Rex's Perpetual Hydroponics, LED, 4x4 Tent Using TBC 10 Gal System: All Are Welcome, Come Learn & Help

Thanks Verbalist, the start of this journal was troublesome. But luckily the last grow had a much much smoother start :laughtwo:

Thanks Baron, are you in Canada?
Stampede city!

Well, time to knock the dust off this journal, and pop some more beans!
I've enjoyed my lil break, but have been slowly working a bit each day on putting this together. My Kitty Litter RDWC. Yup, it's made from Kitty Litter buckets :laughtwo:. Why? More for fun than anything else. I was going to keep it simple and do a Dutch bucket run, but decided to peice this together for some winter fun. Though next time I'll just order the black buckets, rather then spray paint them like I did (cost me almost as much as it would to have ordered them). But if you're limited for options, as shown here, it's doable.

So...let me start off with this caveat. I expect problems with this system. The roots will most likely enter the drains and clog them, despite my preventative measures.

So in the picture below are three buckets for plants, and one control bucket. Outside the grow cabinet is the chiller and top up bucket (100L tote, plumbed in with a float valve inside the control bucket). Inside the control bucket is two water pumps, one for the chiller and one for the top feed circulation, for that fallponics effect. The return line from the chiller, and the top feeds create a nice splash inside each bucket (the chiller dumps into the control bucket).

The bottom line is just a 3/4 line (should be bigger) and top feed is 1/2 line.

There is still lots of tweaking to do, but the beans should get dropped fairly soon.

And here is the wonderful 420h from @NextLight up top which I'll be using this winter, thank you again Nextlight, it's a work of art and fits perfectly inside my grow cabinet. The tent will remain frozen over for the winter.

Here for the samples at the end....

Looks like a good set up! Here to watch the show!
Thanks N420! Happy to see you around, this one is just going to be some keep busy kinda fun.

So I should also mention, this grow is going to be quite overly packed inside the cabinet.
Especially if all three are females (there's a chance for one male).

I dropped some beans into pre-soaked rapid rooters a few hours ago.

I'll be growing three different cultivars (aka strains).

1x Wappa Autoflower (fem)
1x Gorilla Glue autoflower (fem)
1x AK-47xWhite Widow autoflower (reg)

I've managed to get a hold of a few of the Ak-47xWhite Widow Autoflower regs and will be popping one each grow, in hopes of getting some pollen. It seems like a solid base of genetics for making my own personal Autoflower crosses, and a way of keeping hybrids of my favorite strains.

So just like last time then? I'm here for the mangled root porn. :ciao:
Careful Shed- that's an almost ptsd kinda memory- that root all curled up...

And yeah, I guess that part is fairly consistent with my grows, clogged drains. That reminds me, I need to set the water sensor up in case of flooding.

Though this time there will be barely any hydroton, so...its possible for actual root porn this time!!! :high-five:

Was hoping you were going to use the other light.... just for my own scientific cross referencing.

Ahh our mutual light, that beast won't pop back out until springish. I was going to use it originally, but the cabinet is small (56 inches high, 44 inches wide, and 35 inches deep).

The Nextlight 420h seems to be the smarter match for the cabinet, and shows appreciation for their contributing it to the Grow Journal of the Month contest.

This spring there's some big ambitions ahead of me. A nice solar system, and two small grow rooms out in the garage. One of those rooms will have that light :cheesygrinsmiley: . Plus 4 plants outside.

Absolutely!!

Hello Rex! I’m grabbin a front seat over here

1x Gorilla Glue autoflower (fem)
Brooo I’m bouncin between auto NL or GG from fastbuds.
Gorilla glue suits for hydro very well and terp profiles good.
NL just being so easy and the 90% indica content makes it truly night time smoke.

Which one should I buy? :d

Hey Verbalist!

Well, I love NL so it's hard not to say go
for it. But GG has been on my "want to try" list for some time now. If you can get Gorilla glue #4 that's the one you really want, I couldn't get hold of any, hence it's GG#1 auto for me.

I think NL can get quite big from what I remember, so keep that in mind!
