Rifleman's Roost Open 24/7: Perpetually Perplexed

Water Change on Day 91 for the DD girls. Notice I have somehow managed to burn the heck out of DD1 ? It's no wonder, ppm out were very different for the two of them. DD1 was 1240 and DD2 was only 464. Another week, maybe two before I chop them. :)

The DC/JK grow data continues:

DC1.....12.5".....6.7 @ 74°.....926
DC2.....12.5".....6.6 @ 75°.....813
JK1.....8.25".....6.6 @ 75°.....943
JK2.....8.5".....6.7 @ 74°.....833

Peace Out Y'all, it's getting into the mid 60s today and as soon as I grocery shop it'll be motorcycle time. :cheertwo: Looking forward to DST returning. :):):)

Dammit Luke, I need to learn to harvest in those numbers without resorting to full-out hydro.

Excellent numbers being posted. We should be neighbors, you know? I'd be trotting down the lane with breakfast brownies....oh wait....you have your own, and I believe you make them more powerful than I :laughtwo: yeah..... We should be neighbors. :hugs:

Just for the record.... no.... your neighbors will soon enough be different... but RM's just no good without Roscoe and you've got another dog lover to dance with come June/July.

I've got a little HB Blue Dream girl that someone left behind on a recent visit. I'm just damn impressed with the HB soil grow. She's an incredible looking young lady. Perhaps you'll see the same results soon enough using the HB soil.

I missed the pretty pictures yesterday. Geez Luke, made my mouth water. :high-five: If mine look like yours I'll jump for joy. I'll be handling them differently than I did the last time I ran DDA with the kit, but damn Luke, you keep raising the bar and I haven't caught up yet. :laughtwo:

You keep me focused on that Tead. :laughtwo: I'm steadily eliminating extraneous belongings, getting down to grow equipment and clothes with a few personal effects tossed in for the hell if it. Lol!. I'll have to give you a pot of HB soil to play with. :hugs:

No... move here, move here !:rofl: Don't make me fight you for her Tead, I'm too old to take a whooping. :thedoubletake: :biglaugh:

I think I'm still chasing the bar set by LEDRF as far as a purple dda goes. I think... yeah right, like I can remember, but he had a record harvest. :)

Looking very nice.
Confusing me with the 6.5 6.6 ph readings.

My First DWC Grow - Unknown Strain

Seems awful high to me too, Rifle. 5.8 ideal. Or not...? :hmmm: Enlighten, please.

Peace, Hyena

Hey Germ, Hyena, and any cannabis growers lurking in the fridge. :ciao: I don't know what to say. The numbers are correct. I've suspected that AN pH Perfect didn't actually work like they claim, and I can see I was correct. Don't misunderstand, it does work for me, just not like they claim it does.(study chelation) Until recently I haven't checked or adjusted pH in nearly two years and have had great harvests using nothing but AN products. But we can see pH is never near what I know is the sweet spot of 5.8 (I'm at 50% dosage for adult plants but 100% for plants with 4 to 6 leaves, which they did have when the reservoirs were changed.)

I'm checking and recording, but not adjusting pH in the buckets. The water I added today was adjusted to 6.4 by 3ml pH down to 1 gallon tap water because that's an easy measurement for me with my hypo and it got it close to what the buckets were already. <shrug> So, my $0.02 ? AN is idiot proof. That's it, just mix it and forget it, idiot proof. If you try to adjust it with pH down you'll lose your mind with the wild swings, and the plants won't like it either.

Over the next couple of water changes I'm going to try and take DC1 to the recommended 4ml/L and see where the pH lands and how she grows. JK1/2 will probably not get more than the 2ml/L they are on now unless they scream for it. But DC2... I have plans for her.;)

I have recently come into possession of the entire Remo line and plan to use it on DC2. That's right folks, a side by side comparison. :cheertwo: I don't reckon it's a fair comparison since I've used AN and their additives so far, but it'll give me the experience with Remo and an idea if I want to abandon AN... for a while anyways. :biglaugh:

Stay tuned. Daily pH and ppm updates will continue, there is a dark devil harvest around the corner, and of course a lot of talk about everything except growing the dank devils lettuce. :Namaste:

EDIT: Thank You Susan ! :thankyou:

You're smarter than me, dude...that's too much math for this stoner.

Didn't used to be, even recently.

I admit to getting very far away from the careful measuring and recording of previous grows. I have even stopped measuring nutes, I just kind of know how much of each kind they need when they need it and don't ask me how. I just splash it in. But, like you, I look at my plants and they tell me they like their diet so it's okay.

(That's a hell of a thing to say in front of new growers. Forget daddy said that kids. And don't tell mom.)

Thanks for the info.

Peace, Hyena

Sorry about that. It's two pennies. If you have that much, and so do 28 of your friends, all of you together can buy one White Castle burger.:rofl:

I write it all down in a notebook but I don't know why. I rarely look back more than a day or two, and that is just so I'm sure of something before I post it. Like you it is just kind of an intuitive thing now. I believe being a lazy grower and just letting them do their thing has its advantages. A hairy eyeball every couple of days notices more change than the ever watching eye.

"The Devil's lettuce"  That one gets me every time.

You're welcome. My pleasure. :battingeyelashes:

As Hansbricks over at that other place reminded me today, Advanced Nutrients perfect pH works in a two fold method. First by adjusting the pH of RO water to the approximately 5.6-5.9. I myself don't have RO, but do have distilled and rainwater and find it works the same with either. Second it works by allowing the uptake of nutrients at a greater pH range which I believe has to do with chelation.

I like what you are doing and your ladies look beautiful, as always. You definitely have DWC dialed in. When I ran DWC I was always chasing the pH with my meter, so it would be nice if their hype actually works.

In April I will be running the SSDD and I am going to try BioTabs in my Autopot systems. Hopefully with those I will have a set it and forget it organic system. Inoculate your medium, stick the BioTabs in, hand water every five days the first three weeks, then turn on the reservoir with just plain water and watch them grow.

Lack of RO water is most likely the the thing that keeps me from achieving a perfect pH. I can't use rain water due to coal fired power plants and the acid rain they give us here. Thank goodness for chelation. :)

Your experience with dwc is the reason I first tried AN. Using four gallons of mix in a five gallon buckets with plants drinking 4 to 6 quarts a day makes pH a nightmare. Particularly when the tap water is 160ppm and 8 to 8.2pH. :lot-o-toke:

Be sure to tag me on the BioTabs grow. I'd like to see how they work out. :)

The Auto Jedi Kush (JK1/2) has been released by Short Stuff Seeds. Add a dot com to that and see for yourself. :) OR I could just quote what SS says about it on their site and save you the trouble. ;)

"Auto Jedi kush is a fantastic new strain we have been working on for some time and is the result of a cross between Skywalker and our favourite Auto OG kush. The genetic makeup of Skywalker contains Blueberry and Mazar which means there is some serious fruitiness in there and a definite indica dominance. Combine this with the world class OG kush and you have a strain with excellent medical pedigree which will enhance your Jedi powers in the fight against the Darkside.

Jedi Kush is a medium/large auto strain which generally reaches 50-80cm in height and produces a classic OG shaped squat and solid plant. The main cola can get huge but this plant branches out very nicely with minimal foliage so there are tons of other excellent bud-sites come harvest-time.

The odour in the grow room is minimal with light coffee, pine and skunky notes but when you brush up against her she unleashes a fantastic OG stank. Expect very resinous buds, due to the high levels of trichomes, which make this an excellent strain for making extracts, hashish and rosin from.

The effect of Auto Jedi Kush is very indica in nature with a wonderful relaxed feeling kicking in after your first toke. The all over body buzz is great for killing pain and helps with anxiety and lack of appetite.

Thanks to the dense buds from this strain yields are excellent; even from shorter phenos with 30-90 grams (1-3) ounces being easily achieved in normal grow conditions. If grown in Hydro set ups we have seen yields in excess of 150g from 1 plant so this can be a very rewarding strain both in quality and quantity.
Check it out – Auto jedi kush growoff

Auto Jedi Kush is part of our Boutique Line of cutting edge Autoflowering cannabis genetics. The Boutique Line contains the most up to date autoflowering genetics which are pushing the boundaries of what can be done with autos. All the strains in the Boutique Line are big, tall, heavy -yielders and have been produced’ in-house’ by Shortstuff’s master breeders."

There's a link in that description to a grow battle that 420 will probably clip. Go to Short Stuff's site to follow it and see what happens. :)

Welcome DnD. :ciao: I'm glad you found your way in. I have a feeling you'll like the vibe in here some better.

Are you growing anything currently ? Getting ready for a harvest here and have some fresh new strains about three weeks in. Wander around all you like, I'll be here on the porch watching Winter return and smoking a joint.

Oh yeah, here take this. :passitleft:

Thank you my good man! Yes I have my very first grow going. I'm about 30 days in from seed. Started with Haze berry from royal queen in rdwc. I may have bitten off more than I can chew but I like a challenge. No clue how to start a normal yet so it's a thread in the dwc forum "Another noob grow!" You might be able to find through my posts. Not sure how this site works yet. Have only used the mobile version so far
