Sense Amelia's First Pop At Indoor Soil Grow

I had all these issues on my first grow but I also tried to tame an outdoor 10-15' monster in about 5'6" of space. Learned a lot from the members here. My GDP is coming along nicely and I am using a 20" floor fan to move air into the closet. She is a stout plant with thick branches. Feel free to check out the grow, I am almost at 30 days since the seed popped it head. I will veg about 4 more weeks hopefully and then flip to 12/12.

My grow box is 6 feet tall. And, I am also running a 600w. But, with such a small space (3'x4'x6' tall) which is only 72 cubic feet, they get bathed in so much light I just leave my light up at the top of the box. I don't really get any stretch to speak of because they are getting plenty of light. I also don't have any heat issues to speak of.

TG and Mutt - you both have GDP growing I see, and it looks beautiful, in both your cases. :circle-of-love:

I see you have a SCROG set up Mutt... NICE! To be fair, because I'm a total virgin grower I am staying away from pruning, topping, manicuring, LST or SCROG, just scared to death of doing it wrong, and I know I could mess about and do it on just the one plant.. but yea, it gives me the colly wobbles regardless.

I cannot WAIT to flip the switch on my (please God, they are feminised) girls on Monday or Tuesday

Yeah I know what you mean. I keep thinking .... should I flip them .... should I flip them????

The really funny thing is .... I've never actaully tried GDP ... LOL. So, I have no idea what it's like. The guy at the dispensery said it's good stuff so I got a clone .... LOL.

The LST and Scrog isn't hard at all. The plant pretty much lets you know what it is ready to do .... or not ready to do. And, the stems let you do quite a bit of man handling with no real damage or stress.

:) Ha ha yes. Same. Mine could go now I think but I'm gonna wait til what I had planned.

Yes, SCROG or LST will come into my second or third grows but not this one. :)

hello Amelia, your little ladies are looking just beautifull!
so I have tried to read most of your journal and I like what you have goin on.
I rekon you may want to think of a Lst because once you swtch to flower they are going to stretch like crazy:)
the next three weeks they may triple in height. but if your uncomfertable with it thats cool too.
anyway I will take a seat over here and just quietly watch your lovely grow:goodjob:

Hello fishcake! Thanks for dropping by and checking out my journal. :thumb:

Now I just KNEW sooner or later someone was going to say I really ought to think about LST. :)
I have a friend luckily enough who could perhaps help me with this as I rather feel I would be like a monkey with a hand grenade if it was all left to me.

Mj is a pretty forgiving plant as far as brutality goes and you can take it slow.:)
you dont have to bend her or them all at once. if you water your girls about an hour before you start to do any Lsting she will become more flexible then you can gradualy bend them a little every few days with out much worry. just find the natural bend area say if you were to grab the top and pull a little bit, you can see where she is most flexible then go from there:)
if you have ever seen anyone here do a supercrop you would have a heart attack at the way it happens yet the plant never misses a step.
but you do what your happy with and feel good about.

The best way I have read so far about lst'ing. Scotch tape, middle finger of a leaf. you can't break a stem as the leaf will tear before the stem breaks. Better to lose a tip of a middle finger than a stem

*squeals* But I'm scared!!! :) argghh so wanna try tho! Just spoke to my friend and he knows about SCROG not LST so I've been checking out some youtube vids and scaring myself.

LOL a scrog is just a Lst on steroids:) a Lst is much less stressfull on you. but I do love my scrog:)

why yes you can for about the first 2 weeks without to much stress to your girls after that just let them grow unless they get to tall.
but the earlier you start the better:)

OK well I just don't think I can go through with it this time, the LST that is. So now a new question, I was going to wait until Tuesday to put these into flower - 12/12 however I think I am going to do it now. So.... do I let them have the 48 hours of darkness before I put them into twelve/twelve as I have a friend who is suggesting I do. Someone said in my thread here that this is only for mature plants. Mine aren't mature yet surely? :thanks:

A mature plant is when you have the nodes staggered as oposed to a nonmature plant that grows semetrical(leaves growing opposite of each other) In my opinion there is no reason to stress your girls by depriveing them of light. I would just change to 12/12 and be done with it.:) weather they are mature or not. you say you have Fem seeds so there is no reason to try and sex them and that would be the only reason to try the dark period. altough I wouldnt do it either way.
but thats me:)

Thanks FC!! I'll just go ahead and get them switched to flower straight away with no messing.

Now...I got brave...here's my mini LST :) Only two of my plants were "do-able"

perfect now you just wait and see what that does you will be more then happy:bravo:

It's your grow. Whatever you decide is best for you and your ladies ...... will be fine. Just keep doing what you're doing.

I just saw your LSTing ..... :bravo: .... isn't it fun to manipulate them. I knew once you tried LST you'd be "WOW this is so easy" ..... LOL. :bravo:

EDITED TO ADD:

I was looking around in the FAQ area and came across this post. It talks about the dark period before flowering. It has some really good info in it.

Brings back memories when I tried to do my first LST and actually ended up supercropping. It worked out well as the girl could take the stress. I am doing LST onmy current grow and definitely am doing it the right way this time. :)

Great job on your LST!
