Spimps NLxBB Auto Micro CFL's 2013

Conveince. The planter mrs Spimp bought is stupid. It takes up too much room and is crazy inneficient in my box. I got 4 pots to get in there and I dont mind have a 'spectrum of doses'. :) Plus I would be wasting a week o more of light on maybe 1/12 the weight vs adding 4 new girls into the box.
 
Well, due to budget constraints Ill tell what what I got.
Soil= cheap potting soil. I try to find one with little to no nutes. Mixed with like 25% perlite.
Nutes= Fox farms grow Big and FF tiger bloom. Al i could afford.
Pots= random. My two newest are 8x8ish 2 gals for my autos, but I also have a 9in and that flower planter. I hope to be changing to square pots if budget allows because it allows more effiency vs round pots.
 
thank you, that actually helps out alot, i was under the impression that there was a specific set of materials you had to use to get reliable outcomes. the info i have found up to this point has all been hit and miss and talks in circles.. one guy had great results with "budget" mediums and another guy said that it will screw your hrvest. so im glad to have found a site where there is a general agreement and not everyone for themselves
 
My grows are transparent. I f up all the time, but If I dont admit it, the next guy may do the same thing. And thats dumb. I believe everyone should be able to grow thier own meds, and I try to make that possible my showing my fails.

i am sure i will f up quite a bit too but i will definitely be asking for help along the way if you dont mind.. im usually able to learn from mistakes, mine or others.... but on my first grow i am sure i will definitely need a good bit of help and direction to ensure that my white rhino does not become an expensive screw up.... even if i only get a small harvest
 
Hey Spimpster, you got dollar store type places around there? The ones here have been doing plastic container and tupperware type back to school/end of summer type things here. I know I've seen things that would work for bookshelf sized pots there. I went with the trash cans for the big flower tent, but they had other things as well, including square/rectangle storage containers in odd sizes.

Just a thought... I'm disabled these days, so I understand budget constraints all too well.

Are any of the new ones going to be ghetto scrog types? I'm thinking about training out an autumn spiral for winter flowering myself ;) :Namaste:

ty rune, i had never thought of dollar store for that. i appreciate the idea and will be looking into that

Last year i quit my job and took a much lower paying day time position to spend more time with the fam and kids. The time spent has been priceless. But im living so paycheck to paycheck $1600 is a pipedream. ;)

Well heres my "ideas" on the new girls.
Blue Mammoth- Light LST but probably as traditinal as possible. Im not super happy with her older sisters size, and I want to increase yield.
Trans sibeian-- Im not sure. If she stays nice and compact under the CFL's, she may be traditional a well.

Project X-- Im gonna do a multiple transplant, with as much topping as she can handle. Trying to get some experience and as many tops as posible from her.
Here comes the really crazy idea part. Ideally, Id use her as a mother and I envision a 20oz bottle 'hempy' style SOG under the cfls. :rofl: Many many days and bowls til thn, but thats my idea!

yeah a couple of cheap shop lights they run pretty cool. Even cooler than cfl(twisty bulbs) and will definitely help the overall grow if you have to loose some overhead light:) you can get a couple $' fixtures and bulbs for $25 :)

No problem... I hadn't really thought of it either until I went in for some cheap B supplement with Thiamine for the plants and noticed that they'd just put out the "summer toys" then, which included buckets and when I went back in to work on the bigger tent, they had the trash cans I'm using for Hempy pots in the big tent, but they also had a bunch of others I was thinking of for more SOG style in the closet, though I'm probably sticking to gallon jugs and 2L for in there... free :)
