Radogast's First Indoor Seed Grow - In Search of Mothers

Wow what a read your grow has been so far. I am right behind you in may ways I and I must admit I would have never though of the staple, and it looks like she is holding. I too am finding boys and after so many days of care it is hard to just kill them. From now on it will be female seeds or nothing. I look forward to seeing your girls come of age. Sweet, Sticky, what more could you ask for. Good Grow.
First Grow and It Shows

Photo update.

White Widow Denise on the left, Carmelicious Quiffa on the right. 17 days in 12/12.
Denise seems to have stopped her stretch.
Quiffa and Denise are starting to fill in the long gaps between terminal flowering nodes.

Carmelicious Sassy and White Widow Bellatrix.

Sassy spent a few days in the dark side of the flowering room since she was slow to show she was a girl.
I am counting her time as 1 week in flower.
She has not tried to stretch but is loading up with flowers on terminal nodes 3/4" apart or less.

Bellatrix is only 4 days in 12/12. She had a rough time when I did severe defoliation and placed her under a scrog for a few days, planning to veg her for 4 more weeks, then changed my mind and threw her into flower without scrog. She is in shock and not doing much of anything. She is adding a few small flowers.

FYI: Those bud photos are on the branch I snapped :)

Welcome sailingcrazy and thanks:thankyou:

I went over to your thread earlier today planning to urge you to give your buds extra time to be sure. But they sure don't look like girls!
One of those pre-flowers looks more like it belongs on a mint plant. So I figure I sure don't know enough to advise you :)

I have enjoyed sailing a couple different years in my life. High School and early college years in Sunfish, and cat boats on the lake. 27-30 foot light keyboards like Catalina on San Francisco Bay. Most recently I spent a summer sailing a beat up 70s Laser in the Charles River and Boston Harbour whenever the wind blew after work.

Rolled from the first baggie I ever purchased, 35 years ago.

I figured I'd I ever opened a business, I would frame it and hang it on the wall :)

I find it f*kn awesome that you have kept that joint as long as i've been on this earth ! i wouldn't have the will power it would have been smoked in hard times ! lol

You growers are saying nice things, but I'm starting to get nervous about all the leaf yellow.
I'm down about 20% of my leaves after 3 weeks in flower for the stretchy two girls. At this pace, I'll be out of leaves by week 8.

I was slow on the nutes and am now pushing them a little harder, but I feel I need something (CalMag?) to catch up with the stuff my flowers are taking from the leaves.

Wouldn't even have to be hard times . "shit that joint is already rolled, spark it up" hahahah

Yeah the yellowing should be a concern this early on. Looks like possibly a Nitrogen deficiency (but who really knows for sure). I would increase your nutrient strength. I second Stumpeds question.

What nutes and how much are you using?

BioBizz BioGrow 1ml/liter, BioBloom 2 ml/liter, BioBizz TopMax 1 ml/liter - our whatever was in the nutrient chart for week 3.

In week 1 I had no TopMax and I was showing leaf spots -better now.
For week 1 and 2 I only added nutes to the first 4 liters per plant.

My yellow leaves are hanging on this week, only two leaves actually fell off, so maybe the girls are holding their own.

20% was paranoid bu??sh!t
Keeping it in perspective, this is a bottom and top picture from the same plant. I've probably lost 2% of leaves, mostly lower some middle.

My Top-Max has calcium and magnesium, so I'll bump up the Top-Max :)

Notice how the lower leaves below the main canopy are the ones dying off, they get very little light and are basically useless to the plant. It is normal to see yellowing of the lower leaves during flower, and eventually a synchronized fade of the the leaves. I would defoliate/pluck off all those dead and dying leaves underneath the canopy, they have performed their function. With a little tender loving care, and a little more fertilizer to see her through, I'm sure she'll be fine :thumb:

I plucked the other two girls who are yellowing. Sassy is hanging on to her leaves, so I decided to wait another 24 hrs

Hey Radogast, sounds like you're getting some good advice, in perspective, it isn't as bad as you first feared and some of the leaves did look like they were needing some cal/mag(brown spots/patches and tips curling). Overall they look Great my friend! Outstanding Job!! Reps to you brotha.

Thanks for the support. I've got peppers that died outside and seeds that just aren't germinating, but somehow this garden leads to anxiety.
The family is all watching. "Are you going to grow good medicine, or are we going to spend hundreds with dealers this summer?"
THEY are supportive and say "looking good!" My brain supplies the anxiety :(
