GOT! Love it! Only show where I watch episodes more than once.
I'm totally with you there. I think I've watched each season but the 4th 3 times.
I am in favor of reading books as well as seeing the movie/series!
I get really drawn into the story if I have a visual reference, and it's fun to see the differences etc.
I am sorry to hear about your dad
but I'm happy he turned green!!!
My parents would never be so open minded, but that's them, they grew up with communism propaganda, and there's no turning back now
Though they did used to smoke too when they were my age
it's more like do as I say not as I do thing
I did manage to have an really opened discussion with my mom in law about the benefits of medical mj, and she was very opened to the idea of growing herself. I never mentioned I am, but she is very opened to new things and I love it. She has a huge yard, but she still needs a little "work" of convincing, I was thinking of translating some pages out of a cannabis book and giving her some reading material. She doesn't have many health issues, thankfully, but she would benefit as well. I will keep "working" her
I know how it is to take 5 pills and still for the pain to be there, best medicine mother nature has is this wonderful plant, and who says I am committing a felony for growing it should get my headaches as a present
Hahaha growing up, my parents wouldn't let me go see Harry Potter, Narnia, Lord of the Rings or whatever else until I read the series. It frustrated me at first, but then I learned to love them for it. Reading just has a way of connecting your imagination to your soul.
For me, I really like reading before I get to the TV series/movies because if I do it the other way around (like I did with A Song of Ice and Fire/GOT) it doesn't let my imagination run wild and create its own vivid world, instead it replaces that with the world someone else came up with and I sorta feel cheated.
Luckily I started ASOIAF during the third season and finished it before the fourth, because I got to come up with my own picture of the children of the forest and Victarion Greyjoy and Crow's Eye, Meereen and Braavos etc. before seeing theirs. It just feels more "magical" that way to me, if you will.
That said, I absolutely love the way that Arya, Tyrion, Dany and her dragons, Ser Jorah, Ned Stark, the Hound, and many others are played and depicted in the show. Winterfell and The Eyrie are so cool. Can't wait to see their version of Dorne/Highgarden/Oldtown and the free cities. They really do it well, just some parts disappoint me after reading it. Like the giants and mammoths and white walkers and some other things just aren't how I saw them in the book. Aw well. I can totally see what you mean about the visual reference though, seeing the Wall and Winterfell and all the coolness of the first season totally drew me in
Omg that sounds a lot like my parents haha. I grew up believing my parents never did any drugs, never got into trouble, and that if I ever touched a joint I'd turn into a homeless junkie one day lol. My parents used "reefer madness" tactics to scare me. Then in High School I smoked with some friends and my world was turned upside down, found out my parents used to be crazy partying druggies doing coke and smoking weed and dropping pills all day every day and always getting in trouble/thrown out of bars and drinking like mad and just on and on and on LOL. I personally think the whole "Gateway Drug" idea is a sham. The real gateway drug is being lied to. Do as I say not as I do Lol.-But I understand why they lied to me, they didn't want me to be crazy like them and go swinging and doing crazy hard drugs, the thing was, I tried hard drugs and they weren't for me. I stuck with good old ganja, and every now and then some shrooms/acid...
but I wouldn't want to do those often.
That's so cool that your mother in law is chill about it! LOL workin' on her are you daT?
Amen sister daTenshi! Let there be headaches for the nonbelievers!
Ok done rambling Lol.
Edit: Oh and thank you for your concern about my Dad, we're getting by! He just gets cranky and has a little bit of dementia, he had a head injury and went into a coma...had seizures that ended up wrenching his back, and thats his major struggle now. His back is finally showing a little improvement though, but head injuries are another story. I appreciate your support!
now if only we could get those bastards at Home Depot to pay up a little bit... sleazy worms, wriggling out of paying for a work related accident. -.-
