Stonecrusher's Backyard Bonanza - Bringing Out The Big Pots!

Autoflowers in the garage update.

I keep posting pics that look similar to the last ones, but this time I think the growth is evident. I held off posting updates for a week, and the plants are really took off. I am finally filling the SIP reservoirs to 3/4 full and the girls are loving it.

My sweet wife was over in Paonia CO last week and she drove over to Montrose where Build A Soil has their headquarters. She brought me home a present, some Micronized Build A Bloom, so Im using it every other watering to supplement, which I usually don't do, so this will be interesting to see how the auto girls respond. (I was kind of sad there was no cell service near Montrose, she texted asking what I might like from there and I would have loved a pack of seeds from Wes Slo). Anyway..
Using 1 TSP/gallon, also added some Quillaja, and Aloe to the feed to help spread water throughout the pots and add some vigor.

The Lowes/Fastbuds vs Home Depot/Ethos grow is really picking up.

The front Home Depot/Ethos is the Pineapple Runtz and it is looking like it wants to get big! It is funny cause this one was a seed that I thought didn't make it, then appeared in the Solo cup a week later.

Fastbuds 1 is a beaut! She has that classic 6pack a'la @Justin Goody and is into mid flower!!

Ethos Banana Daddy x Jealousy is making my mouth water. She has one thick cola and a few side branches that are really filling in. She is short but she is big around!

The Neem victim Fastbuds is still hanging in there, but If I get crowded conditions in the tent she will be first to go.

Another tent post. I like to get up in the morning, make coffee and stroll out to the garage for the first peek of the day. Is it just me or do they look bigger in the mornings??
Today I checked and the reservoirs were dry (except for the Lowes/Fastbuds 2 which is still smaller from the neem mistake). I gave each plant about .75 gal. I still haven't filled the reservoirs to capacity, which is a habit probably formed when I was overwatering young plants. Anyway my technique is to put a dowel into the fill tube and check for water. If there is any left in the res I don't water. Once it is dry I wait at least 12 hours, then add water. This grow I am adding micronized nutes every other watering, so about every 4 days.
What I am really hoping is to avoid "rusty" leaves all the way to the end. In my last indoor auto grow the plants had a deficiency (probably calmag), and while they grew some delicious buds, the leaves were all fried by harvest. I wasn't adding any nutes then and I think they took everything from the soil. I think for water only I would need at least a 7 gal pot with some good soil mix.
Now that I'm adding Build a Bloom with calmag I hope to keep them green all the way to chop.

Full tent and getting fuller. I think the front RT Home Depot/Ethos is going to get big!

Checking out the outdoor pair this morning. They are beginning to change colors just like my trees. I clipped a little flower from mid plant on each one and scoped it with my loop, sorry no fancy digital pics. I may break down at some point and buy a digital scope. But apart from sharing the pics, a loop works well.
The result was AK-47 has some amber, but also has some clear and cloudy. The Chem Dawg 4 is taking its sweet time with mostly cloudy trichs.
It would be convenient to harvest this weekend, but it would be a shame to miss the peak ripeness. My neighbors are probably ready to have the skunks eradicated from my yard. Choices..

AK-47 on the left, CD4 on the right. They look light and they are, but I anticipate this will be plenty for me and Mrs. Crusher along with a few friends. I console myself by saying at least I won't be throwing it away next harvest.

I seem to have a thing for spiders. Over the last couple of weeks I've been watching this girl. She is a black widow and we are sharing the garage. I'm still trying to decide what to do with her. She will eventually want to lay some eggs up there above the garage cabinet, and I am not really into that plan. I thought about relocating her, but where?

Now back to ganja. The garage tent is a constant source of enjoyment. Im still chasing the dream of growing a "large" autoflower. So far, the best I've done is 3.9oz dried weight from a Gorilla Cookies and it looks like the Fastbuds/Lowes plants are on track for a similar type/yield.

The Ethos/Home Depot team is showing promise. Especially the Pineapple Runtz. It has the look of a plant that is about to go for it! So please help from the cheering section.

Finally I want to show off my excellent Viparspectra XS 2500. All the light you need in a 2x4.

Ill probably try to catch her under an empty jar. Maybe I should blow a little smoke on her first. It might mellow her out.

I'd put off the harvest until it's time, and if the neighbors complain tell them it will all be over before the trick or treaters come by. :cheesygrinsmiley:

Autos are looking great, and I hope this helps: :cheer:

If you have a woodpile that seems to be their favorite hangout.

Glass jar and a piece of cardboard. Oh, and leather gloves.
So when relocating black widows the wood pile seems a good option. Until I want to burn some wood. So I will take her out to near the back fence under a bush or something. Leather gloves are definitely a good idea.

As far as harvesting I know you are right Shed. I'm just getting twitchy.. Waiting is the hardest part.. Tom Petty

Plants are beautiful Stone. Thanks for not killing the spider. If there's a fence just put her on it. She'll use it to catch quick meals while she figures out where to put her eggs. Happy Sunday!! 😎✌️

I'm still trying to decide what to do with her.
While I was harvesting my outdoor plants, I relocated about 20-30 little brown spiders back outside...I figure I owe them that, since they kept my plants pretty bug free the whole time...
I never kill spiders anyhow- they're the good guys..👍

I caught her with this empty Banana Purple Punch jar and took her out to the rock garden. I feel bad relocating her outside. She had a pretty sweet setup in the garage and now will be facing the elements.

Trim time from the remote garden. RR and I decided to chop his plants yesterday. The Afghan Super Skunk got huge fatties, the Random Seed from a Friend got leggy and has a couple of hangers worth of decent nugs (great odor though). I composted all the lafry branches from both plants since I still have the plants in my own yard to cut and process.
I am trying a new process. This is the first year I have a drying tent rather than just hanging in my 30% RH garage. Im trying to keep the RH ~60% for up to 2 weeks before jarring. I even bought a new carbon filter for the extractor fan so Mrs. Crusher can have friends over.
It is tempting to just cut my plants too. But I am being patient and waiting for peak ripeness for my girls.

They have a "please take me now" look about them.

This is a baby sized cola!

Trimmed and ready to hang.

Summers over.

Harvest is in.

Oh hello gorgeous!! As long as she is happy and feels safe where she is at and gets plenty of food. She will most likely not travel. If she does lay a egg sack be careful when removing it because her instincts will be to attack whatever's after her young. I have a lot of respect for this spider. She is also very capable of spraying you if she feels threatened, with a combo of venom and webbing. I had several black widows as pets. Having small kids I personally would jar the arachnid for the safety of the kids, pet's and the spider. They can live a good number of years. Im glad you see the beauty in her. 💚

Damn, she was a fat one!
Congrats on the chop🪓✂️

Good idea, drying in the tent- you'll have way more control than just hanging it in the garage👍

Thanks Carcass. That cola was so big! I am a bit concerned how it will dry, but good problem right?
Hey I also want to thank you for your most EXCELLENT Carhooks design. I use them to train my autoflowers and they do the trick.

Hi JL,
I almost decided to leave her in place and watch for the egg sack. She was nice company in the garage. She mostly just hung out and minded her own business. But she was also hiding in the gap between the cabinets and the ceiling during the daytime. If she laid an egg sack I wouldn't be able to see it. So yesterday I used an empty jar, captured her gently, and released her in the most sheltered outdoor spot I could find in my backyard. (Shed said I should put her in the woodpile. But Id be a little paranoid every time I brought wood in:)

I am a bit concerned how it will dry,
I had one like that on the Critical Kush- it dried fine, but took 10 days to do it...that's good, though-the longer, the better as far as the flavor is concerned... :smokin:

Thank you for the compliment!- I'm glad the hooks caught on- they sure simplify some things...👍

My outdoor plants are ready. I scoped them yesterday and there are enough amber trichromes for me. Id say 20%. Ive been remembering @Grand Daddy Black talking about how they creep up on you. He's right, just a couple of days ago there was almost no amber..Now its changing fast so today is the day!
This has been a rough week for one of my grow buddies, SG. He's in the hospital with a diagnosis I wouldn't wish on my best friend, or worst enemy even. They're keeping him there 4 weeks to try to save his life and its going to be a fight. I'm going over to his place today to cut his summer plant down and get it ready to hang. Life just changed for him, and all of a sudden. He has a big place with 6 acres, and a large garden he and his wife started so kids with disabilities can come get their hands dirty planting, caring for, and harvesting.
I'm just sitting here kind of stunned. He is my best friend and I can't quite imagine how much less fun I'd have without him.

So sorry to hear about your friend Crusher. Hoping for a positive outcome.
