Relaxed's Outdoor Medical Grow - 2016

A belated Happy 420 to ya Lester.:high-five: Hope all is well in your herbal world!:blunt:

Alright so I released the spring crop into the planter bed and took 8 clones (2 from each strain). Now I am dedicating the veg space to rooting the clones and also nurturing the SDxNYCDxC91 mother, which will be trained and cloned with diligence and love. 5 of the released plants will need water relatively frequently, as they are only in about 3 gal pots, once the rootball completely forms I will transplant into 7 gal containers, in 2-3 weeks. Things are looking pretty good, so they should grow a lot during this time.

Will post a pic of the planter bed later when the sun angle is just right. :volcano-smiley:

I would just like to state for the record that I am very impressed with the quality of medicine I have been producing lately, I'm not being all high and mighty or anything, because plenty of people produce exceptional grade medical cannabis (indoors, the whole shabang). But I have had the luxury of comparing prime time indoor buds with my own personal grown 100% natural outdoor organic medicine. Let me tell you, there is a big difference. The strains, yes, but the way it was grown and washed. Don't get me wrong, medical dispensaries, at least where I go, have absolutely incredible herb. But I like mine better, not because I grew it, but because it actually tastes better, is smoother, and makes me feel better than the club buds do. It must be because it's actually natural, not pumped with tons of inorganic nutes during flower and then flushed off a conveyor belt, hoping all the excess goes away. It definitely makes me appreciate being able to grow it myself. The final cured buds are sometimes so different than the actual living plant itself, it's sometimes hard to imagine that it even came off a plant! It's just a plant! :adore:

I am happiest when I can just be with the plants, in nature, with their leaves rustling in the wind. The co-evolution between Man and Plants is a darn interesting one. :morenutes:

Here are my ladies.

I have a feeling I'm going to be pretty hard pressed for space once they really start to take off (a good problem to have, I suppose). I'll just go with the flow and make it work somehow.

:Namaste:

More fun in the sun for the main ladies (JD, UD, BB , SC)

Here is that Sour Diesel Dawg variant with a pair of tops growing in (post-fim)
IMG_65769.JPG

The ladies have been watered. I noticed that my Blueberry x Santa Maria plant is a confirmed female, very cool. Considering I clone her and the SD, the strain list will be

1) Jack Dawg
2) Underdawg
3) Swiss Cheese
4) Blackberry
5) Blueberry x Santa Maria
6) Sour Diesel Dawg

I've grown the Blueberry before, last couple years - real real fruity, in fact one batch actually tasted like blueberries, imagine that. Now the SD variant I'm REAL excited to grow and compare to the JH and UN variants. Should be a real nice treat and addition to the variation.

Aloha

Might the SD taste like oranges? I got my first taste of Himalaya Orange Diesel the other day which I gather is an auto Kush/SD and was pleasantly surprised at just how orangey it was.

Looks like you're going to have a big and beautiful garden this year anyway :)

I don't think it will taste like oranges, but it does remain to be seen what the flavor profile will be. That's what I'm quite excited to find out. :cheer:

:thanks:

Just wanted to point out the following strains from the recent update, in the order of the following pictures, the strains are 1) Underdawg, 2) Blackberry, and 3) Swiss Cheese

:circle-of-love:

They look like they will be some nice bushes for sure. Imagining what they will look like in the future, and I see Underdawg as the tall beautiful reacher, Blackberry the filled in cola girl, and Swiss Cheese the artistic one, pure symmetry :circle-of-love:

Thank you my friend :thanks: So far everything is right on track. If I'm lucky, the only problem I'll have is them being too big for the tent, but I can probably figure that part out ;)

It appears that a few of the plants (especially the Swiss Cheese, and Underdawg) are starting to flower. It was what I was afraid would happen, especially after vegging them under 24/0 for so long, and only a few weeks of 18/6 to desensitize them to the dark. I'm trying to decide if I want to force flower some plants, or just let them grow naturally through the summer (must go through some revegetation).

I've had them do this before, once, they began to flower, I let them revegetate, they did turn into some of the most beautiful plants I'd grown. So it didn't make much a difference in the end, but I hate to see 'em have to be so confused. I guess it's not a disaster, but I might try and build a blackout chamber, since I used to use the vegging area to do it. The vegging area is occupied with the clones so it's not an option. It might be nice to get some nice summer flowers while these clones root, and then could be released in time for fall flowering after a potential summer harvest , either that or I just let them grow naturally and reveg at some point.

Still weighing my options :volcano-smiley:

RL...to reveg or not to reveg, that is the question! I took some of my clones from flowering plants outdoors, they started to reveg inside after they threw out roots and were put into soil, now they are outside and should go into full veg soon I hope. The outside flowering plants were starting to reveg so they all got harvested and replaced with clones. Confused??? I think my plants might be too! I revegged after harvesting last year (did not harvest and replace like this year)and got a pretty good harvest both times. This year looks like it will be much better. Good luck with the girls RL! :cheesygrinsmiley:
