Drcannabi's - White Russian - Recycled Organic Soil - LED - Teas & Foliar

Hey DrC. I'm trying to reuse soil from my last grow and have it in a 27 gal bin. It has been sitting there for a few weeks without any attention. I've been waiting for my outdoor compost bin to finish so I can amend it but this colder spring we've been having has slowed that down. Do you think I need to add moisture or anything to the old soil while its sitting there waiting. Does the bin holding the old soil need holes in it or anything? Just wondering how you go about reusing soil.

Hey there Doc - checking in buddy... hope your world is green and sunny!

Hey there AllSmiles - I do same as you, re-use my soil :thumb:. The old soil if I don't just up-pot another plant that's in VEG into that same pot (no-til), I sometimes dump into a container like you do. I definitely add a little water and keep a lid on it. No need to add holes there's lots of air already in there. Just pop the lid from time to time and check it and add more water if it looks dry.. by a little water I'm talking a few cups/quart of water.... NOT a few gallons.

Now's a good time to amend the old soil with your amendments you want to add in for the next run, mix up and let it sit. That's how I do it. Then when I've got clones/seedlings I'm ready to up-pot with that soil in the bin ready to go... I also add in some bokashi into the bin to get the mycos energized for the roots of the next round of plants. They like it dark and a little moist no need for holes this way for sure.

compost tea after the girls get some legs and yer off and running.

Sorry Doc if I stepped outta line, feel free to tell me to go back to my corner! :Namaste: I like to over help! hahaha

Thanks bobrown for clearing that up! I won't drill any holes and will just pop the lid from time to tome to check on it. My compost won't be ready for a few weeks. Do you think I should add the other amendments now or wait until the compost is ready and add them all together? I have a few months before my next run so time is not an issue.

Hi all, got sent out of town for my new job. Back now and will get to these updates ASAP. All plants are chopped from this journal except the three untrained seedlings. They will all get the chop tonight. Not much there but what is there looks amazing!

I have smoke reports for all but the SnC (which I already did). Pics too lol!

Three of the 11 Venom OGs are confirmed male and have been culled. 6 are confirmed female and 2 are still yet to show definite sex.

Hey there Doc - just stopping by to see whats going on! Hope all is well in your world and your keepin it green! :Namaste: Sending you positive vibes.

I'll be in communication with the Ganga Gods tonight and put in some kind words for you and yours :rasta:

Thank you brother Bo! I needed those vibes!

High brother doc. Eh what's up. Hope all is well in your world brother.

Hi Dusty! Doing great brother. I'll post a pic of my 3 little cheesecake seedlings tonight. They're nice and healthy.

I was just thinking. Maybe I should add the unfinished compost now with all the amendments and it will be ready in a few months?

Hi Allsmiles, pretty much like Bo said is what I do too. Basically my method is 20 gallons of used soil, 1 gallon EWC or Compost, 1 gallon perlite, mycorrhizae, and all my powdered and dry inputs. I mix all those dry ingredients and then add water till the soil is at field capacity, about 1.5 - 2 gallons (I use an AACT) for the 22 gallons of soil. You can use bokashi or a good bagged mycorrhizae (endo/ecto) to bump the mycos and get them working. I add some to the dry mix and then add some on top after the water has been added. This allows me to see when the mycos are thriving. A good AACT is essential IMHO to bring the soil to life. After 30 days it should look like this on the top of your soil and you should be ready to plant.

Bo! you're never overstepping your bounds on my journal. You're my resident Organic expert! :Namaste:

Smoke report for The White S1!

Total dry weight was 94 grams.

The smell of the dried buds is super fruity and skunky. You know it's going to be potent as soon as you open the C-Vault. The smell is one of those that lingers for hours. A dime bud in your pocket in a baggy stinks the whole room up. 8

Visually, the looks of the buds are coated in a blanket of white crystals and I can easily see how it gets its name. It is a little dark with some buds looking purple-ish. Bag appeal is off the charts and the buds are dense but not rock hard. Almost perfect IMHO. 9.5

The smoke is very smooth on the inhale and I can't make myself cough even if I try. I only use a vaporizer so keep that in mind. 9

I taste a very skunky indica type of taste on the inhale that reminds me of a really good Afghani! On the exhale I taste skunk, hash and some fruit but not like a certain type of fruit, more like a fruit salad lol! It's great but I love chem/fuel tastes so this isn't my fave. 8

The effect is AWESOME! Long lasting body and mind high that smokes much more like a hybrid than a 90% indica. I can actually do things after smoking this and I'm fully baked for a good 2-3 hours. I'm not great at conversation, but tasks are easily accomplished. It kind of messes with my auditory function and I had to ask what my wife said 8 times before I understood, "Did you get the mail?" lol. When it's wearing off, the munchies are there but no where near the munchie factor of the SnW. 9

Overall an 8.7 which is really awesome!

Thank you brightlight! I appreciate the kind words but this wasn't my best work. Really hit a snag when switching methods 1/2 way through lol! I'm still learning the ropes with this plant. Getting better though, the Venom seedlings are looking spectacular and I'll update that soon and get my new Budmaster journal going.

In the meantime, here are 3 DK - Cheesecake seedlings. The Dinachem and CC Sour Diesel are taking for ever in veg. I'm going to give them all the time they need and hopefully I'll get a great crop!

That residue is just some dried dextrose from my foliar I gave them this AM.

Thank you brother D!

Should I top right now then? I'll do it when the lights turn on. I always wait till node 4 but I'm down to try early topping.

Here are the ladies coming down tonight. These pics were taken on 5/29.

These trainwreck phenos have nothing in common. One is tall sparse and purple, the other is short fat and green. This has to be a mixup at the tude!

Good to see you back. Harvest looks great. Had us worried for a bit.

Cheers

White Russian Smoke Report.

I'm going to make this quick and easy. This strain was the most commercial of the lot. Smells and tastes watered down. I could barely smell it during growth and it has only improved a little during the cure. it smells like weed. No distinctive smells. It tastes ok now after a slight cure but I'm hoping it improves more. A little bit like pine laced with sugar, but it's faint and nothing special. The high is a killer. It basically drops you on your head and it's instant couch lock for me. If it tasted and smelled good I'd smoke it every night, but I have to get up the courage lol! Great for insomnia. The looks are great but as soon as I smell it, it turns me off. I'm Spoiled lol!

This thing took forever to trim too. I wont be growing it again because it's just nothing special. It is very potent though.

Man oh man its anther set of stellar plants.:)
I topped above the second set of three fingered leaves.
I always do mine at random times. This one was done mid way through its day. Doesn't seem to make a difference as long as they are healthy.

lol! Me too (random times), I guess I'll top these early. Don't need no stretchers around here :) Topping and Kelping FTW!

Good to see you back. Harvest looks great. Had us worried for a bit.

Cheers
