Renegade's Hydro Flux - Featuring TwiLight Group's 432 Watt Spider COB LED

Good stuff what your doing there man. I'll get there....someday. hehe

I couldn't get to their site, but Sara did say not long ago that they were going to be undergoing some changes. This may be a prelude to their new site being initiated.

You better be patient Jake...LOL.

I was trying to access it on my home computer. On the laptop right now and will try again.

My man...LOL.

We'll get you (and the rest of us...LOL) straightened out.

Ask that question regarding wattage, HPS and LED here. Let's see what the SME's have to say on it. I was gonna respond with this direction in mind anyway. Wish I knew the answer but I have no experience with HPS.

There are plenty here that do....hold on to your seats folks its about to get bumpy...LOL.

I'll get it started with this.....

Wattage....input or output....or both. What's the equivalent HPS to LED wattage??

Example: If my brother has a 600watt HPS and wants to convert or change out to LED what would be the equivalent?

What's the difference between a 93*3 and 144*3 (just using them as an example...LOL) other than both being 3watt LED's and one having 51 more lights then the other?

170-200 draw for the 96*3 and 250-300 for the 144*3.

How does that translate to output?

Why would it matter other than electricity draw?

Ok, there it is....keep it on topic and remember....NO BASHING OUR SPONSORS!!! They pay to be here we don't. Their claims are ours to figure out on our own.

ALL of them will grow this little plant we call Weed!!!

Wow Renegade...you sure put a lot of time and effort into tying down all of the heads of the flux arms with string and scotch tape. I'm sure that it will pay off during stretch and trying to keep the canopy even. :goodjob:

FYI - I just ordered some rooting plugs from AeroGrow so that I can start 1 or 2 seeds in my AG. I'm thinking that I can get started in the AG and then transplant them once I get my whole setup. Did you soak your seeds before putting them in the AG plug or not? :thanks:

Hello there Ms. Sprite...LOL. Ms or Mrs....

Was about to post an update and was actually in your garden and saw your reference to the AG.

So with my AG grow....

I keep my seeds in the freezer. This storage method has not failed me yet. Some store in cool, dry, dark place.

I first set up my AG. Then I take my seeds straight from the freezer and place them in the pod and place that into the AG. Use the little dome thingy that comes with the AG and don't use any nutrients in the res.

My seeds normally pop within 2-3 days. Seems like without thinking I have placed them in the AG and my current grow on a Wednesday and by Friday the seedling was pushing up on the dome and wanted out. OBTW....place the seed pointy side down. My current grow I placed it flat side down and that was wrong but it did not hinder the plant from pop'n out it's head. It's just more work for it.

Set the lights to off till the seedling pop's and then I set it to 24 hour light for at least the first week. Make sure you get a timer so you can use it to control your light schedule. I didn't trust the light schedule the AG is preprogrammed for. If you don't have a lights off setting simply unplug the hood from the base. That way the pump continues to run.

If you or anyone else has time (and the stomach...LOL) go back and review my AG journal.

Let me know if that helps.

I started mine in my Aerogarden. I didn't soak my seed, I just made sure the plug was wet, worked like a charm! She is in a DWC set up now, and a couple weeks from harvest. Renegade, you should know her name is Sweet Renee. The Renee is in honor of you. I would never have tried the AG if not for you! Now I have a pretty little autoflower with your name on it!!

And now a quick update on the wonders of the Spider...LOL.

I raised the Spider to it's highest position which is 27" from the res. Approximately 24" from the plant. As was suggested this should give me a wider spread and penetration and hopefully will make her stretch more towards the light.

This is a new stage for the Spider and my gurl....the Stretch...So lets see how she responds.

Not sure when I should do my first defol but I believe Professor said let her get some height to her before the first good defol. I will however keep an eye on those pesky fans and make sure they are not shading any heads.

So she is in full vertical stage now. Not much height but all heads are turned up and most the canopy is even except of course the main Flux heads. I've attached and pulled down on all of them and also had to pull some out and away to help with spacing.

I believe this string thingy may just work.

Ya'll be the judge...LOL.

And without further adu...

FYI - it's Ms. Thanks for the AG info. I ordered the plugs on Thursday, so I'll probably get them this week. I think that I'm going to start with auto seed(s) so that I don't have to do too much for my first grow. How long do you think that I should let em grow in the AG before transplanting? This question also goes out to MagicMediwana.

Hey Ms C Sprite! I had my auto in the AG for 1 month. I don't think I would wait that long again. She got a little stretchier than I would have liked because you just can't drop the light hood down far enough. I have been putting off dropping another seed because I am not positive when my black cream will finish and I will need her place for the newbie. I should just drop it tonight and get it over with. And, Renegade's AG journal is worth the time!!

Hey Renegade, I noticed that her leaves grow pretty fast, I remember you cut some in the last week, but it grow again so many. :circle-of-love:

Good morning my friend....

Yes, she grows so fast that I had to trim twice a week to keep the heads in line. Now we're in new territory with the stretch stage so we'll let her get some length before the first real defol.

However, I will trim any fans that won't stay out of the way of the heads.

Our plan from here is....

Get at least 6-8" of height before flipping to 12/12.

With this light that shouldn't take a month, maybe 2-3 weeks.

I'll give her the first defol at about 3" of new growth and again at 6". I can decide then whether or not to flip.

Her height right now is about 2" from res.

So the scheduled date for 12/12 is October 15. That will give me 7-8 weeks for flower.

Still on track for a Christmas harvest.

On another note....

Flux heads are now dominant tops and I can just check on her periodically to maintain that.
