SoilGirl's Indoor Organic Soil Medical Grow Journal - Mars II 1600 & Other LEDs

Gratz on the harvest little miss. As far as the rinse, I didn't see exactly y u did it, but it explains pretty well not only y, but the proper way to harvest ur trichomes. I've never done the process myself, but he does seem to know what he's doing. Only thing is he says to gently agitate for 2 minutes the first time, and I think maybe 5 would work. He doesn't recommend using machines or really working the material very hard, but his process seems sound other than that. I think you could even DIY urself some bags with some muslin fabric at different thread counts. But, like I said I know nothing, so take it for what it's worth. Hope you at least got something for ur effort.

Yeah, Conradino23 posted that in his journal once before. I remember because at that time I was on the fence about trying it.
You know Conrad knows what he's talking about haha. ;) he's so attentive to detail. Guys, seriously if you haven't go read through Conradino's Outdoor Italian grow (completed, from this summer). Its Really Cool.
Congratulations on the harvest, SG
:bravo::bravo::bravo:

Lovely posts - you're a natural teacher.
:goodjob::thanks:
Aw thanks Mr. Teddy, its really, Really stinking up my room right now lol. Maybe its just been a while since a harvest but I've been walking around the house and getting some very strong whiffs that just stop me in my tracks and make me go ahhhhh... ;) haha. I wish my house always smelled this good haha.

:thanks:
Very nice nugs. Sucks about the bugs. Trichromes don't really dissolve in water . It does suck the sent and some flavor but should smoke smooth.
Thanks Dankfan :) yeah.. bugs. :\ and yeah I didn't mean to assert they dissolved haha, but I'm sure a few break off and get smeared against the bucket in the budwashing process. I'm a lot less worried about scent today hahaha. But yeah, I definitely expect some weirdness in the flavor.. too bad. But hey! I'm not out of bud! AND I have trim for hash ;) sounds like mission accomplished to me, despite whatever problems they endured.
Trichs don't dissolve in water, they break off. See: bubble hash.
thanks for speaking up haha. I appreciate you trying to help people understand what I meant lol, sometimes I'm not clear enough >.<
Congrats on the harvest girl
:goodjob:
Loving the pics :cheer:
Thanks daTs! I like those pics too.... I really didn't think these plants would make me happy and I'd just be disappointed in them... I'm glad I'm mostly wrong lol. Still wish I'd have treated them better but..they pulled through for me and I think they're very appealing to the eyes and nose ;)

Hi Khraeyvn! Hahaha thank you for your kind words and concern; but let me clear this up a little for you, I was budwashing, not trying to make hash. ;) the wash really really cleaned out my buds of their pest problems and other crap that got into them. I wouldn't budwash if you have a very clean grow with no pests, but if you have any pest problems, especially mites, late in flowering... budwashing can be used to remove and kill pests and their waste and leave you with the cleanest possible buds in spite of the pests.

:ciao:

So I have a lot of gardening to do today, a little transplanting, lots of training and defol. I think I'll do an update afterwards, we'll see, be back later! :passitleft:

Dry ice in a bubble bag is way easier and way faster and you end up with more product. Freezing the Trichromes with frozen co2 is just more thorough than ice cubes in water. I did bubble hash for years with my trim. Got good results with the amount and great hash so I kept doing it that way. I told my buddy about how long it takes to make it and he said to use the bags with dry ice and I was amazed with how much more I got and how easy it was to do it that way.. never going back

I bought a bubble bag just for making dry ice hash haha :) I saw CO Finest make his, and was just like... I don't want to mess around with flammable liquid gases or get a tiny payoff from making icewater hash >.< sounds like the thing for me.

But one more time lol, I was NOT trying to make hash hahaha. I was Bud Washing!! You know, like you wash your vegetables before eating them. It works on buds too! (although I understand if the notion is at first scary hahah)

Thank you for chiming in though Dankfan ;) I appreciate you trying to steer me in the right direction with your experience. If I hadn't known about dry ice hash, I'd be very grateful!

But now, I'm going to do the first of a few split-up updates today.

PRE-training, topping, defoling, and transplanting update!

This is how all the remaining plants are looking before I get to the real work in there.

Blue Blood #2

Going to move into a ~2-3 gallon pot of veg soil today :) although I may have over watered in preparation for that >.< ... it'll be fine.

PC070008.JPG

DinaFem Diesel!

So healthy. Too healthy lol, the foliage is too thick, I need to defol and open up some light to the lower nodes...even if I'm loath to do it. She'll be better off for it. I already got started, then stopped realizing I should share some of the beautiful leaves.

PC070002.JPG

OG Kush (Private Reserve)

Not happy with me for chopping off her top as a clone >.< - and I'm also getting the vibe she needed a new home, that two liter she was in isn't really my thing, I won't be using many more 2 liter pots. I got up early this morning and transplanted her, no pics of that, but here's the result.

PC070001.JPG

Fresh new veg soil that's been cooking, which had beautiful white mold spots, and a healthy inch or so of mulch up top. She's going to be a mother for me, so I gave her the biggest veg pot in there, 4 gallon.

We'll be watching her turn around soon, I guarantee ;) and I'll be doing a little training on her in a few mins with what I can work with, though they aren't developed, I see potential in these yellow-green skinny shoots.

PC070006_1.JPG

Corleone Kush #1

Wow, really taking off, with beautifully healthy leaves. Probably gotta take some nodes and leaves off though, you can only train so many. I've been lax on tightening the restraints for a couple days and this powerful plant has been fighting them off, that's what I get lol. Going to add some wires today for sure.

PC070003.JPG

Red Cherry Berry!

Just loving this thick-stemmed, well-grounded beauty. I find myself doubting there's ANY sativa in this particular pheno lol. I can barely get the nodes to stretch a couple inches, and they're FAT. Here's a couple pics, before I do a little more defoling and training. Gotta re-arrange and add a couple wires.

PC070004.JPG
PC070005.JPG

Black Bubba Kush!

... speaking of being too lax on training. Wow. I didn't think this girl had it in her, but she keeps teaching me lessons about that. This clone went through hell and most growers would have tossed it long ago. Well, this is why I didn't haha.

PC070004_1.JPG

Definitely going to need more wires. :laughtwo:

PC070006.JPG

Corleone Kush #2
Argh, I think this one will be my first ever male lol. I'm just getting a weird vibe from it. But we'll see haha... problem child since day one. We'll see what I can do for him (>.<) today.

PC070002_1.JPG

And just in case people were wondering what the clones and temps/RH have looked like.

PC070005_1.JPG

PC070007_1.JPG

...and.

Redemption
PC070003_1.JPG

:rip:

hahaha I got one of those awful things in my hair setting them up.... oh that was a nightmare. Now that that's over... it was all worth it seeing that little trapped deviant -.-

:laughtwo:

I'll be back later with more, ciao for now! :ciao:

Heck of an update SoulGirl...

Part Two - Post-training

Ghost OG! (Crap I forgot about this one in the last update)

...I forgot to put up this pic. But this is GOG before the training.

PC070007.JPG

This is after two supercrops on lower nodes that were becoming dominant (I snapped one top and stressed the other out on purpose to even out their growth) and a little defol and hand training. It should really take off now ;) ... with supercrops you just pinch the stem, (sometimes really hard) and bend it over being really careful not to snap.

PC070006_2.JPG
PC070007_2.JPG

Corleone Kush #1!

Heavy defol, new wires and adjusted the old ones... and I only kept about half of the new nodes that were there, because I see an easy training plan for them. I had a huge handful of sweetly stinky leaves ;) - don't worry, I know she looks like a skeleton, she'll bounce back though.

PC070004_2.JPG
PC070005_2.JPG

Black Bubba Kush!

This one's going to look odd lol. But its no beauty contest, I know this training will be effective. Lots of defol and training adjustments.

PC070008_1.JPG
PC0700091.JPG

Blue Blood #2

So I did something different for this one, its only on it's 4th node set, and I topped it and did some defol to open up lower growth..... maybe I stressed the hell out of it between that and the transplant... but I have faith it'll be alright despite how young and small it is.... And turn out to be very bushy ;)

PC070002_2.JPG
PC070003_2.JPG

Ok that's all for now I'll be back soon with the rest. :Namaste: :peace:

Working hard girl, and from the looks of it, having a great time. You're such a Saggitarian control freak! lol

Hahahah oh yes I am. LOL. Thank you Sue! It is fun to grow things... and the accompanying god complex from control over life and death is just a bonus to me :laughtwo:

:ciao:
Nice get them growing next stage of ultimate engaged.

My friend all call me psycho when I tie girls up like that...:high-five:
Hahaha thanks for coming by guys. :passitleft: I'm really hoping these plants will be my best yet after all the training and great organic soil. :hippy:

Part Three!

I'm tired, so gonna make it quick. I knocked over little BB#2 in her new pot the second I thought I was done in there for the night >.< spilled that fresh soil ALL over my veg room. I did a quick sweep up, although it was a pain in the azz, and threw on a new mulch layer... the old mulch layer pretty much got mixed into the top 5 inches of soil >.< .... well I guess its our chance to see if my soil Really is alive, and able to break down all that organic matter for my plants. I'm not too worried... just feel really bad and stupid for adding to all of today's stress for that little one, I mean, I hope it will be a centerfold for my grow in the future, how stupid of me. -.-

well here she is.

PC070007_3.JPG

This is Diesel after training. 8 nodes I'm keeping and training, 2 I'll take as cuttings down at the bottom.

PC070006_3.JPG
PC070005_3.JPG

OG Kush PR, also 8 nodes I'm keeping and training. I supercropped the stem that led to the top (the topped top) and tied down everything else.

PC070004_3.JPG

Red Cherry Berry, a little defoled and with a few new limbs tied down. But.... the main stem is beginning to snap, I have to really keep an eye on that, this plant is too thick and brittle to mess around with side-LST'ing too long..

PC070002_3.JPG

And Corleone Kush #2... .... looks like crap. I kind of want to toss the whole plant. the only thing stopping me is, I'm really curious to find out the sex of this plant. I just supercropped it and took off a whole ungainly node that was too stretchy.

PC070001_1.JPG

Ok goodnight everyone haha. I'm excited, just about to try my first sample of Euphoria from the recent chop. All the buds are still really wet, but Lester turned me on to quick drying them in the Eq Arizer... it works like a charm once they've been hanging for 48 hours, before then it's still do-able but not as enjoyable in the slightest, and you can see water droplets form in the whip or bag of vapor... bleh. haha. BBK vaped brilliantly earlier... oh can't wait. need. to. stop. typing. but. can't. lol. Bye! :laughtwo:

Black Bubba Kush is about to be Fluxed!

Keep on doing what you are doing. Your journal has always been good to me with my morning coffee and smoke..

Black Bubba Kush is about to be Fluxed!
Hahaha maybe not a pretty flux like LA does, but an unconventional one, sure! Had to get in on all the hype lol.

I'm also really interested in how RCB does, that plant is like some hybrid of side-training and fluxing.... definitely taking it's sweet time like a flux would! :ciao: thanks for coming by Reg.
Keep on doing what you are doing. Your journal has always been good to me with my morning coffee and smoke..
Hahaha, will do Sir Finest of CO. :) glad you enjoy it on your down time! Happy greens! :thanks:

so... things to do: I need to get like 30 gallons of flower soil and 20 of veg soil cooking. and move some worms into a new bin..... and, that said, it would be probably very beneficial to know more about worm bin designs than absolute zero.... :laughtwo:

also I ought to get some living mulch seeds, and other organic additives that can go on top of soil. I want to start doing LOS sooner than I was planning; if only for 1-2 plants in 10 gal fabric pots. we'll see how all that goes.

and a side note. that Euphoria I chopped 3 days ago is potent. like, don't try to stand up while vaping or smoking it lol, you're just asking for gravity to teach you a lesson.

The BBK has a decent flavor and hybrid high, but Euphoria is the cream of the crop, tasting like orangey diesel, very dense, and with a headrush and body stone that just floors you.. I'm already feeling the pangs of regret for not keeping one in reveg.... and am reverting to some inner anger at my dad for ruining my plans for this wonderful strain during that whole incident... makes me really sad that I won't be growing more any time soon. Ugh. :(

Whatever. I have one seed. And I'm much better at germinating than I was a year ago. And I have other great strains.. - I just haven't watched them bloom yet. >.<

Check your PMs SoulGirl...

Good one SoilGirl. lol

Beautiful work going on in your grow. I can't wait to see them in about two weeks.

Lol to clarify on that, I mean if you take really big hits and hold them in a long time (like me), don't try to stand up fast!

I forgot to add that. I must sound like a lightweight. but hey, I was very stoned, that Euphoria is really some badass stuff. I just vaped more of it because my dad woke me up with some nonsensical shouting and I couldn't fall back asleep. I'm not going to have any problem in a second lol, I let this batch flower longer than last time I think. (giving it more amber trichs and a stony high)

well... good morning and goodnight 420 friends.

Veg Update!

Hi guys! Took a couple Diesel clones today, did some more training and defol on all the other girls, and I just felt like sharing. I also took a few of these pics to get an opinion from Light Addict about training (fluxing), come join the convo if you want, its an awesome journal run by an awesome guy. Light Addict's Fluxing Central - Featuring The Original Flux Journal

Hope you enjoy :)

Here are the new Diesel clones.

PC100008_1.JPG

And... WE HAVE FIRST ROOTS! First clone to root: you guessed it. that beautiful topped Ghost OG!

PC1000081.JPG
PC1000011.JPG

Here are the pics I took for LA but want to share here while I'm at it

Black Bubba Kush

So I guess its official lol, going to try to flux this one. I don't plan on it being a monster flux, I just want a good yield out of this particular pheno one last time before I phase it out. It was good while it lasted, but I'm ready to move onto bigger, better strains. And I have more BBK seeds as well, hopefully with a more outstanding pheno.

Here's how it was looking when I went in there...

PC1000071.JPG
PC1000051.JPG

This is something I wanted LA's opinion on particularly, on one end of the 2 main nodes, this is what's happening...

PC1000062.JPG

I've been letting all 4 nodes grow. I want to know If I should pinch off the outer or inner ones, because the way its going, that's going to be an odd supercrop on a flux, which I don't think is what you're going for.

Now, this is it after tightening it down a bit, rearranging things a little and defoling a few leaves.

PC100001_1.JPG
PC100004_1.JPG
PC100005_1.JPG

Corleone Kush #1

I also wanted to see what LA thought about this plant, which I've been training similar to a flux... I want to get it in flowering relatively soon so Idk what to do exactly. Should I let it grow upwards now, (that canopy is totally flat and even from the side) or should I keep training it?

PC1000092.JPG

Red Cherry Berry

I won't be defoling this one again for at least a couple weeks, I want to see what happens. But I did today.

PC100006_1.JPG

It looks pretty gnarly up top, I'll give you that... but look what's down below. I think she'll be fine. :)

PC100007_1.JPG

DinaFem Diesel

this is how she's looking after losing her bottom-most nodes. The training is going well. Tightened up today.

PC100009_1.JPG

Ghost OG

After the supercrops and stressing those top nodes into growing evenly, looking nice! :yummy:

PC1000031.JPG

OG Kush PR

I told you guys we'd see her turn around really fast after the transplant! Look at the dark green coming back to those leaves ;)
