Rider509: Two Thais & G13

Guy, I pour water over the stones around the periphery in the morning and at night, never directly on the plant, to keep the stones moist and to force the roots to seek. And my clone light is on 24/7, but not right on them.

Your little plant will grow roots much faster then top leaves. As Rider said " a sprinkle morning and night" to wet stones and she will be good if light is not burning her up. In fact she could be many feet from light with no troubles. When the roots get to water as SD said keep lowering water level till you have 1-2 inches of air under net pot. If the air stone bubbles are right under the net pot you will find even with it about an inch from water it will be wet enough to keep her healthy. If you have water falls and constant circulation air stone is not needed in my opinion. In just a bucket I used an air stone. I got my start looking at Rider and SD, so you have picked a couple of real good guys to follow. I just took things a little different then them. Its funny you are going from soil to hydro and I am doing the opposite. I can say I find the soil much more difficult then hydro and more of a challenge. If you have not picked a nute lineup yet, I would look into Chem-Gro or if you want something that looks really impressive to me but also $$$ its the RAW product line. Enough from me, let us all know if you start a journal I am sure we will all pile in.

Thanks for all the help guys.

I'm not using an air stone because I'm using a pond pump so ultimately I would be trying to bubble water, unless i introduce air somehow. I did buy one on the way home, tried it....discovered this outcome lol. I have an air pump too with a manifold but it's too loud to bubble at night being that my present space is right beside my bedroom lol......sometimes a little too close.

I'm only doing the Hydroponics single bucket as an experiment to see how I like it, I am the same as you JustMeds, I am actually collecting all of my amendments presently to do and LOS grow. I'll also use this opportunity to invite you over to my grow and take a look around if you like..... These guys are regulars LOL.

What about a "rhizo" product yo help with root growth? How about a product to help keep my water sparkling clean lol? I looked for Hydroguard today at the hydro store to no avail, I did however find a product by Botanicare called hydroplex?

I don't think much of choice of the power connector. 2.5mm may be what Growmau5 had hanging around, or standard in some part of the world but here it def isn't. I suggested to RapidLED that they'd be better off using bare wire terminals. I just bypassed the barrel connectors.
And yes, the soldering is shit thank you very much. I wasn't at my workstation and made a soldering iron with a lighter and a paper clip. Primitive Pete as it gets.

Then Rider said, "Let there be red light", and there was red light. And he saw that it was good, and the plants rejoiced for their phytochromes were transitioned to sleep mode.

Omg..... I have a photo that you sent me like a month ago showing me how your lights were set up, if those are the same plants..... That is totally ridiculous!

How much height do you have left and when do you consider supercropping?

I still have 18" above the lights that are 6" above the plants. And since the lights are flat they can go right up to the ceiling. If push comes to shove I can remove the shelves the totes are on and gain another 6". It should be okay.

And if I need to supercrop I'm counting on the collective wisdom here to help me get it right.
