It keeps the terpenes from floating away while still allowing for a brief exchange of air to promote the off-gassing of chlorophyll, all while you are getting the moisture level down to the cure zone of ~62%.
 
Do you think the Grove bags and their ilk work the same for curing?
 
Took down last two branches off the stowaway today. One a pretty good size, the other about half of it or less. Overall happy with the turnout. She smells like perfume, some lily or something. Very different than anything else I've grown... wish I knew what she is?

And I took a look at the girls in the garden and they'll be ready to chop soon too. Found some bud rot in the PGC, but just a little at the top of one bud.

And the BBCBD X is looking good. A little rot on one bud in the 5 gallon but the big one looks free and clear. She's gonna give a lot of weed. 😊😍

A little rot is almost expected at this point outside, so it's nice to hear it's not more than that!

Especially given the amount of rain the last week. Insanity really. Good to know rot isn't rare. I'm so lucky I wasn't closer to the hurricane. I drove near a few places this weekend and saw on TV how awful it is.

My socks are still damp from being out in that crappy rain a few days ago.

I prolly should change them.
 
I put the new little girls into their forever pots yesterday, thinking they were 3 gallon pots, but actually are 5! Maybe that'll trigger them to grow a little more!

Looks possible, more so in the second pic. Is there grey mold inside or anything mushy?
 
It's all just that brown. Like old... dried. Before I handled it, it smelled weird. Not moldy, but like stale. After rubbing, it's quite aromatic.
 
Some of my PM leaves look like that after a while. I just trim it away as bed as I can.

I took a look at it deeper with the loupe and the brown areas are amber trichombs with some having crystallized or dried up. Maybe all the wind and rain then lots of sun?

Either way, I think there's some chopping coming. PGC has been maturing faster than the BBCBD so I'll check other live buds that aren't brown yet.
 
I'd say that's likely rot. And I'd say even if it may not be, why chance messing with it!? :Rasta:
 
The first set of stowaway buds have been jarred for a little while now and I just packed up 5 qt jars of the remainder. I'll take a final weight measurement this weekend after a little cure.

This batch of BBCBD1 X which is either an F1 cross of BBCBDxBBCBD or BBCBDXCS - I guess once it dries I'll have to compare, but I don't think I have any of my original BBCBD left...or CS for that matter either. It really doesn't matter to me, but I know it's got CBD in it, so I'm cool with that.

These are going into the other drying mesh bag today after a few days hanging in 69-73 degrees F RH 55-63%, with the buds cut from the branches.

And I took down a branch of the last BBCBD today and checked trichs. Almost all cloudy and some amber. It's a little shiny from getting washed. The rest will come down today after I move the other batch to the hanging basket drying rack. The rest are much larger...

I would make cobs but I'm out of vacuum bags...they're on the way for the latest batch however.
