You are correct, Sweets!! That HarleySin is a beauty!!! I am looking forward to her!Flower girls are looking great. That AMS is purdy too!

... Then I will use a q tip to pollinate each branch with it respective pollen.

Anybody with experience with pollen from a male, does this sound like a solid plan for pollinating a select few branches, and not my entire crop :)

Hope all is well :high-five:

I have never pollinated cannabis before but have hand pollinated a variety of other species. I prefer using a soft water colour type paint brush over q-tips. They tend to hold and release pollen better rather than just encapsulating it in cotton tangle. These brushes are also gentler on the flowers and easier to maneuver to reach into difficult flowers like orchids etc, not that C pistils are terribly hard to reach :)

Good luck, and if you need a 3rd party to verify the excellent seed quality later... :biglaugh:

Vis vobiscum

Last night I dreamt that everything in my house was covered in pollen from the boys. Like very covered. It was a mess :)

Good call on the water color brush OMe, I was just going to use q-tips because I have them around already. If I find myself in a store between now and when they start throwing pollen, I will pick one up. Thanks for the expert tip :high-five:

McD's

I thought I was the only one who's plants were in their dreams Sweets.
I'm really loving the training you've got going on with HarleSin.

I got a tiny bit of pollen off the Shit male today, so I put it on a branch of the HarleSin.

I hope pollen is as crazy as everyone fears and I get a shit ton of seeds from this. I will try again in a couple of days as well. Not sure if the rest of the males will open in time.

If any of the Thunder Scouts is a male, I will be pollinating it with a thunder scout female as well. Get that back cross going on :) as if I even know what I'm talking about :bong:

I'll snap pics soon, woke up from an epic nap 2 hours ago and I'm still out of it. Lazy tonight.

Hope all is well in your garden :)

Went out to walk to dog tonight and there were so many worms out and about. It had just rained and was lightly sprinkling.

I decided I couldn't wait any longer, and with this many worms about, why would I pay for worms to be shipped to me? So I went out to get some worms. I was outside for about 45 minutes and I got about 1/2# of worms.

They might be red wrigglers, they might be regular night crawlers. I'm not really sure, nor am I worried about it. I got some big juicy guys and a couple of babies. Mostly big guys.

I shredded up two local newspapers and mixed it with some rootie used supersoil, some dead cannabis leaves, some plant stalks, and some of my leaf mulch.

I drilled a bunch of holes in the bottom of the tote I used as the res for my hydro grow. I drilled a bunch of smaller holes around the top on the sides for air. I took the lid from a larger tub and am using that to catch any liquids that drip from the holes on the bottom. It's shallow so I'll have to keep an eye on it, but I'm really excited to get it rolling. I will go out a few more time when the nights are like this to collect more worms.

I added the crushed up shells of 2 eggs, and the peels of 2 tiny Thai bananas and a wet paper towel in one corner. I will add a little more food then that once there is about 25% left.

I'm pretty stoked, hope I can keep the worms happy. Well, I hope I can get them happy again, I'm sure they are wicked pissed off at the moment. Those things are fast and strong. It's been a great many years since I was a little kid catching worms to bait hooks and for the fun of it. Those things are wicked fast and surprisingly strong. A worth adversary. I hope to honor them by making a nice place for them to live and work.

I've gotta get to bed. Pictures tomorrow. Hope all is grew and green in your neck of the woods. :) :bong:

Nice score on the worms dude. Red wigglers may be a better fit in a shallow bin, but heck see what happens. I bet there are a shit ton of red wigglers for you to grab if you dig down to the bottom of your leaf pile, assuming it's sitting on the ground still in the same place it was. Nitecrawlers like to burrow deep, where as wigglers are happy living and working near the surface. That's why we like dee red wigglers.

Also don't be afraid to throw some minerals into your worm bin, and a little sand. If you have some dry amendments laying around sprinkle some in there. Oystershell flour, azomite, glacial rock dust, kelp meal, whatever, sprinkle a little on the top.

I like to keep my worm bin on the dry side of moist and feed it already composted materials, the better quality compost, the better the final VC product will be. And including minerals and dynamic accumulators is all the better, these things are broken down and provide a FULL range of nutrients. These composting processes allow for much nutrient cycling to occur before the vermicompost (VC) ever comes in contact with your soil. That's the power of high quality worm shit in conjunction with the soil food web, everything the plant need is there, and readily available. And mellow enough to sow seeds directly into, and powerful enough to carry a plant through flower.

Yup leaf pile is in the same place. I guess I'll need to use the hardware store gift card I got for Christmas to get a shovel :) Time to do some digging!

As far as composting goes, I'm gonna throw together a cheap countertop deal until I can get the Bokashi system up and running. After reading about Bokashi composting, I have no doubt it's how I want to roll. I'm gonna have the baddest, nastiest, bone crunching worms! Kim Chi meat eaters :high-five:

Would it be beneficial to add mycos to the worm bin, or is that totally pointless?

I will pick up some sand in the next couple days to give them some grit.

For anybody interested in what them hell I'm talking about when I keep saying "bokashi" check out this link Bokashi composting how to - Time To Recycle It's tells you what it is and how you can build your own. I will have to buy some stuff regularly for the system, which is a con. But I think the added nutrients and minerals from the meat and bones outweigh the downside. I think, anyway. Not to mention fermenting stuff is cool.

you got worms
im just messing wit ya man good job and Great Weekend to ya Brotha Sweet :thumb:

Great job on the wormbin, Sweet. I'll look up that compost system - mines just a bunch of old pallets nailed together and covered with carpet. Obviously can't put meat and dairy in mine because it would attract the rats and wild boar, which I'd rather not have in the garden. Loving your soil and worm info and CO's input. Thank you.

SO hey, I've got a question, What are these leaves that are coming from where pistils or balls should be?

Three or 4 of them have this going on, are these mutated balls, or just a mutated plant that is throwing out extra branches?

Here are a couple more I was able to snap before my phone died on me :)
