Hey Bud, is that Alfalpha you're using for mulch there? I forget what it looks like. I use an alfalfa extract I feed to my worms and it's all powder. Also, I don't see the mycelium you're talking about. IS it the fuzz against the side of the container?
Oh, I wanted to recommend an inexpensive addition you might consider, soldier fly frass. It is essentially an insect manure, high in Nitrogen, good microbes, but also carries strong pest control element in that the plants respond as if the flies are present and a potential threat and thus up their pest deterrence game at DNA level.
Do you still use white rice wash for your LABs? I do, actually have a fresh batch I jarred-up a couple weeks ago, I add it to my weekly microbial root drench and use around the house, plus with my esophageal cancer I've started adding it to my milk shakes. It's a 'facultive' microbe meaning it can live in different environments.
Thing is, I've found people using multiple grains (youtube) and then everything else the same, extracting microbes, adding milk, etc. But they are claiming a better variety of microbes which makes no sense to me because the whole experiment is an isolation of lactus baccilus, thus the milk. Your thoughts, if you have any?
@Azimuth ?
I'm really enjoying the amazing health of my probiotic SIPs plants. With an airpump in the reservoir going off every few minutes I breathe a little easier knowing nothing too dangerous can grow down there with lots of o2 present. This is my first full-size experiment using my super-castings for cannabis (I did small cannabis SIPs and 35-gallon tomato SIPs with the castings-only and they were all the best plants I've ever grown of each type)
I love your soil recipe, it's ingenious mate, it really is. I'm for sure going to try it just as soon as my latest project, surviving this f*%îng cancer, is behind me. I think you're really onto something there.
