Staker's 2017: SSSDH, Killer Purps, Dolato, Candyland & Breeder's Test Grows

Better pic of the coco taco party. She's filling out quite quick for this strain, many weeks left lol.

And of course, a Slurry pic.

And a Chem D... getting closer to her secrets.

...and she's talking in a stronger scent.

peace and pots yo.

Seems like heat issue indeed. Have you thought about pumping some cold air?

Hope that's all. Better than than salt buildup, I'm clueless in coco. I'm hoping the reworking of the venting did just that. She was a in hot spot, and a bright spot. I let her grow up the middle between four plants in the corners, and it was the hottest spot in the tent. In perpetual, I usually have a rotation of four, where a plant comes in and goes clockwise, and things like spectrum (led placement), heat, and light, went in order as the plant aged, less light and blue, then more light and red, then most light, then less light and blue on the way out the door. The middle, I would shoot a fan up at the glass to keep the heat from reflecting downward. This is where this plant was put as plant number five, and where the taco party happened. Seems to be solved now, I have a new soil ecsd growing up in that spot now, she's in transition. :)

nice cs thare looking good man that d wow love that pic of that fat bud with all the frost, after you learn all about the d then i will grow some with your help beautiful plants man!

Thanks my friend. If you're not growing the clone, it's not as tricky. The crosses I had were all pretty easy, none were this tempermental, but I think you just get what you get when it comes to a ~20yr old clone. Always happy to help Sticks! :ganjamon:

That Chem-D mmmmmm. Looks bout like you got her fingerd out. Luscious and lovely very very nice work.
Happy daze my brother.

Looks that way. I'll mix up something for her special at some point. I recently found out one of her secrets, so it's :high-five:helped me unlock quite a bit in her. I'll play around with it and find out what the concentrations and ratios are, and replicate it as a baseline soil, and then just run my normal regimen. I've heard she's hard in hydro too, and I want to run her in that as well, and I've been gifted a recipe. Huge buds everywhere if I prune right I imagine. Thanks brother D. :yummy:

Typically don't see that level of frost on Chems......excellent man. Spectacular actually. Didn't take long for her to get acclimated to your style & environment. :goodjob:

I'm getting there. She's got some switches, and I'm pulling more of the right ones. Challenging plant, but fun too. If this is round two, I'll take it. She's getting stinky too. :slide:

I don't really run any boost. No foliar, no P products. I'm trying some of that liquid bone meal you turned me on to, but that's it other than some base nutes. I'm not sure I could grow her this well without synthetics though. I tried last run. Next run, I've gone a little hotter soil, and the one after will be hotter still. That way I'll just treat her like any other plant. ... yeah right lol. Thanks B :high-five: A nice wave of 30-40 RH sure helps too. Good time to grow her. Hell with summer, same on the sour.

Some SSH F2 Day 42, so we've gone 6 full weeks, this is week 7. She'll be faded out hopefully at finish, she's in flush now. Sugar only.

I don't know why it's sideways, but it works... both ambient air intakes are needed to exhaust this much heat/light, even when I was running a 6" at full tilt. Dropping the upper intake deep into the interior drops the cooler air lower, and the fan placement between them both, pushes some of it up right at the hot glass. It's helping to keep my sensors at a lower temp. We well see what the plants think. :)

Very nice. I love the look of your chem there. I'm not sure what you run for lights,,, but I still use HID, and these 1500 watters throw out a hella hot spot. I use what they call a light spreader? Just alittle something to diffuse the hot spot and it works great. Good looking plant you got growing on.

Thanks kindly NCW, the Chem is starting to stink like dead skunk. Love it. I can imagine it's pretty dam hot around that much bulb. I'll check that light spreader out, sounds like it's just what I need. I'm running 1K HPS and a couple COB LED pointed dead center, for another 240W... so 1240w. I got a 10" exhaust fan, but run it at 40% to keep cola tops measured with a laser at 80-82f, (around the hotspot) but some of the Chem and ECSD complain over 77f, so I'm trying to get them lower. I'll pamper them, then I'll cut em down. ;)

Beautiful work as always CS. I know I'm repeating myself. That SSH looks excellent man. Must put it on my ever expanding list. A friend is at Spannabis now, and he has picked up many strains. Most of which will come to me. Quite interested to see what he got.

BTW, I was unsubscribed to your journal. Hoping this post sorts that problem now.

Glad you made it :hugs: Repeats are good man always good to hear from you. I still forget how to get where I need, but I usually pretty high when I'm here. :) The SSH F2 I ended up with smell reals strong and funky, fuel, pine, stringent, honey and fruit.

Do you flush your coco plants once a month or so? I'm feeding by hand and eye, no runoff at all, never fully soaked, synthetic and organics, it's gotta get hot/salty lol in that pot no?

Yeah, I used to do a mini flush every few days with calmag to combat salt buildup, and provide the coco with much needed ca/mg. Coco plants need more calmag.

In a 5 gal pot, I would only feed approx. 1L of feed a day. Then hit them with double the volume of calmag which would just wet the bottom of the fabric pot. Then I would let it "dry" for 36 to 48 hours before resuming feeding again.

So something like this:

Day 1 - feed 1L
Day 2 - feed 1L
Day 3 - feed 1L
Day 4 - high dose calmag at 2L

My feeds were quite heavy handed though.

Then no more feeding for 7 to 10 days before harvest. 10 days was better though.

Just another product we don't get here in South Africa. I can't complain too much though. We get what we need to a grow to the finish line. Some variety would be nice though.

SLF-100. Enzymes, microbes. Top notch product. Plants love it. :Namaste:

I've been using it as directed, so I figured I could flush maybe once a month, so at 30,60, and pull at 85. I should go read some coco threads, but hell... I'm just too lazy as of late. :) Nice dose of D will do that.

Gorgeous garden of frosty buds Carestaker! What I would do for a legit cut of Chem D! That combo of HID, LED is working out well I see. Hope I can use a QB,HID mix and get close to that quality!
hey jr I'm rite there with ya i would like to grow one of those cuts to i just don't no if have the grow skills yet to have it come out rite, when i look at cares plants i want to grow one of those his plants have that effect on me he grows some beauties thats for sure!
