Renaissance Man's First Official Grow: Blueberry OG, Gorilla Zkittles & Cream Caramel In Soil

I have heard this alot all around the internet and from people. Honestly do you know 100% if it's not true?. And it would make perfect since. They give u the seeds that are old or don't pass the quality check as "free seeds". Seed banks also never guarantee the free seeds. Wonder why that is. What better way to get rid of them then give them to customers as "free seeds". It's a marketing gimmick. And a good one. I'm not saying it's Bad thing by any means. I think it's awesome that they do it. And I have nice plants out of the free seeds also . But that doesn't mean it wasn't old or didn't pass the quality check. It means I got a good freebe

Ps. Not trying to argue just trying to learn. Maybe you do know 100% that it's not true. I have not heard this from a seed bank so Im not saying it's 100% true bc it is in fact hearsay on my end. I'm just saying I personally believe it and it's the only way "free seeds" makes sense to me.
I know we're always trying to be optimistic. And I know you're not in it for an argument lol of course I don't know I have never worked at a seed bank to know! I'm just basing it off good 420 edicate is all...I could be wrong but I just know either way, the freebies have done me well-past prime or not. Merry Christmas you guys!!! At least we can be happy with the end results regardless and smoke some nice home grown over the holidays :passitleft:

Freebies, I would imagine, are great for newer growers like myself who can get some more practice and take a chance that you might have to pull the plant for one reason or another. But it may very well be a great plant that produces nice buds. It reminds me of when you go to a dog breeder for a puppy, and if the puppy is not show quality, the price is reduced dramatically, even though the puppy still will grow into a loving dog with the "wrong" colors.

Very well put RM!!

Merry Christmas, Ren.

Strap yourself in too bruv. I have a feeling 2022 is gonna be a Clanger!
Haha..I hope clanger = good. If so, I'm ready for some clanger grows for sure! Merry Christmas to you and yours also @Trala

Flower day 18 (3 days until a defoliation)
1 day since water/feed

All the plants look good today but CC has definitely some yellowing going on. I upped the TegaBrop to 2.2g / 1.5L or (5g/gal equivalent) and we'll see if I can keep up that dosage. I also upped the other two by .1g/1.5L to 1.9g. Still no scent of herb yet.
Merry Christmas, y'all!!

Flower day 19
2 days since water/feed

So as typical, I was impatient and did defol yesterday. I can't say if they look better or worse but it looks like there will definitely be more light that penetrates through. It looks like I have less buds than I thought because the plants look like they lost a ton of weight.

Help y'all! I'm starting to panic a little. I upped my nutes a little the other day but it looks like the yellowing leaves is continuing. Do I need to up them again or is it another issue? I am currently at 5.5g / gal equivalent. Maybe someone with experience with these nutes like @MrSauga or @Virgin Ground can help?

Hi RM!
When you say equivalent, what else are you giving them? Can you fill me in a bit on the media, water frequency and amount?
Can you also post what the GA is on the bag of MC that you use? It's on the back of the bag typically.

Hey @MrSauga thank you for reaching out so quickly. I have only been giving them MC and 10ml of DIY Calmag per 1.5L of water. After I add the Calmag and then the MC, I have been adjusting pH to 6.4 -6.5 which is down from about 7.4. I have been feeding every water which is about 4 days or so.

Forgot to add that I am in soil. Happyfrog, Oceanforest and Perlite.

OK, so do you know the Ca and Mg content of the DIY stuff? I'll need to know the percentages of N, Ca, and Mg to try and work something out.

OK, that's fine. With FFOF there is no need to adjust the pH. Save your money. The soil is buffered which corrects the pH for you. If you are feeding lots of ammoniacal N then you may run into issues after two or three uses of the soil, but if it's fresh you don't have to worry.

Your plants look like they are about three weeks into flower. Are the pots getting light before you water them?

Thanks for the GA of the MC. Let me see what I can come up with.

This is the problem I have with that, is that I would not know how to calculate this. It was the cook the egg shell and let ferment for 3-4 weeks in apple cider vinegar method. I don't know if I am overdoing it or not.

I was struggling about 4 weeks in Veg and thought it was my pH was too high. My tap water is over 8. I got some pH down and it seemed to be doing better. Not sure what else to attribute it to. I think I'll continue to keep it at 6.5ish unless that is going to be a problem. I don't mind, since I have it already.

Yes, I am abouit 20 days into Flower. I usually wait until the leaves start to get droopy and then double check by lifting them and yes they are lighter. I could probably go an extra day, but they definitely do not feel heavy.

Oh damn. I remember now. After watering that plant a couple of days ago, I left the pot inside the tray and was going to drain the saucer the next morning. When I returned, the water soaked back up. So right now, yes, the pot is heavy. Argh!!!! Probably overwatered now?

Not just you, but many others. If you have no idea what percentage of Ca and Mg you have then it's hard to find the correct diet. Ideally plants want a ratio of 2 to 1 of Ca to Mg. So if you plants were getting 50 ppm of Ca then they need 25 ppm of Mg. DIY is great for organic, but since I don't see really any reason to use it, my suggestion would be to purchase a bottle of a calmag supplement whenever you find you have the opportunity. IMHO.

No need to change. I was just pointing it out. Some feel comfortable adjusting it which is fine. Can't hurt anything.

Your plants look fine tbh. I wouldn't change anything until you adjust your watering frequency. During flower your plants should never dry out. They should never droop or sag and the pots should not feel light. Increase your feeding frequency and lets see what happens

No, in fact it's probably happy. :)

When I returned, the water soaked back up.
I'd suck it back up too if I was thirsty.

I will go get some today. How much should I add to my regular feedings per 1.5L of water? And should it be with every water?
No, in fact it's probably happy. :)
hmmm.. ok, I'll up my MC to 6g / gal equivalent with some bottled Calmag for next feeding which will probably be in a couple of days.

Thanks so much for helping me sort this out! The frost is starting to show and I'm getting excited for these to finish.

I would hold off until you see what happens first with the increased watering.

Just to be clear. I don't think you need to add more food yet. You just need to reduce the amount of time between feedings. The plants will be using lots of water during this period. It's important to make sure you keep them well watered.

Again, your plants look great with the exception of the color loss. I believe this will improve as you feed more. If not, we can look at adding the calmag and increasing the amount of food.
Continue to use the DIY product as I don't see any reason to switch yet.
