Shadowman's First Grow

Welcome one and all. The flower tent had a nice growth spurt last night, Medi1 is really getting bushy and I think if it were in the tent by itself I could fill the tent by the time she's done stretching. LF1 is starting to bush-out as well. I'm very happy with the growth I've been getting with the modest light set-up. I watered the seedlings and clone when the lights came on this morning. They all look good but the Medi2 and Medi3 are showing Magnesium deficiency early, so I've been feeding them Cal/Mag+ and it's helping but I think I'll have to keep them on a regular feed to keep it under control. It seems to be strain related because the Little Frankenstein's aren't needing Cal/Mag. They seem to have a thirst for Nitrogen. If that's all I have to deal with, then I'm happy. I'm going to keep working on getting the rest of the shelving moved out of the soon to be new grow room. I want to be able to get the Panda film put up as soon as it is delivered. I also have an inline fan coming and some more 3 gallon pots. That's about it this morning so let me get back to work and you all have a great day!

Hey Chinnubie, How's the harvest going? Medi is gaining size everyday and I'm looking forward to seeing some flowers. I measured her this morning before I put her to bed and she comes in at 14" from top of soil and that's after 2 1/2 month veg. Thanks for stopping in on your big day. Good Luck with the chop!

Good morning and Welcome. The flower tent is active, they are gaining growth and both vertically and horizontally. Medi is doing her thing as usual and LF is starting to really take off. She has some awesome growth and hopefully the flowers will begin to show very soon. I think Medi has started producing flowers but I'll let the pics speak for me because this being my 1st grow, I have never seen this stage before. I love the daily changes. I watered and fed both Medi and LF in the flower tent. They took 72 oz ea. with minimal run-off. I ph'd the run-off and they both came in with a 6.2 reading. Soil ph was at 6.2 for Medi1 and 6.7 for LF. The seedlings are doing good but Medi2 has a Magnesium deficiency that is tough to control. I've been watering with Cal/Mag+, I'm going to get Medi2, Medi3 & the clone transplanted into 1 gallon pots today. I'm hoping with the bigger container and fresh soil will help in my efforts to get Medi2's Magnesium deficiency under control. The clone has had a growth spurt and is looking good and strong. Hey granny, Thank you for the kind words of support. I'm really enjoying this phase of the grow. Once the stretch is over I'm going to tie down some branches to even out the canopy. Stay tuned.

Congratulations, it's officially a GIRL!! She's really stretching. She would have been perfect for a scrog grow the canopy is pretty even but it's not mine and your in charge. Oh by the way got my beans in the soil yesterday, hopefully little PK girls to be coming soon. I posted pics of the new and improved closet and I wanted to thank you for the idea of Mylar. Makes the closet so much more reflective than tin foil. Put one of them in a Home Depot bucket and on the front it says "Let's Do This!" I love that, we had a bit of a laugh with that.

Yea a Scrog would have done Medi wonders.. But shit she's doing great as is.

Ok..since Medi is one bushy lady. I recommend that u create as much floor space as possible. I'm not sure if there's any equipment or anything that u keep on the floor of ur grow tent that you need daily access to. If so find a new spot for it as you won't be able to get down there soon.

Also. I love how LF is growing like a mini shrub, if u want her to open up and start to head north, u may want I consider a light defoliation. I say light because I'm not a fan of removing any section that may produce a bud (even if it's just popcorn). I would take LF out of the tent and slowly start to remove large fan leaves from each main branch. Once that is done, I would LST them to give even more room for light penetration. You will definitely see the difference in growth. It will look scary the first day or two but she should recover from the stress nicely.

Question, how much Mylar did you use to cover the Grand Wardrobe? I need to stop playing and get it done.

Nothing in the tent that I need to remove, as far as LF defoliation, I will be doing that but I've read that you should wait until the stretch is over so you don't slow or stunt their growth. I'll be snipping leaves and any unwanted branches at or around day 25 and again at or around day 45. I've already got her tied to open her up to light and air and I see the results in growth. Medi is the one that will need additional tying because of the numerous branches. That's when things will get tight on space. Medi will take up twice as much room as she does at the moment when I spread her out more and let the light get all up in her goodies. (I apologize to anyone that last comment might have offended). P.S. I bought the 4' x 50' roll of Mylar and did 2 wardrobes with it and have plenty left for future use.

Hey Chinnubie, Sup? I didn't really have the room in the tent with both plants to do a scrog on Medi so I'll do one on my next flowering run. I should have plenty of space to take full advantage of a scrog. I'll be over to your place to check out the pics and see what's happening. See you soon.

That's great. Yea cause I believe Medi won't double in size... I think she will triple when those colas start to fill out. Get your plant stakes ready incase those colas decide to bend.. Creat a pocket to attach I the wall of ur tent for your hygrometer or attach it to you light future so it can hang canopy level. I have lost my hygrometer in the plants on a number of occasions. They are gonna bush up very soon.

Thanks regarding the Mylar, I was hoping the 4x50 would work well. Next I need to work out a exhaust for the wardrobe. 4" ducting looks too big. But I really want to get some fresh air in ASAP.
