Renegade's Hydro Flux - Featuring TwiLight Group's 432 Watt Spider COB LED

I don't know about having OCD, but...I have been told that I'm a bit of a control freak :;):

As far as time consuming, that shouldn't be an issue. As long as I have a stool to sit on, I think that I can get in close enough to do all of the trimming and training, although I'm thinking that my first grow will be a couple of free auto seeds that I'll just let do their thing so I can get used to everything.

I saw that the shipping is free this month (usually $299) for the growboxusa cab that I've been considering, so if things go according to plan, I'll be growing soon. :woohoo: ... and I'll for sure need some help then. :cheesygrinsmiley:

Went to grow box usa. Nice equipment. Expensive compared to a soil grow. Very nice equipment.

I meant to ask this when I first saw them...what are you using as the major tie downs (the 4 that run parallel to each other)?

Hey there Sprite....

They are rubberized gardening tie downs. I bought the first set off Amazon and the second set (haven't used them yet) I got from Hommies (HomeDepot). The second set are not as thick and should do nicely for the side shoots. I may even replace the thicker first set because I don't like them being so thick.

So the first thing is ordering and shipping. Order was placed....officially on the 4th or 5th. Shipped on the 08th and arrived today (12th).

Labeling is not as stealth as we would like it to be. One label says "LED Aquarium Light" but the shipping label says "LED Grow Light". We need to work on that. Most of us would like total stealth if possible.

In their defense I checked my other boxes from other manufacture's and theirs also give an indication of what's inside. The label had the product model number on it with the letters "LED" included.

Now for the box itself...

As you can see by the pics it got beat up pretty bad.

It's not going to get opened till Saturday so I'll give another update on the contents at that time.

Tease....LOL. Dam right....LOL.

Sent "J-Sun" an email with a final title for my journal. So waiting on his reply before making the change official. I'm not going to waist time creating another journal and will just continue where this one left off with the title change and official unveiling over the weekend.

Thank you very much for feedback. glad to hear about you have got the lamp. HAHA :)

Damn it! the postmen are rude for our little Spider!!! anyway, I think I need to tell our engineers to improve the package. :lot-o-toke:

Also my apology for the label was not made with stealth, to be honest, we didn't hear about this requirement. anyway, we will care about it.

Will be looking forward to seeing more pictures of the lamps which open with your treasures. HAHA:circle-of-love:

It looks like your girl is opening up quite nicely. Great trim job. :welldone: Can't wait to see your Spider in action. :high-five:

Good morning Sprite....

Yes, she is doing just fine. Time away allows her some recoup time. If I were home every day it would be constant attention. It's cool to get home and see her progression. And a day or two away seems to be perfect for allowing her time enough to turn back up before being pulled back down.

Treasure indeed...lol.

Do not appologize for the postal delivery. Completely out of your hands. If you had delivered it yourself it would have been presten.

As far as stealth packaging, it's not a requirement per say but most here would like it to be. I mentioned it for that reason only.

IMO you guys did great and the best feed back so far is the delivery time. Once payment is confirmed package arrived within 5 days.

Update coming....

Patience my azz....lol.

It's Saturday and time to open my new toy...lol.

First the contents of the package....

Intact and undamaged. Big foam blocks on all corners (top and bottom) and foam sheets on top and bottom. Similar to all other manufactors.

Now for the lamp...

The Spider is a tad heavier then my other light. One could argue its better materials. Quality of materials on the outside are high grade. Not flimsy at all and feels very solid in my hands. Shook it a little and nothing rattling inside....yea. 4 anchor points in each corner for hanging. 1 on off switch for power. 4 large vents on top. (with a Spider logo in the middle of each) and vents on all 4 sides. You'll need them....see below.

Now if I told you I put the Spider back in its cage till Saturday (oh wait, it's Saturday in my mind...lol) without plugging it in I would be lying...lol.

HOLLY COB BATMAN!!!

First, when I plugged it in the light and it's fans came on together. The fan noise didn't seem to be any louder then my other light.

But the thing I liked the most is the brightness of the lamp. Brighter then my other in veg only stage. With double glasses (PSA...don't do this at home kids...lol) on I looked into each (4) lamp and could clearly see the array of the LED's. All colors appeared to be there.

IMO, this lamp will give you the depth that you need.

With the light still on I held it up next to my other light and the spread is clearly better at the same height.

The biggest factor which I will monitor closely is the heat. Not just the heat of the lamps themselves as it relates to the plant but the amount of heat that will be generated inside the cabinet.

With both LED's on I placed my hand below the lights. The Spider is noticeably hotter. Moved my hand closer and moved it away. Slight concern...??? Not!!! To my very big surprise I put my hand directly on the COB and it was not hot at all. Not cold just glass cold. The heat I was feeling was coming from the COB and more so from the LED's themself? Or the combination of all inside the COB?

For me and my cabinet the Spider will be installed at its highest point and ratched down till I find a safe spot.

So that's my initial review of this product. A review from the little guy. Let's see what the big boys have to say....

Even before installing the Spider I have to say that I am very impressed. To say that's an easy task would be an understatement. It will be installed on Saturday but will update the opening of the box with pics on Thursday.

Let the questions and comments begin.

the pic, the pic, the pic, the pic !!!!

that's a very good new, first you've been home while this led arrived and you've where so much patient, congratz !! :ganjamon:

Can you make a recap of the spec of this panel ??

As i understood the COB are like dedicated Multi LED chips packaged together as one lighting module so how many have you for what output power and wattage consumption ?? do you have to install it higher than normal led ?

i will Love to compare this to Mars panel

Patience my azz... :)

That is right up there with one of the best grow log first paragraphs

May I first say.... I hate Mylar  :) or something like that :)

Congratulations on your sturdy, high quality, high output, high grin factor new light! :thumb:

LMAO....And I still hate Mylar...lol.
