Still Growing - SoCal Hybrids & Mexican & Colombian Sativas Under Sun Natural Systems

Re: Still Growing- SoCal Hybrids & Mexican & Colombian Sativas Under Sun Natural Syst

Small intimate weddings are best! Spend your money on nice things together.......

Sorry to sound like a simpleton; what's a rice wash? And after three days what ratio of milk to rice wash do I mix?

:thankyou:

Soak your rice in warm water for 10 minutes. Keep the water, which will now be full of starch. That's food for bacteria, which you need to invite. Pour it in the jar and put a paper towel on. You want to keep the oxygen flow. After 3 days pour any milk inside until the jar is full. Wait 2-3 more days until lactobacillus acidophilus colonizes the brew and changes fat into cheese. It's ready now.

Congratulations on the nuptials Conradino!!! Big fan of marriage here. May you have a lifetime of joy and laughter together. Good luck with the honeymoon travels.

I was just researching the lactobacillus acidophilus the other day. It looks like something I should be incorporating at some point. Do you see an appreciable difference using it?

The plants look marvelous. Even your challenges become successes in the end.

Here you go Bapple. This is a very decent tutorial. Hope it helps.

Appreciate it Sue. Thanks

Thx a lot, Sue. I sure hope our marriage is gonna last :)

For the lacto it's something I like to use in flowering, especially when I feel I can improve the soil structure that way. You have to treat it as a light living conditioner similar to myco-bacterial inoculant, which I always use from the start. I'll use it with water this time and then with calcium carbonate for which I'm waiting. It seems to work fine for me, and at least It never does any harm. I'll be checking the Brix after I use it to see if it influences mineral uptake.

Re: Still Growing- SoCal Hybrids & Mexican & Colombian Sativas Under Sun Natural Syst

I purchased some calcium carbonate at Doc's suggestion. What ratio of calcium carbonate do you use? How often would you apply the mix during flowering? Inquiring minds want to know Conradino. :laughtwo:

If you two have been together for 7 years and you're still laughing, I like your chances.

Re: Still Growing- SoCal Hybrids & Mexican & Colombian Sativas Under Sun Natural Syst

Sue, I'm going to start with 1/2 tbs per 1,5 L, which is around 0,4 gal very roughly. I'll be mixing that with lacto to keep the soil highly permeatable, and also keep PH swings in norm as lacto drops it temporarily. My soil for flowering is an experiment though, so I'll get Brix reading to check what happens. So far it worked nicely although there's a huge variation in nitrogen department from strain to strain. That's the biggest difference I have noticed so far, but if it works better for the buds I'm all up for it. No pests is a big advantage on the other hand.

Re: Still Growing- SoCal Hybrids & Mexican & Colombian Sativas Under Sun Natural Syst

Congratulations!!! :partyboy: Me and the bf didn't get the "courage" to do that yet :laughtwo: we just celebrated our 7 year anniversary and if we will ever make it official we will do same, small and sweet

Glad that baby made it, little fighters aren't they :circle-of-love:

Do it small! It adds an intimacy you'll remember. I wouldn't go for a big wedding also cause you'll be busting your ass instead of enjoying yourself :)

Re: Still Growing- SoCal Hybrids & Mexican & Colombian Sativas Under Sun Natural Syst

Ours was less than a dozen friends and family in attendance, under the trees of an Eastern National Forest, a light rain falling, the stream gurgling to the side. We stepped off the porch of our honeymoon cabin to say our very brief vows in the rain. Pot luck and everyone went home but us. Best wedding I ever attended. Lasted less than a minute! LOL! It came together despite overwhelming pitfalls. We were meant to be.

May your own memories still bring this much joy to the surface after more than 30 years together.

Everyone deserves this.

Thank you for stimulating that memory Conradino.

Hi Conradino,

Thanks for sharing more of your knowledge. It is amazing watching you work. Congrats on getting hitched. 24 years and counting here. No advice from me, I've made 14.3 million mistakes and counting. Just remember you're always wrong and you'll be fine lol.

Re: Still Growing- SoCal Hybrids & Mexican & Colombian Sativas Under Sun Natural Syst

Thx doc, in the end it seems all the growers here enjoy mostly happy marriages, so maybe there is a connection :)

Anyway, I just woke up and gave compost tea with lactobacillus to all the plants. Grape Ape is already greening, so Brix are going up for sure, I'm expecting both plants to show preflowers any day. They started stretching too, which gives me a field to LST more. Also seeds of Jack Herer, Aurora Ultra and Super Frosty (Aurora Ultra pheno) are cracking, so soon more plants will see the light. And last but not least I bought seeds of Jarillo and Punto Roja (sativas), and these will be probably the last to be germinated this season :tokin:

Hi Zig and Captainblast. Wow, I really got stoned yesterday with some friends I've had over for dinner, hamburgers and french fries :) It's the Trainwreck, I started reaching for the top buds and I've been impressed with potency :tokin: Have a great Sunday everybody :)

You deserved an update, really! So I'm giving it to you on this rainy day here when I just took all the wet plants inside to snap few pics :)

It would be good to say that my Grape Dog (the oldest one) will probably turn a male, and I give it 4:1 odds. Very stretchy and opposite to bushy it's a candidate like no other one, but we'll see very soon, cause they almost show sex.

Aaa the top has broken off eventually, so I just put in water to see if it clones :)

Grape Ape on the other hand looks like that, and is good candidate for a female. We'll find out pretty soon too.

And here we have small Ultra Dogs, which are almost ready to be outplanted (there are 7 others). On last photo you have them next to Grape Dog, kinda similar aren't they?

I really like how this strain turns out. Just to remind you latecomers, that it's a cross of Aurora Ultra x Chem Dog '91/NYCD, and here I'm really looking forward to at least one male, cause my friend lost all his seeds, so these are the keepers if we want to come with F2. I've been thinking about doing BX1 to AU, but if we go straight F2 we'll uncover more phenos, which might be more exciting. What it will be nobody knows, this smoke can go every which way, but I already like the structure and these particular leaves, which I very often see in local Cali strains. They have also great hybrid vigour and are very healthy. All my plants got a shot of compost tea with lactobacillus acidophilus few days ago to boos more energy, and it worked. I still have to dial in this soil, but I'm pretty close. I also tried to take Brix of GA yesterday, but the leaf was too small and already trimmed, so I got only one drop, which gave me a circle of light instead of a straight line. But in comparison to Grape Dog which had its Brix measured I'd say she started performing around 16-18, and I'll definitely check that in couple of days.

Ok, have a green one :lot-o-toke: :Namaste:

I really get a kick out of your training style. :cheesygrinsmiley: They're always so chubby and cute, like a chunky lil baby with fat arms and legs. :laughtwo:

Even the untrained ones in this group are thick and lush. Is that from the genuine sunlight?
