Renaissance Man's First Official Grow: Blueberry OG, Gorilla Zkittles & Cream Caramel In Soil

Flower Day 6
2 day since water/feed

I finally got around to updating my journal today after catching up on @Krissi1982's everybody else's journals. There are some really fun journals to watch and participate in. I love seeing how we all have very similar thought processes about some things and yet very different approaches on others... yet we all have the same goal.

Plants are looking good today. I still see a little nute burn tips but I'm not too concerned. I will continue with one more feeding as the last on my next water/feed day, probably Wednesday.

What do you think about the gangsta lean of GZ? This shouldn't be a problem, right? I don't need to support that main stem, do I?

GZ3 started legit standing on her own today.

C3 (PO) is really starting to stand on her own, however, I have not noticed any new growth yet. Still waiting..

CC is one of the best looking plants. This was my freebie seed so I am pleased as how she has gotten to this point. She started off slow because she was in different soil, then went to that ceramic pot and miserably transplanted into the 5gal. She's doing great now, very little signs of nute burn and is really liking being under the P1000 right now.

BB is also doing great. She had some nute burn early on that I still kept the leaf on so I can see how it does. It's been weeks and the leaf has not completely burned up yet, so I guess I'm managing the nutrient schedule fairly ok.

GZ seems to be the toughest for me to grow. She is doing well but seems to be the most sensitive. Either way, she's doing really nice under the P600. This top branch is about 12" under the light.

All is well, happy growing my :420: friends!

Haha.. not at all... I just ran across that quote and thought, I'd really like to grow more plants so I can stay busier. If I had a flower and a veg tent, that would do it. Must. Enter. More. Contests.

Not a lot to report here other than the plants look fantastic and buds are clearly forming. Glad I have no fights to report @Trala

I'm wondering if your GZ was a free seed from your seed bank?. I go trough I49 and I think there "free seeds";are really just the ones that don't pass the quality test. They have been finiky and kinda weird. The ones I actually bought are doing alot better

I don't know. It was packaged in a Barney's Farm package and sealed, but I guess you never know?

You're right... I'm not keeping any of that juju in my grow area... Any mishaps are strictly my own fault.

Flower Day 7
3 days since water/feed

I haven't noticed any dramatic changes other than some observations:

1. I thought they might need a water today but it looks like at least another day or two
2. BB seems to have bigger budsites than the other two.
3. CC has a more thinner/delicate stem structure than the other two. I wonder if that's due to the 90% Indica vs the less Indica dominate hybrid?

I raised CC about 4 inches to closer match the canopy of the others.

Also, BB is very dense inside and am looking forward to day 21 when I can defoliate the inners.

GZ is definitely not as dense but has strong stems. The distance between nodes seems pretty far apart, so I'm not sure how that will play out as it continues to develop.

Both standing up huh?!

Your girls are looking Mickey Mouse, that’s Aussie slang for faaakin grouse. While faakin grouse sounds awful, here it means good. Very very good in fact.
I have a long way to go with my Australian. What were those vegi sandwiches I used to hear about in songs again? I thought a grouse was a bird... anyways.. Thanks @Trala for the compliment.. I was going to ask you, probably should have been on your journal but whatevs, how many times did you top Mimmie? She is way denser and bigger than any of mine.
Both standing up huh?!
Yep!! All on their own.. I don't see new growth yet, but I can only imagine that the roots are starting to spread out underneath and I'll see growth soon. Not sure what I'm going to do with them yet though. One thought is to Bonsai them. That might be a fun little project. Maybe that ceramic pot will come in handy after all

Flower day 10
Water/Feed day

So for some reason, the plants went about 6 days before a water/feed. Maybe the cooler temps are slowing down the soil dry out? Either way, there was no issue. They looked thirsty this morning, especially GZ and BB.

CC still looked pretty good but I gave her a good water/feed anyways. I started to remove some fan leaves on her but I'm trying to wait about 10 more days to give them all a good defol. Some say do it twice in flower, once in the beginning of flip and once about 3 weeks in. Others defol throughout. I'm going with the former. It just seems that BB is really dense inside and probably covering up a lot of bud sites.

Here are the girls after a fresh water/feed this morning. Oh and I fed GZ and BB the regular 1.8g / 1.5L (4g/gal equivalent) and for CC, I fed her 2.0g/ 1.5L (4.5g/gal equivalent)

Oh and one more thing, I've rotated the plants again so now BB is under the P1000, CC is under the P600 and GZ is in the middle

C3 (PO) and GZ3 (I'm trying to go Bonsai with them and train them early. I think they are too far from the light and probably would do better under 18hr light rather than 12h, but oh well, it's just an experiment.

Girls look good. They will do that be hungry as heck and then balance off and then cycle back to it...it's part of their growth cycle I imagine, when they do work at different stages they eat more...at least that is my perception of why my plants, in particular, do that sometimes

Def agree with the light distance and the extra light in veg but hey, you're learning and trying something new!

The plants look different than many other growers.. Not sure if it is environment, strain, nutrients or what, but whatevs.. as long as they finish, I'll be happy.

Who cares! They are YOURS! You made all that and they are all different and all beautiful and they will absolutely finish and finish strong. You have revived them. I remember the first post...to come from our first interaction to now, just :bravo:

Really, RM...you're doing great

Sorry Renner, I missed this question.

I only ever top once. I think I must have been told that in here somewhere coz I didn’t even realise topping again was an option.

Thanks @Krissi1982, I'm sure you feel the same way but I always have higher expectations of myself.

I'm beginning to see that proper lighting is everything. I have a fairly good light, I think, but if I up my game, I'll probably have better bud. Oh well.. let's see how this finishes out.
