6 days since flipping to 12/12. Some pistils starting to form at bud sites. I think I might stick to photos from here on out. I can’t seem to get my autos to grow as big. I know they don’t veg as long but the last 2 I’ve grown have been short and small.

This one's about to Godzilla the town!

I know they market autos as a great 'intro to growing' plant, but you have to be an experienced grower to grow them well as there is no room for extending veg to fix an issue. Couple that with any issue causing a stunted plant and imo you're much better off growing a photo period unless you have specific issues you deal with like lighting.

Good evening all you SIP heads........

I plan on making a couple of diy sip containers probably 3 or 5 gallon for the clones. I have read quite a bit thru this thread and watched a few Youtubers and now feel as though I have a plan to build a couple of these gizmos.

I hope I'm making sense I just tried a small nug off the lsd plant thats nearing the finish line and I'm a little baked :ganjamon:

Here's my question.......I use @GeoFlora Nutrients, so how do I top water in the Geoflora Nutrients? Anybody have a simple solution? Id love to hear any feedback from anyone using top dress nutes.

I only top water a little bit until I can see its feeding from the reservoir then I no longer top feed but I don't use your nutrients i use MegaCrop.
Here's my SIP design

I used two 20ltr buckets per SIP a 90mm to 100mm reducing bush, I cut the 100mm part of bush leaving a large shoulder to support the floor of the pot above the reservoir. The bush fits onto a bit of 90mm stormwater pipe that I either drill or slot with 5 inch grinder with skinny cutting discs, the floor of the pot is made from the bottom of the second bucket I cut the bucket in half 14cm up flip the bottom upside down cut hole in the centre for bush to poke through and drill heap of holes in the base.
The top part of the bucket i fit into the top of the SIP for extra dirt holding capacity.
SIP will hold about 6-7 litres roughly.
Good luck with your construction

Absorber...That is a well thought out well engineered design. Wow

Thanks for sharing!

What are your thoughts of using a cloth pot inside the top bucket for the medium. Saw someone do that on Youtube. Looked interseting

Do you guys worry about light leaks
I do- they won't always stop your plant from flowering, but they can slow the process way down.
Best to block those vents during dark time if you can..

They probably did that to contain all of the medium personally I think you'd have to chop a hole in the bottom middle to get the foot to wick properly.
In the floor of my sip covering the holes I put cloth weed matting then filled the up to the edge of the reducing bush with pearlite ,I have the medium inside the 90mm pipe and on top of the pearlite to top of SIP .
And just by chance when I purchased these buckets from a seconds place I noticed there was a slight variation in the black buckets, one bucket was slightly larger so I cut the larger bucket as it fit tighter in the other bucket.
I only noticed the variation because they would stack one way around but not the other the I noticed the larger ones had a flat bottom and the slightly smaller ones had a raised section in the middle tha fit nicely into the 90mm pipe so I stopped fitting a cap on the bottom of the 90mm pipe

Best practice with Geoflora nutes is to feed every two weeks as a top dressing as they suggest and to water in that feeding from the top. Between feedings simply pour your water down the fill tube.

Thanks Azimuth!

I think I was overthinking the simplicity of using a top dressing type fertilizer with the sip setup.

Good morning all....

I apologize for my questions. When I posted my questions I had read thru this thread to page 10. Now I'm at page 20 and my questions have all been discussed.

This is a great thread.... Thanks everyone for all the great ideas! Now back to page 21 and a puff or two. Have a great day peeps.

Enjoy your puff or two & the rest of the thread @Ramblinrose1965 peace & take care dude

Do you guys worry about light leak? I have 2 tents in the same room and one is on 18/6. I have vents open on both tents but on opposite sides. Do I need to cover the vent from any light getting in it
I keep it tight. No light leaks.

Emilya Green grew her SIP's with Geoflora top watered I believe. Check out one of her journals.
