Radogast's Hi-Brix Basement Grow - New Location - New Soil - New Experiences

So cool Rad! Bring on the music. :high-five:

Rad...... Your girls are looking fabulous! Trademark look of the system. It's amazing how all our plants take on the same energy and basic structure. Fascinating.

Repotting day for Amherst Sour Diesel and AK47

I decided to repot the two largest girls, Amherst Sour Diesel and AK47.

AK47, got the first pot, a 10 gal Geopot.
AK47 has yellowing leaves which started after I accidentlly splattered most of the foliar feed for 4 plants on just her in big drops of water.
Maybe she's just hungrier.

I scratched and tore the rootball a bit with my fingers - then sprinkled Roots! on the roots and soil beneath
then backfilling and immersing the pot in Transplant water (15ml per 3 gallons.)
AK47 drank about 3 gallons in 30 minutes.

Amherst Sour Diesel went into a 7 gallon Geopot. I didn't plan for her to get a smaller pot, she just did. She drank about 3.5 gallons.

Buddha's Gift w/ladybug. I am planning to repot her soon, but I need to make some space choices with the non-420 pots

Here you can see the different heights under the one lamp.

20170102_212616-1.jpg

For now, I manage the heights difference by tilting the light. I can't tilt the light effectively when I transplant the next two girls.
I'll need to manage heights another way

Since I am spending most of my time in the veg stall, I also hung a couple of satellite speakers.

Looking good in there! Can't wait until my grow area doesn't have to be so stealthy...love the speakers.

Your girls are starting to really come on now!

In my little world I keep things simple.
The veg tent has a piece of wood (1x6) sitting on top of 2 paint cans. It forms a shelf along the side that I put smaller plants on. It's also right next to some LED side lighting.
The bloom room is simpler... just the old paint cans as plant stands.

Find some simple shelving of some sort and put the plants up higher.
I have plants at various stages. This gives me some challenges when trying to keep an even canopy but I've got a nice even canopy from a touch of jackleg engineering.... it sure doesn't need to be fancy.

note 1x6 along right side... a little left over from a deck construction project.

I've got a pile of under 2ft 1x6's left over from the previous owner - I might just skip the paint cans and stack 1x6 :)

The challenge today is to fit all the pots (including the non-420) onto my 3x2' tray. I think I can puzzle them together if I cold storage what hasn't sprouted and move the mint upstairs.

0 degrees when I took out the recycling this morning - so I'm not complaining about my little warm area for plants. !

Good morning! Just wanted to give you a heads up, I just got your pm. And, I sent one back. To cool bro. Love the Grow Room and how it's coming along. I'll keep in touch.

Bumble's Humble Hive! It's Alive

Peaceful blazing

I saw your PM and raised you a Gmail. Your move :)

Hey there Rad - Happy new years... got a good chuckle on the Xmas R-R-R Rum Party... yeah that would have been perfect if the game was the Pirates of the Caribbean version. We actually watched one of those movies I think the first or 2nd one on Xmas day...

Rrrrrr pass me the rum matey. :thumb:

I think your transplant timing was perfect. It gets difficult to transplant the larger the plant, when the roots are holding all of the soil together it's much easier on the plant and you. Your girls won't even skip a beat.

I saw that you are sprinkling mycos on the root ball.. which version are you using??

I use VAM and Great White.... I read a lot about all the different versions and actually think the Great White works well... I've had plants/clones with the VAM get overwhelmed and die on me... then others do very well.... and read the Great White was over priced blah blah.. Oh maybe you have something from Doc ... ?

I've got a large grouping of seedlings going now.. next transplant I'm going to mark the pots with which Mycos I used and see if I get a pattern emerge.

Anyways... garden looks green and healthy... many wishes for a bountiful harvest and good health to you and yours in the new year! :Namaste:

Cheers matey!

thanks bob...
I am indeed using the Doc Bud kit. I remember talking with a 30s seller of mycos who sold only glomus intraradices raised for generations in the packed earth along the highway. Sturdy stock. Reasonable price. For decades his father sold the bycos to farmers of nut trees and fruit trees ... And I lost his business card and forgot the name of the product - - So I'm gowing with Doc Bud's Kit. My kind of brain does better with adult supervision

Cheers fine sir !

Pictures from yesterday, 1 of each of 7 seeds

I started a home mixed Tangerine Widow in water. The sprouting seed pausing for a photo op before entering the soil.

Ace seeds 'Ace Mix' -11 days old

Ace seeds Lily. She was laying almost flat in the wind. I moved her to a more sheltered location. Over 3 days, I propped her up.

AMS Borderliner - About 65 days old and ready for transplant

HSO Buddha's Gift - Also 65 and ready for transplant :)

HSO Amherst Sour Diesel - 65 - Enjoying day 3 in her larger pot

AMS AK47 - 65 - transplant day 3 - Filling in her opened center with new growth. Losing lower leaves.

Borderliner Transplant Day

Borderliner had nice green tops,

20170110_143451-1.jpg

and yellowing undergrowth.

20170110_143508-1.jpg

I cleared leaves below the canopy

20170110_144902-1.jpg

Borderliner looks happy now

20170110_144909-1.jpg

I vertically cut the the roots on 3 sides, sprinkled a generous amount of Doc Bud Roots!, and watered in the moist soil with 1/2 gal of water and 1ml of Doc Buds transplant.

Tangerine Widow (seed #2) had not yet broken the soil surface - and then I dumped T2's pot when I was positioning Borderliner under the lights in her new 10 gallon pot. Tangerine Widow is having a rough time getting started.

A good strong Growth Energy drench will fix those yellow leaves and give some vigor.

Thanks I'll bump up the GE amounts when I feed the plants with yellowing leaves.

Between this and that, I've only done 4 Brix foliar sprays since they were seeds.
I was thinking they were low on the love that your Brix solution provides.

Garden Update

It seems like not much changes in the garden, but I've clicked the lights upwards 3-4 times in the last week, so I know they are growing :)

When I opened the door to the garden, I had a pretty surprise, a non-420 flower in the center! (It's purple, but the lights are purplish, so it looks pink.)

20170116_165408-1.jpg

The older end of the veg area.

20170116_165422-1.jpg

AK47 is tallest at about 20". I'm thinking 6" more before she is ready to flower.

20170116_174423-1.jpg

Amherst Sour Diesel is second at 18". I'll probably wait for this one before any girl goes into flower.

20170116_174513-1.jpg

16" Bubba's Gift is growing oddly shaped, like a young deers antlers, but I think I'm going to stick with the antlers shape.

20170116_173320-1.jpg

14" Borderliner is just going to be shorter for awhile. She regrew her lower growth - as did AK47 and Sour Diesel.

20170116_173557-1.jpg

One of the two newest seedlings, Ace Mix, looks OK. Is she old enough to get a Brix foliar and food?

20170116_173529-1.jpg

Seedling Lily, has lots of curl/clawing. I expect she'll grow out of it.

20170116_173524-1.jpg

The Temp and humidity has been very stable. Lights are 18 hours on, 6 off.

20170117_220804-1.jpg

I placed another, 3rd Tangerine Widow seed in the same pot tonight. She is a reg seed. I'd like to grow one more plant, so I'll start another Tangerine Widow in water.

I'd sure like to see that temp up about 6 degrees and the rH to about 60......it would make a big difference.
