Stinky Snid's Crop King Journal Contest - Northern Lights & White Widow

Just thought I would help ya with the pic that didn't show up. Looking great so far. Your girls are about as old as mine so I enjoyed reading so far!

Mar. 7th, OK...live update number two. Today was just as it was last time. Weigh, record, pic... Repeat. Ellabella red tinge is still very much apparent. Picked up an air pump and stone for my water bucket. Lol went to the pet store for an air pump almost came home with a damn lizard, good thing it was too much initial work to get started (reminds me of setting up my grow) and we decided maybe not.

Ellabella day 42 : 10.8 lbs
mar7ella10_8.jpg

The flux training is continued today, I've foliar fed her a 5ml in 1litre of npk 5-15-10, I also poured about 200ml in the center of her pot. If this doesn't correct itself in a few days I'll have to flush. Cuz I've given her plenty of potassium and phosphorus through Foliar feeds.

Winnie day 42 : 9.0 lbs
mar7win9_0.jpg

Winnie's secondary shoots are growing quickly, I've suppressed the end growth by keeping them below the other tips.

* to have one branch tip grow higher keep all other that are currently above it below the tip you want to raise with stakes or ties*

Leialoha day 34 : 9.4 lbs
mar7leia9_4.jpg

Back in the dojo today, staking and removing them over and over help make the shoots flexible while still green, they bend to where you bent them last and then you go a tad further until you're horizontal. That's basically what I did with my darling today.

Well!! I guess that's that. :sleep:Time for a nap:sleep:

KiG everyone :green_heart:cheers

What red tinge do I speak of?? Well let me show you, since you obviously can't see it in the other pics. I should have looked at them after uploading to see resolution quality.

Ellabella's main shoot end tip that has been topped, new leaves coming out started a little purple and now it's like totally red man..:tokin:

These are the very top new leaves, also from a topped tip

exciting! :thumb:
Yes sir. Stay tuned for the rest. I hope not to disappoint.
You got it down to a science brother...Everyone has there own way:goodjob:

Isn't that the case! I can't get enough of seeing different styles and techniques for growing.
awesome. My smiles had red steamed fan leaves but healthy I'm to new to know why really
Ellabella's condition is not getting better as of earlier today. I think my soil ph has risen up some. Will need to do some more testing tomorrow. I've ordered a blue lab Ph pen and tds meter, I'll have things right soon.... I hope.

Anyone have any advice for this red leaf situation?

KiG :green_heart: thanks for all your comments and support everyone. It really goes a long way in my mind...cheers

Mar. 8th, another day gone by... All is as it should be in the nursery, and flower shop too. I did a flush on Nadine today she's going in the dark on Friday morning for a Sunday harvest and Maria is:drool:... ( little peek into my other journal)

Onto The younglings. Same old routine, getting them adjusted before pics today. I may start doing before and afters of training sessions, The changes are becoming very pronounced when I do some training.

Ellabella day 43 : 10.2 lbs
20160308_145924.jpg

Standard training again today, she have to work out the last original flux tip I just topped. All end have been topped now. Be there or be square is what she's telling me, she almost fits perfectly in the frame.

Winnie day 43 : 8.8 lbs
mar8win8_8.jpg

Her lion's mane is ridiculous... It's as if she trying to flower with leaves, the leaves are spiralling out from the node. Like a colaidascope Thingy. Tres bizzare!

Leialoha day 35 : 9.2lbs
mar8leia9_2.jpg

My darling child is the best, she just loves my training sessions. I've just noticed some clawing of her larger fan leaves. Also it's dark green leaf ends are leading me to Think a nitrogen toxicity, I'll cut back her grow nutes on next feed.

Daily updates are so much easier and faster than going into my note book every time. Another update tomorrow, same bat time same bat channel.

KiG everyone :green_heart:cheers

How's it looking today?

It seems they are improving at the top tip leafs. But the end tip is still pretty red. I'm hoping that the top ones are an indication that she is in recovery. I'll wait a couple more days before flushing and restarting nutes again..

end shoot tips

top tips

I've ordered a sick ass bluelab Ph pen and tds meter, they will make this not so Ph perfect nutes easier to adjust. I've been using Ph strip paper and it's yellow or yellow for 5.5.and 5.8.so I usually go for 6.0 according to the damn paper tabs. I need precision... You Go cheap, You grow cheap! Lol that's my credo since I started, Ive got the time to put into why not the money...right! Just like any other hobby. Anyways I'm just yapping my gums here, so. Thanks for being the man, KIG :green_heart:cheers

Mar. 9th, lots of pictures today! A busy afternoon down in the nursery today, Wonky Winnie and her freakish growth will earn herself her own posting. For now let's get to some of today's training and defol pics.

Ellabella day 44 : 10.4 lbs
mar9ella10_4.jpg
not much going on with Ellabella today, just some minor adjustments of her stakes. Keep the flux alive, her tips are green below the red ends of the leafs.. I hope she's turned the corner on the exhibited red tinge symptoms.

Leialoha day 36 : 8.8 lbs
mar9leia8_8.jpg
Leialoha before the days training session. I decided to defoliated her leaves that were covering the center part of the plant. Apparently a nono for autos.:) we'll see. I also tucked the largest fans under her canopy, they will die... Super Lst, she will decide when they are to be dropped.
20160309_150810.jpg
check out her frame now, fluxing her stuff like a pro "photo" plant.

Next update coming up in a few, till then KiG everyone :green_heart:cheers

Mar. 9th, it's a wonky Winnie picture extravaganza. Let's take a look, eh. She didn't get much training today her stakes were still solidly holding.

Winnie day 44 : 8.6 lbs
mar9win8_6.jpg
standard pic of her mainline frame

Now let's take a look at her lion's mane.
20160309_151514.jpg

Spiralling leaves emitting from the one stem growth tip

20160309_151451.jpg
Look at this clump of leaf stems

Well!! Upon closer inspection and a little leaf spreading, I've found something grand. She's has split her growth tips, there are now two growth tips at that end.

A self topping?

What a weird and extraordinary day for Winnie the freak, just like a box of chocolates... Eh?

KiG everyone :green_heart:cheers

My Revolver in my last grow journal did something very similar following some late LST. Was fascinating to watch grow.

Both it and the red color could just be their way of telling you they're a bit angry at ya for working them over. Kids don't always love the rules and discipline from breaking those rules. :)

They'll thank ya in the end.

Awesome looking plants. Those stems are fat! Very nice, man!

why thank you CMJ, glad you've taken a seat to watch these babies bloom. Long way to go still, thanks for the compliments mun... :Namaste:

Great journal man following with my nl auto grow
Thanks lupey, I appreciate the encouragement and... The Competition.:helpsmilie:

You are quite wise for a someone who doesn't know anything :) I really hope you are right. It's only a tad bit longer then they can be free of my Lst'ing. They better be glad that their not wearing electronic shock collars. I've been alot tougher verbally aswell, and b%@ch slapping them around to make them understand who's boss. Rotflmfao. it worked with Nadine. As always, you da man!

KiG everyone :green_heart: Till tomorrow :peace:

Looking Awesome in here Snid, good choice on the bluelab PH meter, same as what i use :)
I've watched too many jorge Cervantes YouTube videos. Every two minutes he's checking Ph and tds levels. In his new Zealand accent... It's veeery important! The best investment you can make other than your lights. Not sure why it's the last thing on my grow list to have bought. (other than a carbon filter). Anyways I'm hoping this can allow to control of my inbound nutrients and outbound run off to keep the soiless mix Ph steady. Thanks for the words of praise, I appreciate it. :Namaste:
