Rifleman's Roost Open 24/7: Perpetually Perplexed

MBAP 1 & 2, Advanced Nutrients, micro, grow, bloom 15ml ea , Hydroguard 9ml
MBAP 3 & 4, Remo, micro, grow, velokelp, magnifical 18ml ea, Hydroguard 9ml

I like that you're running two different nutrient sets with the same strain, in the same environment.

I gotta go change oil in the tractor.

Diesel? I guess it beats an automatic transmission fluid shampoo, but I'm guessing it's blacker than a welldigger's arsehole, lol.

I'm leaning toward the Remo as my go to nutrients, but I still have about 1/3 gal of the AN. Once the AN is gone I'm going to pick up some Mills and run it beside the Remo. It's a neverending hunt for what works best. ;)

Yes diesel, black as a whore's heart. I'm an environmentally conscious sort of guy, so I recycled it back to where it came from. Now I won't have to burn all that gas weedeating the fence line.

I could go off on a RANT about that one, but I once threw a weedeater... however far it was possible for me to sling one, p!ssed-off, after spinning around two or three times to build up momentum. I hate doing fences, especially chain-link ones.

Besides, I once got some fluoride, fluorine, whatever it's called from a nearby water mistreatment plant to do the same thing. Talk about "a little dab will do ya," lmao. I had enough left over in my old pump-up sprayer to write a little... message on someone's front lawn. Sure wish I'd have thought that one through first. His wife wasn't best pleased with me over it. IDK... seemed less drastic than shooting the guy.

School picture day. Everyone has the beginnings of a third node.(2&4 furthest along) Stacking nicely now that the lights are at 20"/50cm. I started them out at 30" due to not knowing the cob characteristics. Which BTW I can not complain about. 80+ degree days and I'm not fighting heat at all... AND pulling around eight amps less. :thedoubletake:

Mephisto ManBearAlienPig 1 - 4

I start mine out about 24" from the light. The COBs are much more forgiving than the quantum boards. :laughtwo:

Good to see little ones around the property again Luke. :high-five:

Day 12. #2, the first up and first with roots in the reservoir, has 4th node leaves. Everyone else is pushing out the 4th node too, just about 12 hrs behind the leader. By this time next week I expect to begin spraying one of them with the CS. :)

What a difference four days make. More to the point, what a difference the cob lights make. Finally a real solution to my heat problems. I'm betting once Winter hits I'll be able to keep reservoir temps around 70deg F without any trouble. It looks like the girls like the new lights too. So far, so good. Here's a shot of the garden this afternoon. I hope yours is as green. ;)

Heya Rifle!! Good to see you under some new lights there buddy!! Nice to see you back in action. First frost of the season here. Had some buddies scrambling to "go hunting" in the woods. Hahaha. All is well and good though. :thumb::volcano-smiley:

Scottay ! :passitleft: First frost ? That sucks man. We'll have 80s this weekend but that'll start dropping like the leaves soon enough. I've been in the woods "hunting" a bit myself this year, mostly 'sang, but I did see a little ganga too. I stripped and dropped the 'sang seeds, took what I needed, and left the ugly dirtweed. ;)

Day 21

News, news, news. I've been a busy old man today. I put the 4x4 together and nearly completely outfitted. I hope to drop beans, Mephisto Stilton Special, Saturday morning. Running about a week behind schedule on this. :shhh:

Better news is what's already growing. As it says above, today is day 21. I rearranged the large tent and put the girls in a row. Easier for me to move around and access each one. It remains to be seen if it's a viable growing set up as I think they are too close.

All four are showing sex as of today so I picked number 2 for the CS spray since she showed sex first. First spray was today. Currently they are in order left to right, but soon #2 will take her place to the far right closest to the fan. Working smart not hard. :)

Heights are as follows;
1) 7.5"
2) 10."
3) 9"
4) 7.75"

L to R 1 thru 4

Everything happens in its right time. You're right on cosmic schedule. :cheesygrinsmiley:

Water Change and nutrient bump yesterday, day 22. Still using 4 gallons water, AN is now 21ml ea, and the Remo to 24ml ea. Stats below. ;)

MBAP1 - pH out 6.8 ppm out 442. Height 8" pH in 6.7 ppm in 644

MBAP2 - pH out 6.7 ppm out 383. Height 11" pH in 6.6 ppm in 642 (day 2 of CS spray)

MBAP3 - pH out 7.0 ppm out 536 Height 10.75" pH in 6.4 ppm in 910

MBAP4 - pH out 6.9 ppm out 560. Height 8.25" pH in 6.4 ppm in 864

On a side note for SweetSue & Tead I finally got the 7gal wastebasket hempy set up. It has about a 2 gal reservoir and 3 DDA cracked and buried. Time will tell. :high-five:

Hey Rifleman, I'm growing in a 4x4 in coco right now Mephisto Genetics as well. Just finished a HubbaBubbaSmelloScope (Geez it sucks typing that) a Northern Cheese Haze and two Tyrone Specials. I also have a Toof Decay around day 45. I have one of the autocobs you have and I converted my Mars II 400w to run three of the citizens cob's. It's done fairly well, but I know I don't have enough light yet.

I'm very excited you started your journal back up here. I'll be watching intently as I like your growing style and I can't wait to see what one autocob per plant will do.

In regards to the CS, what is that? Colloidal Silver?
Do you mean to tell me I can make seeds from autos? Ughhhh shit I need to get on that?!! Still a noob I guess haha

Hey Archiweedies, I'm anxious to see what a single COB per plant does too. So far it's all good, but I see a point where coverage might be a problem. Although I've been told the COBs penetrate better... time will tell. The HPS is put away but not gone. :biglaugh:

Yes CS is colloidal silver. I made over 6K feminised autos seeds last year. Not looking for that many this time but hope by Spring to have a couple more strains in my bank. I'm a hoarder.

How was the Cheese? Stout smell? I've got a half dozen Mephisto strains to choose from and expect to drop beans today. I planned on the Stilton Specials, but decision making isn't my strong suit. I could just as easy end up dropping four from my Sweet Seeds Mystery Mix. :hmmmm:

Keep in mind, my experience is limited, but the Cheese was one of my favorite strains. Well, from a growing perspective it was easy and absolutely zero smell compared to anything I've grown to date. When I finally chopped her, she stepped up in the smell department. She reminded me a lot of Northern Lights as far as her aroma. I've yet to taste because it's still in the bags drying and I have like zero taste or smell right now cause of this cold.

I can't say the same for the MBAP. Three and a half weeks and they are stinky. Don't even have real budsites yet, and they reek. Eye, yi, yi. :thedoubletake: Bet my filter struggles with these.

Oops, I did it again. :) Four Mephisto Stilton Special in Rapid Rooters and buried. 3500K COB lights, Advanced Nutrients m,g,b 15ml ea into 4 gallons H2O. Wednesday or Thursday should be Day 1.

Oh yeah... I'll be reversing one of these too. I'm a seed whore. :thedoubletake:

Feels good to be back in the saddle, doesn't it Lucas? I get nervous after too much time with the fans silent. :laughtwo:

You may need to water around the seedlings until they get their roots to the reservoir. The perlite won't wick efficiently above 8". Get those roots down into that nutrient-rich zone ASAP.

Sue and tead got to you too, huh? I swapped out my dwc buckets this time around for hempys. I couldnt have the pumps going since the maintenance crew has been in and out of the apartment. Super stealth is required for the moment. They seem to be a bit slower than dwc but still quite a bit faster than soil.
Good luck on your seed creation.
