hopefully we'll have 5 seedy branches and nowhere else. Also, 5 crosses. I figure it's worth a shot. We're gonna use the HarleSin for oil anyway.

I got sucked into a series on Nflix and haven't been able to do anything else the past couple of days :bong:

I will be working in the tent tonight and want to get some pictures of the girls in flower. They are all looking really good :)

Hope all is well with all of you :)

Alright,

Flower tent is looking great right now. Budding has gotten under way.

HerleSin is a really beautiful plant. I super cropped her tops to even things up a little. Everybody else is looking happy and healthy as well. The gnats are still flying around and their numbers seem to be growing again so I will try and get some ladybugs tomorrow to add to the space. They should make quick work of them :)

I just jarred up the Thunder Cookies I harvested last week, and we got just under 2 ounces off the 4 girls, giving us 3.5oz from 15 plants. My this be the smallest harvest these tents ever see :high-five:

Anyway, let's take a look at the flower girls, shall we?

They are mostly in order from the bottom up, mostly.

Tomorrow I will be potting up the clones and the Amsterdam ladies.

About a week a way from putting the next batch of ladies into flower :)

Hope all is well with all of you :bong:

Quality over quantity is my motto Sweets.

I did a bunch of transplanting last night. The Amsterdam girls, the two clones I cloned, and the Tangamanga and Ref Afro that did get moved up with the other mothers. I moved the pretty much dead Pepermint Kush into a new pot with fresh soil also. I am not holding my breath, She's got two little side branches that are green and not dead. I think she's still fighting so I will do all I can to help her out.

The veg tent is looking really good again. I am so happy with the way things are going again. There were a few weeks there where I was really un-stoked about what was going on downstairs. It was very disheartening to see plants that were one day super happy and healthy. In the throws of death the next. The Harlequin and her clone did not make it. Everyone else did make it, though. And they have returned from the brink and are growing once again.

I moved the 8 tallest Thunder Scouts into flower last night. They are quite tall and haven't been topped or trained at all. All training and topping and defol came to a halt whilst I was dealing with the bugs. So moved the 8 tallest into flower. Moving them now should still keep the height manageable. The two tallest actually did get topped about a week ago, so they probably won't get much stretch on top anyway. Fingers crossed for girls:)

The 8 Thunder children left in veg will get topped and put through some training as well. They will get another 2 months in veg because I think I'll put the rest of the fem seed ladies into flower, that won't be until next month, or the first round of my flower girls finishes up :)

I will get some clones from a friend in about two weeks or so. Maybe 6 or 8 cuts of 4 strains. Timing should be perfect to have the cuts large enough to continue the cycle.

The Nursery's here in town don't have ladybugs yet, so I ordered some online. For $16 I am getting 1500 ladybugs, some sugar water they like, and a Tansy plant that is supposed to ward off ants and attract ladybugs. Should be here on Thursday :)

On a side note, Last night I planted 3 white turmeric and 3 yellow turmeric rhizomes. I also planted chives, to act as a companion in the grow space, as well as fennel, and purple ruffle basil. Should be fun in a few weeks :)

Garden is looking great, the second wave of my first perpetual cycle is underway :high-five: Really stoked on the garden at the moment.

I'm gonna snap some pics today while I am giving the fem girls some haircuts and train the Thunders. :)

Hope all is well in your garden :)

On the 1840s family farm in Oregon, tansy was considered a weed to be kept away from the cows.
They would bloat, spoil the flavor of their milk, and occasionally get seriously ill.
I spent a few sweaty summers clearing tansy from pastureland.

Last week, I was reading how Sepp Holzer in Austria solved the cow/tansy issue.
He switched to smarter cows !!!

I am mentally gearing up for my pollination attempts. Try to envision the entire process so I may anticipate and head off any potential problems at the pass.

The goal is to take pollen from each of the 5 males, and pollinate 1 branch for each male strain on the HarleSin, without pollinating the entire plant. Depending on how that goes I may try it with the Critical Sensi Star or the Strawberry Cough.

I am thinking I will go hand pollination instead of the bag method.

I will cover the branches I am going to pollinate with a plastic bag and I will get the rest of the plant WET. Then I will use a q tip to pollinate each branch with it respective pollen. Let it sit like that for a couple of hours, maybe three and then spray down the pollinated limbs, remove the bag from the rest of the plant and spray the whole thing again.

Anybody with experience with pollen from a male, does this sound like a solid plan for pollinating a select few branches, and not my entire crop :)

It's kind of like playing with fire.... But I've been doing that since I was a kid....

From reading Chronics journal and my own attempt at making fem seeds, I know that fem pollen doesn't seem to take flight quite like pollen from a male plant.

Hope all is well :high-five:

ive only pollinated a whole plant with my male gdp
and I think the pollen got on other plants at that time so I don't mess with regular males anymore

Thanks guys :)

Tonight was a bit of a let down. I got all geared up, had my plan set, got the tools ready and went in to harvest pollen, and came up empty. The boys aren't throwing pollen yet, despite have a couple of open flowers.. I'll give em' a couple days and try again.

Flower tent looks good and I was in the right place at the right time to snap some lights out photos of the flower girls. Let's take a look and I'll try and name them all correctly :laughtwo:
