Sense Amelia's First Pop At Indoor Soil Grow

:thanks: everyone for all the support, guidance and kind words.

I'll post up some more pics in a couple of days for you all to see how they're progressing.

I cannot wait to see my ganja girls in flower :circle-of-love:

Sorry folks, but I have another question, don't forget, my babies have had NO nutes at all yet, even though I did have Bio Grow. I think I will let them have a week in flower and then start to VERY slowly, introduce Bio Bloom into their drink.

However, something else to point out is that when I have been watering them, it's been very little, 1/2 litre each tops even less at first of course, but, I have been giving them water every day, just not as much as what some give their plants. My question is should I now start thinking about the "wet/dry" cycle a bit and maybe giving them alot more than I have in one water, til it comes out the pot a bit and then leaving them a couple days? It might be better this way if Bio Bloom is involved right?

Thanks guys/gals, I value your opinions.

You do not need run off unless you are using nutes usually. The general purpose of the run off is to help keep salt levels down from synthetic nutes. I like to see a little run off each water to ensure I am getting all the way to the bottom of the pot with a good watering for the roots. I started my nutes when my plant was a seedling and make sure to mini flush every watering. I do dry cycles whether for feed or water as a major problem is over watering.

Yeah, I would also water more thouroughly. If you water all the dirt in the pot, as the roots use up the water that is closest, it will reach out with it's roots to get to the water that is farther away. The more dirt, the more water, the farther the roots will reach. But, you have to keep in mind. If you water more thoroughly, you will have to water less often than you do now.

I do dry cycle, I water/feed .... then wait three days till the dirt is dry and the pot is light. Then I do it again. I always make sure I get 10% run off to ensure I get the whole pot watered.

Thanks TG, so how does this sound then, because I want to start finally using nutes - that BioBloom.

  • Start watering them more so it runs out pot a little.
  • Give nutes every other water.

Yes Mutt I think it's time I stopped being so tight on what I let them drink! LOL

Sounds like a perfect plan. But only water when the pot is light. You do not want to water every day. Right now I am watering every 3-4 days. Eventually it will become every other day as the plant starts consuming more. If you need more clarification let me know. :)

Another thing is water a small amount let it absorb for a few minutes then hit it again and do this one more time until you get run off.

yeah what Mutt and TG said:)

Hey SA, I have come to realize that your 600hps is kickin the sh*t outta my 250mh. :lot-o-toke: HAHA great job though I can't believe they haven't had any nutes yet!! You should use a combination of bloom and grow nutrients during the first week maybe 2 of the transition to flowering. Thats if you plan on using them which I strongly recommend, since your heading into flowering. Use each one at 1/8 of recommended strength because you only want the total of both combined to add up to 1/4 of the recommended strength for the first feed. Hope thats not too confusing :smokin2:

Hello folks! Many kind thanks for any comments made and advices given. I am taking it all on board.

OK so there's been a fair bit going on lately, I have LST'd my remaining 2 plants so everyone has been mini bondaged now :) I shall continue to tie them down as the days go by.

Unfortunately I suffer with OCD so a couple things you folks probably think are nothing for me to worry about are stressing me a little. It's the pale tips which appear to be on new growth only of three of my plants. Don't forget, they had no nutes when this appeared, and the temps were fine, and the light is far enough away. It has only happened on this last week of the month or so veg so it cannot be anything that was in the soil either. Only damn thing I can think of is that the cause of the pale tips is that they are asking for nutes. Funnily enough, my smallest plant is the only one who hasn't got these pale tips on her. Or... maybe I was NOT giving enough water. Remember, most they've ever had is 1/2 litre each. They're in 5 litre pots.

Today.... they have been given a litre each with 1 ml of BioBloom in each litre. We're on 2nd day of 12/12 now. I did not get to read BubblyHash's post about the fact I could use the BioGrow I have too so I might do that tomorrow, but these babies have probably grown enough in the small time I've had them around anyway. LOL (Thanks Bubbly for the nice comments!)

Also, on one of the plants, the first set of "true leaves" are dying, but this don't matter right as it's right down at the bottom of course. ??

Here's a selection of pics from today -

Those pale tips, see? And the way they are "clawing" at the very ends.... me no likey! Occuring on all new growth of three of four plants.

Otherwise.... on the whole... doing ok!

Ok, first your girls are wonderfull! your doin great:thumb:
you should be giving nutes now. and to make it compliant with your OCD start mixing 1/4 strength per gallon of water and only feed them once every other water. that little yellow leaf tip is bound to happen. nothing to wig about.
after the feeding see if she changes color or acts funny.(sure it wont)
then take two doobies and call me in the morning. I just burned a .......

Yeah the yellowing tips is probably just telling you she is in need of a little N which is what is in the grow nutes. When I mix nutes I have to do it in 3 parts to 1 gal of water. Grow Micro and Bloom and these get fed at different values through out the life of the plant. I will have to start my Early Bloomer and Liquid Blue (parts of my nute line up for boom boosting) in addition to the main 3 when I go 12/12.

Your girls look fine right now and as Fishy said there is nothing to worry about.

I figured you would like that and it is already converted to liters. :) Have fun on the PS3.
