Stonecrusher's Backyard Bonanza - Bringing Out The Big Pots!

You talking about the 2 pair with the neon green handles Crusher? šŸ˜
I didn't realize I left the zebra scissors in the trim bin. Thats for when the grandkids stay over and I put them to work:) All other trimming is done in a manly fashion.

Hi and happy Sunday. This is a two part update since I just finally finished putting all the outdoor grow in bags and jars. Then Ill show off whats happening in the garage.

The outdoor season is truly over in my yard and nothing left but sticks. The 30 gallon pots did really well this year and weather pretty much cooperated. The quality of the AK-47 and Chem Dawg 4 is high and so am I:)

I remember when this stick was a baby seedling.

Trimmed the last of the batch outdoors. I got tired of cleaning up the dining table inside.

Warning: This gallery contains pictures of plant abuse.
The gallery of shame! This plant zoots OK, but it lost all of its terps during bloom and tastes like hay. Into the compost with you! You were queen of the sips, now you will become food for next years girls.

Here are some of the random branches and larf that I just cant deal with. I haven't documented this before but it wasn't the only bucket I tossed.

Back to the land of the living. Inside the garage tent my autos are taking their own sweet time to ripen. Im 94 days from breaking soil WTF??

The Fastbuds/Lowe's plant turning purple is my favorite and it looks like fall..until you scope the trichs and see lots of clear!

Another Fastbuds is foxtailling like crazy, still no amber though. She is the size and stature of a volleyball.

The Ethos Pineapple Runtz is starting to get some leaf color too. It was a late bloomer so I expect it to go a couple more weeks.

If you read this far you probably know I had plants growing in friends yards this summer. More like my friends grew plants from seedlings I started for them. My buddy SG's AK-47 netted about 1.5 LBs dried weight and as far as flavor and effect it is superb. SG, however, is still in the hospital and hasn't seen his harvest except for picutres. His advice for the rest of us: "Do today what you think you want to do when you retire".

Thanks friends and happy Sunday

The good the bad and the optimistic Crusher?

Should I be glad to hear that your friend is still hospitalized? Initially, things sounded dire.

SG is getting chemo and has been in the hospital since a routine blood test came up ugly, over 3 weeks now. He's fighting and so far has crushed the record for distance walked around the hospital unit where he is staying. This week he's dealing with pneumonia and infections since the chemo killed all of his white blood cells. Its a rollercoaster, and we don't really know what to expect right now.

I would wish you all a good morning today. I can't.

Here are my plants. They grew up in a time when I was at least optimistic.
I understand my friend.
Let's hope for the best. :Namaste:

To keep myself distracted and hopefully sane I spent some money on the garage setup this week. I'm definitely distracted, but I'm not sure about the sane part.

The garage gets COLD this time of year with temps in the 40s and 50s. Over the last couple of years I've been using a little space heater mounted on a DIY shelf and controlled using an Inkbird thermostat. It works but I've always worried about a fire or just using it inside a tent where the humidity is high. I also had a stand alone humidifier that takes up a lot of space in the 2x4 tent.

I started to upgrade this fall by purchasing an AC infinity humidifier for the drying tent. For the first time I really focused on the dry and cure process and it definitely improved the quality of my finished buds. So it wasn't much of a leap to get the new tent heater and a controller. I guess I should start saving now for an AC unit for next summer.

I anticipate great things from this new setup.

Nice set-up Crusher. Aside from the environmental equipment, I'm really digging that you have so many cabinets in your grow area. Is there grow stuff in them? :Rasta:

Hi GDB,
I am really anticipating great things from the new setup. I am particularly proud that we can still park one car in the garage! However, Mrs. Crusher is a little annoyed that her car interior smells like weed after the fall harvest:)
It would be so cool to have those cabinets all filled with perfectly organized grow stuff. But as one might guess they contain the usual assortment of jars of old nuts and bolts, used sandpaper, and mismatched tools I use to beat my home and yard into relative submission.
My grow stuff mostly goes in and out of plastic bins, shuffled around in Tetris stile, while I curse and look for that one thing I can't locate.

Ha! I'm the same Crusher, always looking for something -- and usually something that I "just saw" a few weeks ago!

My grandfather used to tell me, "Boy, you'd forget where your nuts were if they weren't itching all the time." :)

Ive been working out the bugs of the new tent climate controls. So far Ive determined that one can become too obsessed with perfecting the VPD. And that a controller with the phone app gives me one more reason to stare at a screen like a bored teen. You can also accidentally turn up the humidity to 80% overnight without even knowing it. But as I get the hang of it I am dialing one more part of the equation.

I am chopping the two leaders of the Fastbuds/Lowes vs Ethos/Home Depot SIP off!
Im finally finding some amber trichromes in the 2x4 tent at day 100+/-. Today is Sunday and Im going for it! At least 50% of it.

Chopped:
In the back corner of the tent we have Ethos Banana Daddy x Jealousy.

It thinks it is a football. It has a cola bigger than any of this summers outdoor plants, just not as tall. I cut it up a bit before it went into the drying tent to give things room to breathe.

Also Chopped:
Fastbuds is a purple mystery and was really striking. It looks worse for the wear, but I'm super excited to give it a whirl. It was such a beauty to grow its gotta be great!

The second Fastbuds is another random from the pack. It got off to a rough start when I double dosed it with Neem Oil as a seedling. It has made a fair comeback. Small but dense and interesting looking. More on the Volleyball side of things.
No amber yet so I'm letting her ride.

Finally the Ethos Pineapple Runtz. It started late so Im giving it another week. It is still drinking and clear trichs.

This is a slow time for the grow.
The summer outdoor harvest is in, dried, trimmed and curing. I have 2 autoflower plants hanging to dry and 2 more finishing off late bloom in the tent. I had to break up the fattest cola in the drying tent as it was starting to get some signs of mold between buds so I shucked off the biggest ones and trimmed the affected spots off.
I am waiting to get some amber trichromes on the tent plants then I'll take them down too.
This autoflower harvest is kind of icing on the cake after the summer outdoor grows. I have a 20 gallon tote full of buds curing in jars and bags and I am noticing some of the outdoor buds are getting really good as their cure progresses. Especially the AK-47 strains!
Last night Mrs. Crusher and I sampled some keef (sp?) on top of our normal bong loads. Despite growing and indulging frequently in our harvest, we still don't smoke heavily so the extra kick of the keef sent us to lala land and early to bed. Talk about zooted! I guess we'll save that for special occasions:)

Here's whats left in the tent, an Ethos Pineapple Runtz, and a Fastbuds random 5pack seed. They were slow starters so they are a little late finishing too.

My AC Infinity system is getting more dialed each day as I learn how to set up parameters. I figured out that I have to hold the temp at ~73F and then set the humidity to a VPD trigger, and the exhaust fan to a high temp trigger. It is turning the colt/hot garage into a veritable greenhouse! I was skeptical when other members posted squiggly graphs that I was supposed to understand.

I found this right on top of my soil dump yesterday. Any ideas what the heck it is?

Of course I had to Google it and it is an Imperial Moth or a Spinx Moth. I just have to question how did it get right on top of my pile of dirt? I have become wary of moths and caterpillars so I want to avoid more of these.

Vpd doesn't always have to be perfect to work.
Try and keep your temps in line and rh low and it will fluctuate.
It's basically a graph telling you how close to perfect your room is.
Perfect is great but not always attainable.
As long as temps aren't too high and rh is low things will work out and the buds will build normally.
It's when temp and rh are too high that you need to be concerned.
Good work my friend.

It was probably attached to a branch somewhere nearby and got knocked loose and blown over. I'd leave it where it is and let it get eaten by a bird this winter after it hatches.
Well that is a kind thought, but I tossed it over the fence for the neighbors birds.
