Rifleman's Roost Open 24/7: Perpetually Perplexed

C'mon Kush :) Its all good. They were both stunning plants and he hasnt got them to sweat yet :) That pic you posted with the resin drop is still probably the best pic Ive ever seen!! :) :passitleft:

It's very good, and I'm not discounting it but I think we've both been beaten by a girl on this one. Or at least I have :allgood:

TBH I wish the real ones looked like that instead of the lanky ones I've had.

It has to be dead on Winter before the 1000w doesn't cause problems. If daytime temps are out of the 30s F and the sun gets the attic warm I can't keep reservoir temps out of the mid to upper 70s.

That is an amazing photo. :) I'll not be posting anything near that pretty with my andriod phone or tablet. ;)

Time it right and I wouldn't be surprised if you got over a gpw with 2 Candy Kush and still had room for another plant or 2 under the same light.

Cheers for the pic compliments too.:ganjamon:

Rifle, those DDA #s... Stunning. Surprised by the outcome of your experiment, tho. Whats this mean for your line-up?

Well yes, we have been beaten by a girl. However her's was the green pheno. I've not seen a larger harvest of the purple pheno yet.

It means I have more testing to do next season to see if I replicate the results with another run of DDA, and again with a different strain. <sigh> So much knowledge to gain and never enough time. It'll take me the rest of my lifetime only growing half of the year, and I'll still be left with questions. ;)

:rofl: I expect I might have a new neighbor if she realizes that's going to be well over a pound of dda from four plants in 98 days.

I'm ready to pack. :laughtwo: You know of a spacious room I can rent? Have iPad will travel, and I wouldn't hesitate to settle down next to that mountain of DDA. :cheesygrinsmiley: :green_heart:

Agreed. That picture is the standard we're all, not so secretly, chasing. I still get a racing heartbeat when I look at or even think about that picture.

I'm still dreaming of the day when I have the capacity to run enough plants - and do a good enough job of it - to only do one or two grows a year. I'm running perpetual, which is its own type of addiction. I'm not certain I could live without the sounds and smells of a grow running in the background. When the fans turn off my whole system fires up in alarm. :laughtwo:

I'd grow year round if it weren't for certain obligations Sue. My garden gives me a reason to get up every morning. I do have a warm weather hobby that keeps me busy, but it doesn't nourish the soul or impart peace like growing does. :)

Thank you Sue. This shot?

Might rake out the high res and do a square edit for the instagram comp. Don't think there is anybody using my Sweet Seeds shots on there yet:yummy:

Hope I didn't sound like a bad sport in need of his ego massaging though.....I just prefer beans that are less of a wildcard and JK2 is bang on according to latest figures so all is well in my wee world. That's pretty much what I wanted to see there.....or me getting my arse handed to me by 1000W and/or buffered nutes as that I might be able to do something about:geek:

Sue, i know what youre talking about. My other wants me to take a break after this harvest for an undisclosed amount of time. I am kinda freaking out, like what am i gonna do with myself? How can i sleep without fans and pumps humming me to sleep? I am trying to persuade her to concede to me going back to my smaller tent and just keep one plant going at a time. I have my fingers crossed...

Day 32. The DC have not slowed down and are reminding me of the autoultimates in stature. :) Photos tomorrow.

DD1 and 2 were trimmed from the branches and put into cVaults today. I'll check the hygrometers tomorrow. Once I get them stable around 62% I'll hit you up with final weights. It's been very dry here so I think I'm pretty close to curing weight already, maybe even slightly dryer. I'll tease you with a hint about total yeild.~~~~> :goof: nuff said. :)

Hmmmmm, so four tilde is greater than a goof. That's one hell of a hint there.

Water Change at The Roost. Last time the Devil's Crack girls come out of the tent unless they stop growing soon. :)

Last week I used an all Remo mix on DC2, who up until then had been in lock step with DC1. The next day she started out growing her sister. :hmmmm: Coincidence ? I don't know, but I can say for sure that Remo is a cleaner nutrient. At this level of AN I have a heavy crust to scrub from the inside of the bucket every week. No so with the Remo bucket. It was an easy rinse, swish, wipe, and back into use. That alone is enough to make me switch when I run out of AN.

The Remo nutrients aren't marketed as "pH Perfect" like Advanced, but are chelated enough they seem to hold their own against AN.(I haven't been adjusting pH in any of the buckets.) I premix my nutrients each week before I start the clean and swap so I didn't know how the Remo was going to work, but after seeing what I have in one week, I'll be swapping JK1, my runt plant, to Remo next week. ;)

Questions, comments, thoughts, complaints ? I'll do my best to answer them all. :)

HI Rifleman, great info and grows in your roost....sub'd to join in on the commune... I finally got my first grow in RDWC going and hope to learn a lot...

More than a goof, and slightly more than I ever expected. :)

Welcome to The Roost Adam. :ciao: If I can answer any questions feel free to fire away. We are almost half way through my last grow this season, but there is always room for discussion and learning. And never fear, plans are already being made to start back growing earlier this year. Most likely again in mid Sept.... depending on if I go gator hunting for a few days. :biglaugh:

Moisture content has stabilized and I am proud to tell y'all...

I grew some big dark girls. :adore:

DD1 was sealed in the cVault for 20hrs without Boveda packs. She measured 55% and 142g
DD2 was a little closer to correct at 60%. The largest purple dda I've seen to date. Jarring weight was 186g

DD1 142g, 98 days
DD2 186g, 98 days
DD3 126g, 84 days
DD4 101g, 84 days

A total of 555g/19.8oz dry in 98 days of growing under 1200w led. Next year the DDA grow will be done under the hps to see what differences we can find. :)

Wow!! Good for you my friend!!
So you think remo is a better product? Or at least cleaner than AN? I'm noticing a lot of salt building up after a week. And I'm only at 450-550ppm

Are you not doing any training on these girls? Or are you waiting for a certain time? They look healthy that's for sure and am I correct that these are clones cut off mama on 3-12?
Sent from my iPhone using 420 Magazine

No training and no clones. Everything I grow comes from seed and I'm too lazy to do any lst, topping, fim, etc. I let my girls grow natural until bloom, and then I just thin the leaves a bit for better light penetration. Lazy Grower Style. :)

It will take another side by side grow...or two...before I can claim Remo grows a nicer plant. But it is definitely much cleaner than AN. The last time I was in the local grow store the owner was showing me fabric bags they grow in. The AN bag was crusted with salts after only one grow, the other bags were no where near as nasty.

This is the first time I've run AN at more than 50% recommended... and the last. Heavy gloves, scalding water, and elbow grease is how I'm cleaning my buckets now, but a paint scraper isn't out of the question if it gets any worse.
