@Rexer - Thanks for pointing me here; I’ve bookmarked this thread and am going to start reading from the first post to see if there’s anything you’ve addressed that I want to ask. Im sure I’m going to be picking your brains and asking lots along the way (from you, @Tokin Roll, and anyone else that knows about hydro and autos!)

My first grow a few years ago didnt turn out bad - I even felt pretty accomplished when folks on the old board I belonged to were impressed that a GIRL would start with HYDRO and was able to even make it to a HALFWAY decent harvest ;). But this time around I want to do BETTER!

Hi Cjsbabygirl!

Oh the first half of this journal was, ah ,a lot of growing pains shall we say. New hydro system, lots of whine with no cheese :laughtwo: - the start of my current sponsored journal went much much smoother

You can and will do better. I don't believe gender or race has anything to do with what a person is capable of. Your driven to succeed, that will take you where you need.

There's plenty of very talented female growers on here and a few love hydro as well. @Northern Hydro @copperrein are two that pop to mind right away. Both are incredible growers.

By the way I'm sorry that somehow I overlooked this notification, hence the late reply!

No worries! S’all good! I’ll keep an eye out for the two gals you mentioned, maybe they’ll pop by my journal and grab a chair :):) Thanks for everything so far! You’ll be hearing more from me I’m sure *lol*

No worries - my new lights should be here today; god only knows when the seeds will show up. Tried the last 5 Double Grape seeds I had - no luck with those either. So this morning I popped 5 Sour Livers in water and before I go to bed I’m just gonna drop the bloody things into rapid rooters directly in the hydroton. I mean seriously, got nothing to lose at this point!

(Am I supposed to cover the hole in the rooter with some loose rooter material?)

Just push it about 1/2" into the Rooter and leave it.
Stay safe.

Tx Bill! I hate starting seeds *grumble grumble*

Basically everything as Bill said, and yes, cover the hole. You don't want the tap root exposed to light. I tear a tiny chunk off the edge of the rooter and cover the hole (same thing with rockwool).

Seed starting is always a delicate dance. I feel like a bull in a glass shop everytime

Daymnn brother Rex!

Took this diary under the read now. Last time when we discussed about it, I just went thru first couple pages.

I feel u more than 100% now! Setback is my second name as well  You went thru some serious troubles and ended up with closet full of buds.
:thumb:

This journal was actually really instructive and I feel like got a new handful of tips n tweaks for using hydro.
Whole 28 pages were pleasure to read. I see where you started and where you now, just impressive!

Thanks Verbalist, the start of this journal was troublesome. But luckily the last grow had a much much smoother start :laughtwo:

'Morning Bill!

Hope you didn't get buried in that big snowfall! Crazy how fast things turned white!

I keep looking out the window, knowing I need to go out there to get stuff done, then just go brrrr and say "nope" :nomo:

It really slows the outdoor garden.
I love seeing everyone growing outside in the winter.
Saves 4 hrs cutting grass though, hehe.

Stay safe
