This is some lovely advice kiddies, I just gave you congrats reps shotta on the consultation/construction work you're doing...and I'll do it again on the merits of this posted advice alone. PLANT BIOLOGY1...........I want to mention that I notice that you have your plants at a lovely.....IDK exactly how to say it....but they look like they should at their stage of development. This is a tricky F'n thing to do.......I'm always trying to get em just where they need to be....it's not so easy!

Thanks mc. I find that too much lst or bending really limits upward growth and i see this as being a prolem in most peoples grows.
I see some grows and Have to wonder who is giving the advice to some of these people. I am not a guru by any means but I feel bad for people being swayed by a member that has 10,000 posts and only one year of grow under his belt.


I defoliate from the first week up until three weeks before chop and then I leave them be until they come down. If my plant is not performing with that method it gets cut. I found what I like and will keep working to better the results. I am really trying to knock down 2# per 1kw then I will retire journaling I think.

Well said Shotta and feel better my friend, your so right with people using LST and not giving their girls chance to build vertically. You need it for your big Colas. Your defol through the plants life is exactly as I do it, all the way up to last few weeks. As for getting your plant how you want em its simple to me, do everything you want in veg and simply wait till your happy then flower. its no good trying to force these plants to your timetable, you have to watch and listen to your plants. Then fit your plans around them. Symbiosis!

What did you need to know. I took subcools base and added a few extras and reduced all of his measurements down so I could feed with teas and what not.

I need to look for my mix and post it. I have finished the straight super soil and now I am working on the recycled soil batch. That one needs work but its working fine up until now.

I will get those measurements up tonight sometime.

I was going to use subcools soil with a few extras he didn't have like alfalfa meal and something else I'm not remembering ATM, did you use the roots organic or did you make your own soil base? I want to do teas as well so I guess I should ask what how you reduced your measurements?

Insect frass, crushed oyster shell, feather meal were some of the extras but not all of them. The crushed oyster shell is nice since it is a long lasting ph buffer and keeps things steady. The insect frass is another great amendment that I will always use.

Teas are one of my favorites and when you dial it in the results are instant like your plant will tell you minutes later that she is happy.

Lol I better brush up on my math skills, I'm only going to run about 1/3 of what sub does as I don't have the space. I will look into those 2 amendments and add them to my list. So since you went with crushed oyster shell did you skip the lime?

I thought you mentioned it before, but I couldn't find it. What camera are you using? I know you said it's a Nikon P&S, but which model?

Grats on getting your perpetual going. I'm still a ways off from getting there myself.

Subcool's mix works extremely well with Subcool's strains...but I found it too high in N for most other strains. I also had perpetual bug issues with it...

Lowering the bloodmeal would help for sure!

I always lower everything down about 20 percent in my mix. And I have yet to see any issues with it.

I decided to go with Super Soil because of the ease of just watering and not using any nutes. I used 8 bags of ROOTS and 1 bag of worm castings I believe was 25 lbs. All but 1 or 2 amendments were full box amounts which was nice and easy so rather than reducing the amendments Id add more soil so what would you suggest 2 or 3 bags ?? or more??

Im just today 2 weeks into 12/12 in my first run using it so I wont be changing anything right now but I have 2 35 gallon totes full that I could add more ROOTS to if needed.
