Rifleman's Roost Open 24/7: Perpetually Perplexed

As some DDa's clear the medium in my pots, I find myself pondering their feeding routing before moving them to Osmo.
Are they heavy or light feeders? When do you introduce nutrients and how much? Any trait related deficiencies? Is there a Greek God I could appease that would allow them to grow better?

In my experience they are light feeders showing the dreaded claw everytime I grow one. I start seedlings around 350ppm in dwc and haven't had a problem yet. They are calcium hogs under an LED too.

Greek God's? Bah ! Love Mother Earth and She will reward us. :circle-of-love: Here's to smoking purple bud in 100 days or so. :passitleft:

Beautiful plants man! Im really sorry about you losin your animal. They are like family to me. Unconditional love man. Keep on growin these beautiful girls! Funtastic brother! :volcano-smiley:

Is it harvest day already? Damn skippy ! DD3 and 4 were chopped to death this morning. Day 84. The other two will get the same treatment in about two weeks. :)

If you'll think back you'll remember that DD3 was the shorter of the two plants. DD4 was also the one of the two which received a bunch of AN's additives at recommended dosages, while DD3 only got the mgb. That would lead you to believe that DD4 should have the heavier harvest. Not this time.

DD3 was 662g wet, and DD4 was 506g. A total of 1168g wet. I use the pessimistic figure of 18% return from wet weights, mostly so I'm not disappointed. :biglaugh: That's a predicted total of around 210g or 7.5oz dry. :yahoo:

I have to go burn one now, y'all relax, take your shoes off, and make a few guesses at DD1 & 2 weights. :)

Happy weekend cannabis enthusiasts! :) Not much happening at The Roost. Still waiting on the DD3/4 to dry. Looking at DD1/2 this morning I noticed that 95% of the pistils have turned. I'll give them a few more weeks to fatten up then go mid-evil with the Fiskers.

The DC/JK grow is taking off. I'm changing water tomorrow, first time since they were made up for this run. Today is day 18ish above ground and I noticed sex showing on both JK and DC1 last night. :yahoo: The water level is slowly dropping, as are pH and ppm. That means I'll be raising the nutrient level when I change water. Since they took the 1ml/L nutrient mix well as sprouts, I'm going to raise one of each to AN's recommended 2ml/L (more than I usually run in bloom even) and see what happens. If they don't burn too bad I can raise the others next week, or do an emergency water change if it's too much.

Peace out y'all, the sun is shining and I'm off to get some much needed vitamin D while playing in the mud and chasing cows. :peace:

EDIT: Photos tomorrow... I promise.

Yay! Lucas is getting all experimental on us again. I never had the courage to try maxing out the nutes. This should be interesting.

Water Change on day 19. :) Nutrient values were raised today. #1 plants are at 30ml mgb in 15L h2o and #2 plants are getting 24ml/15L.

The DC are 9.25 inches each, and the JK are at 6.5inches each. Waiting for the stretch to hit this week sometime. :)

Group Shot Day 19

Well you have it going on there Luke. I believe I'll follow up my current DDAs with a couple DCs. I want to see this one for myself ASAP. :laughtwo: You sure do have a way with these babies. :high-five:

Geez..... 4 PM and I haven't been to my own yard yet. Let me amend that oversight. :cheesygrinsmiley: Have a wonderful day.

They are looking good and healthy. Looking forward to seeing them through.

Cheers.

Good afternoon to you too Ditch. :hugs:  :hugs:

I'm starting to feel more normal, so I'm either going to become more social or get more lost in study. Hard to tell which way I'll go. :laughtwo:

They certainly do not look overfed. :MoreNutes:

Thanks DW. I'm anxious to get these going too. Beta testing you might say. :)

I don't do anything Sue. My job is just make sure they don't run dry. :biglaugh: BTW, you do realize there should be a 1 in 3 chance of a DC going purple? :yahoo:

Good afternoon to you too Ditch. :hugs:  :hugs:

Still swollen? At least it didn't keep you from eating brownies.

:biglaugh: Give it a day or two Hemi. I expect to see burnt tips by tomorrow. I've only run 2ml/L once before, and it left a salt ring in the bucket I needed a chisel to get out. That plant took it fine(bag seed), but I don't think the DD genes are going to like it very much.

How do y'all feel about getting back to some serious cannabis growing ? :) We've wandered the track and cut corners but I want this to help folks too.

Since this is a beta grow of sorts on the Short Stuff Auto Jedi Kush (not yet in stores I don't believe), and the Devil's Crack has only been grown once before, this is a good time to document some data and photos for anyone trying to duplicate or follow along and think their numbers are wrong. :biglaugh: Yeah its that unbelievable.

The stretch is about to hit so if you are just now finding a chair you've picked a good time. :) The first thing you'll notice are the pH and reservoir temps are too high. No argument from me, but somehow I continue to harvest. :hmmmm: It must be the Luck of the Irish. ;)

Data will be listed daily in this format; plant...height...pH...ppm Here are the numbers from yesterday's water change and again this morning. :Namaste:

Sunday

Two days in my garden with Advanced Nutrients pH Perfect MGB. Buffering agents are working overtime. :peace:

Hey Rifleman! Thanks for the latest update!

Question - with the AN buffered nutes, is it the case that the pH can go outside the normal range but the nutrients are still being absorbed properly? I'm guessing that's the case based on your pH readings from today. I was under the initial impression that the AN nutes will keep the pH within the proper range, but I guess I was wrong, right?

That was my impression too Timmy. And why the hell not? AN's video propaganda says as much. :icon_roll It might work that way at the full 4ml/L dosage, but it hasn't been my experience yet.

As far as the nutrients still being available, they must be because I do manage to harvest a crop every now and then. ;)

Greetings folks.I just finished checking the humidity of the DDA I jarred yesterday. I went a slight bit overboard... this batch is getting two Boveda packs, it was at 57%.

DD3 126g/4.5oz and DD4 101g/3.6oz. Total of 227g/8.1oz. :goof:

I'll be back mid-morning with the pH and ppm readings from the DC/JK grow, right now I hear Cracker Barrel's biscuits and gravy calling my name. :biglaugh:

Dammit Luke, I need to learn to harvest in those numbers without resorting to full-out hydro.

Excellent numbers being posted. We should be neighbors, you know? I'd be trotting down the lane with breakfast brownies....oh wait....you have your own, and I believe you make them more powerful than I :laughtwo: yeah..... We should be neighbors. :hugs:

Yield is a major reason I grow dwc. :)

Good show! :passitleft:

Thanks Canad. :thanks:

It's that time. :) Another pH, ppm, temperature update. Glad I'm not a worrier.
