SoilGirl's Soil Multi-Strain Grow Journal 2014

Hope all is well in the garden today SG! :Namaste: :cheertwo:

Thank you Lester! :hugs::passitleft:
Today I'm getting some unwanted drizzle, oh well. My plants are doing great besides that, I just wish they could get some direct sunlight. Its an important time for that, in the 3rd-4th weeks of flowering. >.<
I'm sure your garden is looking gorgeous as ever :) I'll go check it out in a minute!

I'm sure your garden is looking gorgeous as ever :) I'll go check it out in a minute!

Cloudy and about to rain here, too. I was really hoping for some strong sun today since I soaked them yesterday.

Sorry guys I've been really busy these last couple days! I'll have an update later today when the sun comes out hopefully (it hasn't yet >.<) I found a little PM on one of my leaves on big UKH1, took off the leaf and searched every other leaf on it and my other plants. Found a tiny bit on a nearby leaf, removed it too, but otherwise I think I caught it early and its gone, but will be keeping a close eye on it nonetheless.

Also...the tracker says I should get my Mars II 1600 today! :cheertwo: Hope its right! Also had to hide my plants today because we have a cable guy coming out to set up a tv on our covered patio... as if we need it. But he'll be around my yard and I'd rather not have him find my plants, so hid them.

Edit: just fixed my 240w Lighthouse Hydro Blackstar Flowering LED Panel, the replacement came today! Also did a test on my 90 watt High Power Grow UFO from Sunshine Systems, still shining bright! As long as my Mars II comes today I will have an arsenal of LED's ready for my indoor grow journal soon! :yahoo:

Anddd...... Drum Roll please, :tommy::tommy::tommy: IT HAS ARRIVED! :slide::yahoo::slide::adore::tokin:
Below is a picture of my LED Grow Light arsenal, consisting of my newly arrived Mars II 1600w from TopLED's (637 USD, 3 year warranty, Made in China), my 240w Lighthouse Hydro Blackstar Flowering panel (304$ USD, Made in USA, 1 year warranty), and my 90 watt high power GrowUFO from Sunshine Systems (300 USD, 1 year warranty, Made in USA).

This Chinese Monster of a light could eat my other lights for breakfast, as you can see, and I turned it on and made my garage glow. I don't think I will be buying American again for LED grow lights until they can provide the quality and service I have received from TopLED's at a competitive price. That said, I still definitely want an American made car (my dream car is a green camaro SS 2011 lol)

I can't wait to get my next journal going, it will probably be in the last week or so of this month, but I already have clones going for that grow :D I have a clone of UKH1 and a clone of Euphoria going right now, and will be getting a clone of my BBK as soon as these cable guys leave. I likely will also move one of my little baby outdoor UKH2 clones indoors when the time comes! YAY!

I hope to update on my outdoor plants later today as well, the sun peeked its face out for a little, then went away, came back, then left again. Hopefully it will come back to stay soon!

Thank you MaPilot, I'm excited for my indoor grow, I think it looks nice too! :circle-of-love:

Update time! Haven't updated for four or five days so I'm gonna cover everything you all missed except for the PM I mentioned earlier. No picture left of that incinerated leaf and its little mildewed friend.. :rip: sun came out for a second in one of my pics, but otherwise has been mostly overcast today.

Lets take a look at big UKH1 first, her pistils are short, fat, and curly haha. Overall she's looking great, but I'm going to give her undergrowth a bit of a haircut later on. I also suspect that my pH? problems sort of stunted her growth/pistil development for a couple days, since Juicy Lucy seems to be flowering at a much faster pace IMO. :hmmmm: also found a couple spiders and other assorted bugs, just passersby munching on a leaf here and there IMO except the spiders, who are welcome to stay and help fend them off.

Now lets visit Juicy Lucy/big UKH2. I finally tied down that branch that got snapped at the "Hub", and I will be taking pics later today of that healing since I forgot to while I was just out there. I will also try and get some spider guardian pics hahah. Was focused on the plants/pistils this most recent photo op. She looks lovely ;) I can't wait to see her buds by the end... her slender pistils seem to be popping up every day :)

Now a peek at my UKH1 and UKH2 mid-sized clones just starting to flower, both showing first pistils and both with multiple tops, no defol or LST except some slight hand training. The sun came out for a moment for their zoomed out pics than hid again >.< aw well. UKH2 is on the right in the black pot, UKH1 left in the orange pot. UKH2's pistils are the first pistil pic, slender long pretty pistils like her mama. UKH1's pistils are the last pic, short fat and curly like her mama's :grinjoint:

20140801_145918.jpg

Now lets look in on Euphoria, who got a little LST'ed to the side of the pot, and whose FIM (I forgot to get a FIM pic, but will get one for my later update) gave 4 top nodes still coming in, just to open up the lower branches to light and keep her (I hope she is a her, crossing my fingers) a bit shorter to the ground. My neighbors are moving out and selling their house and I don't want any realtors bitching at me or my dad for seeing plants from the neighbor's yard.... so best to keep 'em short. Overall, euphoria has been a very vigorous resilient grower, I'm glad to have this strain in my repertoire. :circle-of-love:

20140801_145959.jpg

Now to Black Bubba Kush, whose FIM I now know was too early. She (once again presuming with hope ;) ) just wasn't ready for that FIM yet, even though it might still give me 2 or 3 tops it definitely stunted her growth. Euphoria is running laps around her. The early FIM did do one good thing though, it allowed the undergrowth to start to get long enough for me to take a cutting, which I will be doing shortly, I'll also add some clone pics for my later update. As you can see I also slightly LST'ed BBK to the side, to open up some light for the undergrowth as well as keep it short (although I'm not too worried about BBK getting too tall at this rate...)

20140801_150008.jpg

And finally, my 2 baby Lucy/UKH2 clones. Finally picking up a little growth, getting a bit taller, adapting to the environment overall pretty well.

Alright that is it for now! Pray to the Sun God for me to show her face ( that's right! I picture the Sun God as a female ;) :laughtwo: )
and keep it green my subscribers, all comments and questions welcome (especially advice!) :thanks:

Will update further shortly.

What a wonderful update! You put it together very well. :bravo:

That is a very nice little hedge of healthy plants you have going. I Like your training style :thumb:

Thank you Lester!! :green_heart: I try, :thanks: but still not as well put together as your own threads! Coming from you it means a lot!
I'm experimenting in training ways haha, most that I've seen here, how Euphoria and BBK are trained now are just like how I saw you do some plants this summer, tied to the side a little!

NOW ON TO MY "LATER" UPDATE: First off I'm going to go a little more in depth with how I do clones. So far, I've only cloned 5 plants in my whole growing career. Only four made it. But I think that's still a good success rate for a first timer :)
So first off I find a nice little candidate for a cutting, usually low growth which won't produce much and has at least 3 nodes. I usually don't go for reveg cuttings (or cuttings off a flowering, or newly flowering plant) but my 2 UKH2 clones had a couple pistils so I definitely know I can do it (on top of seeing many others here since joining :420: doing reveg cuttings and plants - a new concept to me!)... Here is a little one I found on my BBK plant today.

20140801_161652.jpg

I scraped it's side gently down where I made the cut to expose some area for roots to take, then I dipped it in some Dip 'N Grow rooting solution, mixed at the 20x concentration line for "succulents rooting" for 5 seconds.

20140801_161129.jpg
20140801_161717.jpg

Then I put it in a clean pH water-soaked rockwool cube, as far down as I could push the stem, and placed it in my cheap clone tray with lid, sealed to keep the moisture in, with a soft white fluorescent grow bulb directly on the lid. I don't use a heat pad, and I also have the cubes sitting in a little water the whole time, despite seeing some here advise against that.

20140801_161856.jpg
20140801_161943.jpg

As you can see above, at first the little BBK sprout (which is in the corner between the other 2 clones, UKH1 being the largest clone, and Euphoria is the one on the other side from BBK and UKH1) wilted over a bit. But after 30 minutes or so, she was perking back up (she is the one at the front and right below).

20140801_170638.jpg

Ok that's it for my clone update. Now on to my "haircuts" for some of my plants. I removed lower growth that wasn't going to produce much and wasn't getting much light so that my upper colas wouldn't lose any of that energy so they form nice big dense buds.
First pic is mid size Lucy's clone (UKH2) showing the leaf/node pile and the now bare from undergrowth stems. The next is my mid-size UKH1 clone.

20140801_162307.jpg
20140801_162525.jpg

The next three are the undergrowth branches from big UKH1... I must admit they were hard for me to chop, though I know it will save energy for my upper colas, and there are a few undergrowth branches I still couldn't bring myself to chop. But here are the ones I did.

20140801_163230.jpg
20140801_163335.jpg
20140801_163343.jpg

I noticed there was a decent amount of pistils on those undergrowth trimmings...and I thought, what the hell, I have no weed, no money, and plenty of time today, I'll just go through and pick every single pistil out and smoke it. Yeah, I don't deal with patience or breaks too well.........

20140801_170118.jpg
20140801_170432.jpg

And yes, there were a few little teeny trichs in there. It was still wet and sizzled a bit. Otherwise I didn't get much flavor, besides a generic weed-taste. I did get a little buzzed. It took me like 30 minutes to carefully pick all of those out Lol....

On to Juicy Lucy... her undergrowth isn't crazy, so I'm gonna just let her be, she's more opened up and at least some light gets through that top canopy. Its outdoor growing after all, I'm not too worried about getting a little bit of popcorn on one plant... especially if its dank popcorn.

20140801_163509.jpg
20140801_163447.jpg

and here is Juicy Lucy's injured hub, from aggressive hand/tied down LSTing. Its healing a bit, but slowly, I'm sure it'll heal up fine and won't hurt my yield in the end though.

20140801_163426.jpg

Now that we've seen Juicy Lucy, and the Sun decided to show her face, why not have a family photo?

Here is my promised FIM pics from Euphoria... 4 lovely tops, 1 cut,

Ok. That should cover everything now, hope everyone enjoys and has a wonderfully green day! :Namaste:
:laughtwo: just noticed my stupid hair got into that last pic as well. it always seems to get away from me...

Now we know that you are not blond:yahoo:Just want to show you mine pic of SSH,i braked her main steem at the beginning of growth.I braked it again 15 days ago again and she responds well, don't worry about that she will be fine.
