Stinky Snid's Crop King Journal Contest - Northern Lights & White Widow

Great idea using the Jiffy cube container as a humidor. I may have to try that. But woulding the humidity be worse there? Maybe for curing...but still +rep for thinking outside the box!

is this the Jiffy cube container your talking about? I only used this as a holding tray as I trimmed them on the plate. They're hanging inside my cardboard lined unit. Humidity is stable at 65%

Thanks for the reps and support. Hope you stick around for this next batch. KiG :green_heart:cheers

Awesome how long was she start to finish nice yield at 157g wet what approximately is cured weight

She took 15 weeks from day one as a sprout till harvest day. So... 105 days total. I'm hoping it's 70 %of that weight, but I may be wrong and you'll lose 70%.. Thanks so much Lupey, glad to have you here.

Can someone let us know about estimating dry weight?

Mar. 14th, it's Monday that's for sure. The weekend is never long enough, isn't it? As it was a busy weekend indeed. Back to the grind now and my daily after work routine. Weigh, record, adjust stakes and then nap. Hoo hah!

Ellabella day 49 : 8.4 lbs/ph6.0
mar14ella8_4.jpg
Every growth shoot has grown by 1 cm minimum since the last true training session. I shimmied the states down the shoots to keep them in line, but no trimming or major adjustments. I've decided *officially* to repot Ellabella into a larger pot once she had developed a large root ball in this current pot.

Winnie day 49 : 7.4 lbs/ph6.2
mar14win7_4.jpg
same deal for Winnie, I only took one leaf from the lions mane again. All her grow tips are green, and Green means go around here too. One more day of growth before another haircut.

Leialoha day 41: 7.2 lbs/ph6.5
mar14leia7_2.jpg
quite a few shoots outgrew their stakes. Needed to cut a few longer ones to hold down the strong branches at either main end. Every tip height is again even and growth should be aswell.

Ive found it to be about 20-25% of your wet weight approx.

OK then, accounting for the stems... Wish I'm guessing is around 30g wet, I'll go with 25% of 120... So estimated dry weight is +or- 30g. Sounds about right. Thanks rhettorikz I just watched a Jorge Cervantes dvd and that's what he said you'll lose 70% of the weight. Couldn't remember myself.

Mar. 15th, What a difference a few days can do for the girls. No nips or tucks in a couple days and they've rebounded greatly. I gave them all a round of foliar spray, g/m/B, under the leaves and rinsed 5 minutes later. My Ph is climbing as the pots dry so I'm weary of locking out nutes. So I hope a foliar feed might allow the plant to use some of them. Also... Weigh, record, pics!

Ellabella day 50 : 8.2 lbs/ph6.0
mar15ella8_2.jpg
just a few new stakes to add for her expanding secondary shoots. She has a slow side to her branches, I've left this elevated to spur on growth there.

Winnie day 50 : 7.2 lbs/ph6.0-6.5
mar15win7_2.jpg
Winnie's pot is getting very dry, this is when my stakes become a bad training method. All my stakes are being pulled up out of the dry soiless mix. Ice cut a few longer ones to hold the ends down but the secondary shoots will be tugging at the stakes until I can water the pot. Her lion's mane is developing nicely into two growth tips.

Leialoha day 42 : 6.8 lbs/ph6.5
mar15leia6_8.jpg
One thing I've noticed of Leialoha is that her secondary shoots are rather slow to grow. But conversely her outer ends growth is stretching quickly. Still no pistils at week six, I'm thinking she'll be a 100 day plant like my Maria who's going on day 107 and she's at least a week from ready.

Till tomorrow, KIG everyone :green_heart:cheers

Beautiful looking ladies! Stella is mesmerizing. Honestly I kind of want to get a giant print of her with that gorgeous symmetry. Well done Snid! I hope my plants turn out to be half as gorgeous as yours. :bravo:

Do you keep fan leaves tucked or straighten them back out each day

Hey Lupey, ya I tuck away the larger fans every day. Every leaf stem that is "blocking" a growth tip At the internodes gets either clipped or tucked under. This allows for the new shoots to grow unobstructed. This is on photoperiod plants though. My auto is getting very special treatment, she's getting pushed to the limits. For autos I would advise only minimal snipping and much more leaf tucking so it's less stressed.

Haha thanks Kyu, let's wait s couple more weeks and we'll see how I do. Soon I'll let Ellabella stretch and I hope to take some clones. Every growers dream is to have found his perfect phenotype, so cloning this Stella is my current goal.

extreme training mate great job:high-five:
Thanks gyftobill, that Christmas tree you got in the POM is magnificent... Hell yeah! My training time is all that keeps me sane while I wait for the autos to start flowering. As for the photoperiods, I want a hammock like light addict. But I'll settle for a bonsai bush like kanizas. I'm really excited about Ellabella, I want some clones but I need vertical growth for that. :thanks:

Your training skills are on point Snid! How tall are the regular plants going to be once in flower? Does training slow down the auto once it starts throwing bud?
I meant: do you continue training the auto once it throws bud?

My training will go right into the flower stretch for the autos, it will be much more Lst than all the nips and tucks I'm doing now though. Currently I'm almost at the point where I can't have anymore shoots. I'm actually thinking of topping the end tips since she hasn't shown pre flowers yet. After the stretch I'll just be guiding branches towards open canopy spaces to fill it up. I'm thinking the photoperiods will stay rather short, I'll grow the horizontally until I have no more space. Which is just a bit larger than their pots. I'm hoping to flower 4 girls in a 27"x27" tent.

Back to the autos... I'm really pushing the limits on the little gal, I wouldn't advise doing what I'm doing for new auto growers. My last grow I did Lst through out for two plants and topped my smallest, and if you check my other journal you'll see my little runt Maria is going to be the biggest of the three. Just topping her is fine, then lst after that is perhaps more feasible and more forgiving. My Maria is a better example of a proven topping, this little Leialoha is my pet experiment. I hope all goes well and she is magnificent, thanks for your input and interest.

Mar. 16th, just a short and simple update today. Not much going in the nursery for these three ladies. No waterings required yet, and very little time to train today.

Ellabella day 51: 7.8 lbs
mar16ella7_8.jpg
I put my fishing weight on her twin double topped shoots at her pinnacle. I've got eight tips growing!!

Winnie day 51: 7.0lbs
mar16win7_0.jpg
nothing to report all is well and wonky in freaktown.

Leialoha day 43: 6.6 lbs
mar16leia6_6.jpg
it looks like her fan leaves are becoming skinnier is that a sign of stress or just phenotype attributes. Anyway she's doing good with her secondary growth. I'll likely let her be for a few more days without pruning.

That's that... KiG everyone :green_heart:cheers
