Renegade's Hydro Flux - Featuring TwiLight Group's 432 Watt Spider COB LED

Let me begin by saying....

Seems while I was away we lost a near and dear friend to the 420 community. I wanted to take this time to extend my heart felt wishes to those that BID touched.

He will be missed....

So I toast in an the old Irish tradition....Slante' my Irish Brethen....."Ar dheis De go raibh a anam"...."May your soul be at the right hand of God"

I want to cut those fans.....

Input.....

Thanks Skunny....

Yea, I love the tight nodes on this one. I did some more spreading and will continue to do spreading through out the grow to keep the nodes close.

We will have to lean on each other till LA is up and at em again.

I think I'll cut the fans and the over/under limbs tomorrow after res change out.

Just the first set...

Looking good buddy! :) Yep rub the under overs off as soon as they start. Good placement on the restraints, leaving enough for growing tips to point up! This is what works in conjunction with the opening up of tips to give you great node spacing.
The one point is that I always remove the fan leaves sat on top pointing back into center. These shadow the nodes your trying to grow out. So I whip em off constantly whenever a set are forming.
The opposing leave that is on underside and points away I leave untill it starts to become taken over by the flux arm itself! :)

Comments welcomed.....

Hope everyone has a good weekend.

The master has spoken! :) All hail LA :Namaste::adore:
You're doing a fine job with her now Renegade & she's sure to be a great flux.:)
I'm going to right all the wrongs I've done on mine on my next flux. There's so much I didn't know when I started as it was a complete accident, hell I didn't even know I was doing one until someone told me & by then I'd broken so many rules.

Hi my friend

Love your pics as always and your details as always too

Thanks to LA too for fan leave lesson :)

And now my lesson from you : i saw your PPM variation and have a question, your ppm comes from 599 to 973 and the optimist version of my calculation give me and EC variation from 0.85 to 1.4. ???

Good luck mate, love your job

Good day to you too my friend....

Remember what PPM is....the amount of stuff (since no one can really tell what's in there...LOL) in your res. Weeks 1 and 2 had a low PPM because I was in week 1 of GH's recommendations. I pushed the norm here by extending or changing my res every 2 weeks instead of every week. I did however mixed 1 gallon of nutes for the off week which is why you saw the slight increase before this change out. I did this by taking out a gallon and putting in the gallon of fresh nutes.

Weeks 3 and 4 got/will get GH's week 2 recommendation. I'll do the same thing for my off week as I did above. That's why you saw the big jump to 900 plus.

Also, i'm only going at 80% so my PPM would normally be over 1000K if I were at 100%.

My reason for this is I don't want to over feed. I would rather let the plant tell me when and IF she is hungry rather then sticking to an exact schedule. IMO, changing out the res every other week rather than every week is perfectly fine.

1 plant in a six gallon res remember... She'll get plenty to eat....

My weeks may seem a bit off but remember, the first week we didn't add any nutes at all....

Still a good eye for what you saw and I greatly appreciate the question so I can re-enforce what I'm doing in my head.

On another note and I'm hoping for some input from the DWC guys....

Last week I noticed some film or stuff build up in the res. As a result of what I saw last week I flushed the res with 3 gallons of clean water before adding the fresh nutrients. I also stirred the res during the draining process to get as much of the build up out as possible.

What is the build up and do I need to be concerned with it? I'm assuming it's just the wasted nutrients that the plant didn't take up. The roots look fine. An off white color.

Could this also be a result of the res temps??? I'm still having issues with the chiller. Sometimes it works and most times it doesn't. But at least the temps only run high around 78-80. At the moment its below 70 with the help of some ice bottles.

what do you mean by film?
im assuming some kinda layer or something looking like its on the surface of the water
ive never noticed anything like that as my bubblers move the water at a good rate
but as normal I do weekly res changes and clean my res during those times
premix and ph the amount I need then put the plant back in
I also while the plant is not in the res buckets flush the roots out with a few cups of water from the top down
