Renaissance Man's First Official Grow: Blueberry OG, Gorilla Zkittles & Cream Caramel In Soil

Flower Day 26
Water/Feed day

So I decided to water today. I'm still unclear at this point on how to water. I'm hearing "wait until the pot is light" and also hearing "don't wait until the pot is light in flower." So I watered. They're not soaked, but we'll see what happens in a few days as they dry out.

I have to say, CC the freebie seed, has by far the most trichomes already. I think this is going to turn into a very sticky plant. I also love how I somehow created and even canopy.

GZ is looking good as well, minus the purple on the top. Again, I think it is from the cold weather and not deficiencies, but I may be wrong.

Lastly BB is still the bushiest despite a big trim. I'm hesitant to do any more trimming at this point and just let her grow.

The conundrum I have is with this droughting technique that I may implement. I just now realized that I will be out of town on days 57-61. Pretty much when they are expected to be finished. So my thought is to start the droughting on Day 46 and let it ride out to day 56 or 57 and then give a water until I get back and then harvest. I'm not sure I can even plan on that because I don't know how the trichomes will develop at that time. I may have to harvest one or all before I even leave? Help.

The drought response and what is called drought escape will kick in. I don't think that is too far off of the riding scale that we have kind of made. When that drought response happens, that is when that trichome building will kick in. So long as the process is being done in that late flower window you should be fine, RM, and still benefit from the droughting. Your first time I wouldn't say cool you'll be gone for it cause I think it's important for you to monitor it so the idea of doing it earlier seems better for you in the long run

Is there a too early to begin droughting?

Coincidentally, I have been adapting a little more of your technique but I refuse to use the term waterboarding
Look I’m gonna be brave and just say it at the risk of being stoned to death with lengthy MJ Water Bible thesis's!

I think so many growers overthink watering and turn it into an ordeal. I mean it’s watering a plant, you’re not splitting an atom or curing cancer, your watering a fucking plant. Just put some water in a can, lift it then tip it bruv.

I just bought a bunch of those little hygrometers that measure humidity and temperature so I can put it in the jars when I'm ready. Well, I tried one out in the tent just to get a measure.. Good gawd, my humidity is at 80% and 78F with the tent closed. Looks like I'll be smelling more of the plants for the next few weeks. With the door open, it looks like I can manage 45% and 73F

Glad I checked.

whadya mean?
It's funny I was just going back to look at your pics. Had to zoom in to see that they were older than I thought they were. How old are they know, I should know this

Oh. Well Maybe then yes I would wait. Unless you want to be the one to try small more frequent staggered droughts for us lol

Does anybody else feel like CC on the far left needs more nutrients, while BB on the far right seems to be on the verge of a N toxicity?

They are just entering that late flower stage at week 4 so maybe week 5 or 6 would be best for you to start earlier

Yes. Different strains. Dealing with it now but I wouldn't go so far to say toxicity

No I'm not droughting yet!! I'm still going to wait a few weeks!

Oh good, did I misinterpret your post on if anyone thinks it's too early to start droughting? Lol

I had to look back and see what you were referring to.. No, you understood right, I just wasn't referring to now, only in general. But I think what I'm going to do is start it right before I leave on day 56 and check again in 4 days when i return.. you think that's too dangerous?
