Shadowman's First Grow

Welcome everyone, I guess I needed some sleep because last night I fell asleep downloading photos. I didn't wake up until this morning. So you didn't get the veg box photos that I promised. I do however have new photos taken today. While I was out running errands today I stopped by the hardware store and picked up some duct work and vent hose. I connected to the air vent came off the register boot I think it was a 10" x 31/2" with a 90 degree elbow to a wye. I then clamped vent hose to each branch of the wye and ran 1 to the veg box and 1 to the flower tent. Now I'm pumping A/C into the grow. This should help considerably with the flower tent temps. They've been up around 82 lately so if I can drop that to 75 I would be good with that. Humidity is around 40 - 50%. I pinched off the yellow leaf from the clone. It looks much better now. I'm going to feed Medi1 1 cup Cal/Mag+ later and LF1 gets 1 cup 24-8-16 for Nitrogen. I should have the whole room cleared out by tomorrow. Then I can start getting supplies to frame and tent 4- 5' x 5' grow rooms. I'm going to do the Professors DIY method to save money. Some pvc, black platic sheeting and mylar. I'll put mylar 4' high on the walls in the veg and flower areas. On to the photos.

I still need to cut the hole for the vent hose in the veg box. I'll do that first thing in the morning.
I hope everyone is enjoying their weekend. We'll talk later.

I take a few days off and his journal is moving!!!! Ur ladies are looking great. Good going treating their deficiencies...

I haven't gone to the riverfront for the 4th forever. The last time was about 26 years ago. lol That sounds pretty bad doesn't it? You go down there every year?
Sounds about how long is been for me to. Plants are starting to make that stretch I see, they are looking great. Just like you to copycat, just kidding. You can use that black & white plastic to avoid using two different materials, just a thought. Your lucky I don't get many of those. Ha Ha. Also, thanks a ton for putting my link in your thread. I'll work on getting yours in mine.

Hey Tamir, What's up my friend? Thank you, I've come to the realization that they both need preventive feedings. I give them 1 cup of their favorite nutes about every three days and that helps keep their munchies under control. Medi1 has a Magnesium deficiency that won't go away. It clears up for a week or so and then it shows up again. So now I just do small feedings on a regular schedule and it seems to keep it in check. Same for LF1 with nitrogen deficiency. I need to come by your place and look in on your girls. Thanks for stopping in.

Hey Chinnubie, They are officially in the stretch. Very noticeable growth on a daily basis. Medi is acting more like a sativa than the Indica it is known for. LF has grown also but because it is more of a short, stocky Indica plant you don't get the growth spurts that Medi1 gets. Are you talking about the Panda film? or Is there another product that has the same characteristics. Black on one side and white on the other? Are you still doing the chop tomorrow? Talk to you soon homie.

Had to :rollit: after a long 16 hour shift at work. Yeah that black & white plastic is kind of expensive so take into account how you'll do it. That white side is what I saw Cervates use in a DIY build and he said that the white side is better than tin foil so I'm guessing it's as good as mylar. I do like the mylar though it's tough and really shiny. My two cents.

Are you talking to me about "the Panda movie" and if so what do you mean? :peace:

I've been trying the same technique. 1 liter every 2-3 days. Too early to say if it helping, but I know watering once a week wasn't keeping up with the nutrients they wanted.

No, LMAO, Not a movie about Panda's. Panda film is a product on the market that comes in different thicknesses and sizes. It's white on one side and black on the other. I found it in a 10' x 100', 5.5 mil. for $73USD. It's on order so I should get it in about 7 - 10 days. It won't be long and I'll be rockin 4 - 5' x 5' grow rooms! That's what I'm talking about! I also picked up a green LED headlamp for dark cycle work.

Just for any that dont know, the how to grow MJ sticky in the grow room section here, is an amazing source of info. It has a thread all about the different reflective materials :) hopefully my link works, I only have a phone to post from lol.

What Reflective Materials Can I Use For My Grow Room?

Hey LA, thanks for posting the link on reflective materials. I've read that and it is very helpful, it gives lots of different types of materials that can be used and how effective each is. Good Looking Out Brotha.

That is a good thread for reflective wall material and after seeing your cardboard grow box with the Mylar I knew what I was going to use for my next grow. I didn't know they called the black/white poly "Panda" poly, showing my noobieness. Is that a word?

Chinnubie Chinchilla has nubieness

I used panda poly for my room including the ceiling. It's strong enough for hanging with stapler on wall surfaces.
For stapling to ceiling, I added white duct tape patches for reinforcement, then stapled through the duct tape

I would like to see some photographs of the grow rooms you are constructing.

Hey KJC, Thanks for the interest, I'm still clearing out the storage room that is getting converted to grow room. Once I am ready to install the Panda film, I'll be taking lots of photos, before, during and after.
