Still Growing - SoCal Hybrids & Mexican & Colombian Sativas Under Sun Natural Systems

Re: Still Growing- SoCal Hybrids & Mexican & Colombian Sativas Under Sun Natural Syst

Yep, they all grow under sun systems exclusively :) But I have to say that new soil really pushes the stem diameter more than I've had before in early veg. They also stopped having micronutrient tiny flaws, and they are not bothered by insects. Compost tea really put them on the growth track while before my soil was full of compost. A lot of it can also be attributed to genuine hybrid vigour I think. Well, let's just say it made a difference to go with Doc Bud's advice concerning soil. A lot of new possibilities open with keeping them at nutrienr restraint. Fascinating how little they really need and how well they respond to low ppm of NPK.

I think I saw it in passing, but I have to come back and take a better look :)

that is a huge tree man, like real trees. Not bushes, trees. MJ is considereda bush but this is a freaking tree :smoke2:

my dream was always to sit under a chair and a table hidden from the sun in the shadow of some tall sativa girls.

this one was special :)

Re: Still Growing- SoCal Hybrids & Mexican & Colombian Sativas Under Sun Natural Syst

Yeah, they were reaching 3,5 m last year which is around 12-13 feet. But I don't know what genetics will come through with Ultra Dog. Reasonably I'd say they will reach over 2 metres, and then the rest depends on what they're carrying and what the weather is like. Aurora Ultra phenos will lean more on the short indica silhouette, but I never saw neither NYCD or nor Chem Dog '91 outdoor, so I cannot say what these phenos will bring. :lot-o-toke:

Re: Still Growing- SoCal Hybrids & Mexican & Colombian Sativas Under Sun Natural Syst

how in intresting, i just dropped some NYCD outdoors these days

i guess we'll both have to know the hard way :smoke2:

I remember those. This will be fun to watch these little ones grow like that. They look ready for the adventure Conradino.

Hmmm yeah this is Soma's creation which legend says he got from his friend. Sativa-dominant for sure and only partly linked to Chem Dog/Sour Diesel family in original version. Actually on the website he says it's a Mexi x Afghani cross so I don't know :) It usually gets A+ rating on weed blogs, and is greatly appreciated as a daytime high. I hope yours gonna turn as a top bud, and if you get a good pheno and grow it right she's gonna produce for ya :) :Hookah:

Re: Still Growing- SoCal Hybrids & Mexican & Colombian Sativas Under Sun Natural Syst

I so envy you C23! Love the garden man. Plants just look different then what I'm use to. They look wild (for lack of better word)! Great journal.

Yep they are wilder cause they are formed by random forces: sun, wind, rain, and there's only so much to do as to help sometimes when a serious thing happens like hail for example or thunderstorm with heavy wind. Also outdoor topping is almost exclusively the only way to train as LST is virtually impossible with taller plants. But I've seen some cool outdoor scrogs in NorCal grows, very cool :) Still, probably you have to work with shorter strains :Hookah:

yeah im familiar with that pheno and of the legend, he named it after nyc cause of 9/11 right?

im doing barneys version tho, not sure if its the same version but mixed up a little or its their own creation.

i wasnt gonna grow in the summer anyway, too busy of anything to do really anything else

just gonna ride em if it goes well gonna pop some more :smoke2:

Re: Still Growing- SoCal Hybrids & Mexican & Colombian Sativas Under Sun Natural Syst

I'm not familiar with Barney's version, might be a ripoff or just copycat strain. Their genetics is unstable at times, but when they're good they're good. Outdoor you can just leave it to grow by itself providing there's enough rain.

Re: Still Growing- SoCal Hybrids & Mexican & Colombian Sativas Under Sun Natural Syst

yeah exactly thats my point in it, the flaws and merits of an outdoor garden that nature intended. You gotta deal with a lot more but the reward is big.

my biggest problem till now was seeking a location that sees the sun going one way to another, outdoor takes a lot of planning to find that sweet spot, well i dont have to tell you ;)

we hear things from the goverment about legalization in the summer, if it passes by i have found a place like that in property of mine, sees the sun from the time he peaks off the distant mountains till the minute it sets at the ones across.

if that law passes and i can legally grow up to X number, well you know whats going to be after that

electric fence outdoors covering a small area of goverment approved grow, too paranoid? :hmmmm:

Re: Still Growing- SoCal Hybrids & Mexican & Colombian Sativas Under Sun Natural Syst

Legalization in Greece sounds nice. Here it's not gonna happen any time soon. Remember to check the soil you find on the spot, it can be good and it can be lacking. Till if you have to and make sure there are no animals.

Re: Still Growing- SoCal Hybrids & Mexican & Colombian Sativas Under Sun Natural Syst

thanks for the tips neighbour, i believe if we are there then Italy is on its way too, the european union looks to strike back at us with economy and lets face it this is an untapped market.

ive done my research about outdoor problems prio to hooking up the little ones, the soil has been enriched with a lot of stuff couple of inches barried, when the plant gets there roots are gonna love it

looking forward to your monsters :)

Re: Still Growing- SoCal Hybrids & Mexican & Colombian Sativas Under Sun Natural Syst

Just doing a drive thru. Great to see ya throw your girls out there for some 'real' sun. Mine are fixing to get throw out in the 'back' 40. Hey really cool thing,,, here in Oregon we got legalization passed. And we've the first place in the world from what I understand that allows one to grow. Anyone,,,,, not just medical card holders. I here they can grow 4 plants per house hold. I'm going to get my cards on the wall for one last year. I pay for 4 cards so I have 24 adult plants and a ton of product on hand. 4 plants woodn't work for me. I like to try all the strains. And as fast as they are coming out I'll never try all of them. Cards here are about 200 apiece here. The 800 we spend more than is recouped come fall.
Girls are looking hungry for the space. One thing about pot, it grows to allotted space. Keepem Green

Few pics of Grape Ape and Grape Dog which are about to start flowering in a day or two, both confirmed gals at this point.

Grape Ape looks really healthy and green, but Brix suck. I took a reading today and it's 9. Either this soil wasn't meant to be or she's just undearchiever or it's too much rain lately. Maybe I'll be able to push it to acceptable level of 12-14 later on with calcium carbonate for which I'm still waiting.

Grape Dog under LST. Really weird pheno, it looked like a male initially with long internodal distance and minimal branching, but occured to be a female after all after I saw the right preflowers on a clone. Budsites seem to be made for quite compact colas, and leaves are short and thick. Nothing like Grape Ape though, so she just had to take after NYCD/Chem Dog '91 I guess. I didn't take a new Brix reading here, I'm waiting for more foliage.
