Prof's Lab: Diary Of A Bedroom Farmer

Crumbled Lime #1....

Another short plant with solid flower formations and good branching. It has a short Bubba Kush feel to it and has the golf ball nodal spacing look. The smell is like a sweet OG with a skunky tropical twist. She has great frost production and is slick to the touch. I got some nice scissor hash from this one. It was the second to last plant so moral was down at this point. It was quite easy to trim but my energy levels were sapped lol. I tried some of the hash today and it is very nice. It is sweet but also has a serious kick to it. The OG definitely shines through....

Crumbled Lime #2....

Finally we have the CL #2. I love this plant. It is very different to her sister and stands tall with beautiful flowers right down her stems. I had a finish line burst of energy for this one and found it to be a nice plant to trim. She is even greasier than the other one and smell better too. It is a strong perfume with citrus tones. I am not sure which will yield more. This one or the first. I would guess the first but I have chosen this one for a re-veg as it is just too nice. I nearly took the first as well but talked myself out of it. I've yet to try the scissor hash from this one so I don't know what it tastes like. I'm sure that it will be fantastic....

Like I said. It got late and these pics show how it started out well but then just got lazy lol. I was being neat until I couldn't see anymore. After this I did the fastest bud wash in my life and ate a cheese sandwich. I then smoked a Hoe down scissor hash and was KO'd....

Next up we have some pics of the plants I set up to be re-vegged but I have to have dinner first and then I might fall asleep lol.

Here is what I did earlier.

I really wanted to keep a couple of these so I thought I'd give re-vegging a go. I don't have the space for any of the 3 I selected to fit in the tent because of the pots they are in. I needed to get them into some smaller pots.

I used my hands to scoop out the root ball. I literally dug down and around in one scoop and pulled the plant and a good lump of the root matter and medium out with it....
DSC02196.JPG

I then gently shook the plant until most of the coco had fallen off the roots....
DSC02197.JPG
DSC02198.JPG
DSC02199.JPG

I filled one of my small square pots up about a third of the way with coco and put the root mass inside. I give it a little twist as the roots go in....
DSC02200.JPG

That is then topped up with fresh coco and watered with a veg appropriate amount of nutrients ph'd to 5.7....
DSC02201.JPG
DSC02203.JPG

And that is the Double D's done. From an 11 litre pot to a 500ml pot lol....
DSC02204.JPG

The veg tent is looking much more busy than it did the other day....

Congratulations on the harvest and trim! What a gargantuan amount of labour :goof:

I look forward to watching the re-veg process. :thumb:

I've always wondered about transplanting this way, plant and roots only. How big a shock is this for the plant? Would it handle this better or worse as it gets older?

Thanks. You can be much tougher with root balls than most people think. Provided the plant is growing healthily then you can cut roots like you would leaves. I have pruned roots with a bread knife before as it works well as a saw. I don't know how these will turn out. They may just die after a week or so but hopefully we will see some new growth eventually.
Wow, impressive feat Professor! Congratulations on the harvests and reveg project.:popcorn:
Thank you HH. I'm enjoying the brief quiet time before setting up the Barneys auto grow.
I hope they re-veg as both are just awesome plants. The Hoe down is a low yielder but after seeing her grow I know that I can fit lots of them together. She is also one of those plants where the lowers just seem to grow even without adequate lighting.
Shhhhh.....he's sleeping. Lol
He's all tuckered out.
Sleep tight, Peanut.:hugs::love:

You know me too well lol. I'm still feeling it 2 days later. Mr H never showed up so I had to do it all by myself

There is no hiding Kush genetics ever. This is why I love dirty kush. My guilty pleasure right there. I can go as tropical as carmen Miranda's hats on strains but the dirty Kush that is always tucked away somewhere will always grab me. Nom nom prof. Rhis Fgs has that filth taste right now . Jarring will try to hide it but ...

It is great stuff. The Crumbled Lime #1 has got a real funk kick to it. There is a real sweet side to it as well though and it works together really nicely.

Dry weights coming up shortly. I removed the buds from the stems and laid them out on brown paper to get that last little bit of moisture out. I've jarred them up and am currently in the process burping them....

Nice haul proof. Now the waiting , always the waiting.lol
Just reading "crumbled lime" and I can taste it oddly enough. Been curious on that strain and the Macron. Seen it grown a few times now. Good luck on the cure Prof. Thankfully cooled a little now so can control the drying here a little better now. Thankfully my FGS has took a little moisture back from the bovedas and is only just touching the "too dry' arena. I am part way through harvest with 3 left to take down. The drying in place needed cutting short as the 8th approaches!. Lol. fingers crossed for a good cure buddy. Some nice variety to hide from the M.I.L now though.heehee

Hey 420. I have the final weights from the 200w, bottom fed coco grow. Lets get these out of the way first.

Crumbled Lime #1....37g
Crumbled Lime #2....42g
Hoe Down....28g
StarCake....42g
Phantom Cookies Domina....61g
French Macaron....33g
Double D's....24g

Total Yield....265g

Not bad at all for 200w of power. Just like with the Barneys harvest result I feel that I could have done much better if some of the plants had performed well. In this grow we lost an entire plant at the very beginning which caused a dent and we also had a stunted plant and a low yielder. My problem is that I always run multiple strains from seed and end up rather unsurprisingly with a mixed tent. Still though, It is a pretty good and economical score.
The little experiment to see what would happen is I didn't flush the fabric pots at all has shown us that you will get very dirty pots. The plants seem completely unfazed by the nutrient build up within the medium. I dont feel like I got lucky as all 7 plants were pretty good at the end and showed less damage than normal. I have sampled everything now and all seems good and the flowers are of a high quality. The taste on most is pretty amazing and a few are super potent. I have had a couple good nights of sleep and I've only been sampling off-cuts.
Here is the crop all jarred up....

I'll get some pics up as soon as I've finished sorting out the next grow.
Stay safe everybody

You've been busy Prof! Congrats on the harvest and the new seeds, can't believe I'm saying this but I hope you find a couple of dudes lol. Good luck with the reveg the Double D and the Crumbled Lime definitely look like they are worth the effort. Hope your well buddy.

Thanks GG. I'm glad that it is all in the jars as it is so humid now. The good weather has just disappeared. The CL tastes amazing. Both are slightly different though. The first has a funky OG kick and the second has a more floral vibe. The Macaron is very nice as well but there were few in there which outshined it in my opinion.
Nicely done Professor! You almost outdid yourself this time ;)
:Namaste:
Lol. Almost Mr S. Maybe next time. Thanks MrS

Good to see you again N. I have some updates to bring everyone up to date coming up today. Ive been on light duties this week on 420 but have been busy as hell at home.

Like I just said to N. Hopefully later I can post a few updates on how things are coming along. Its been a busy week in the garden and I've been having both internet issues and camera issues. I have managed to get some pics from throughout the week which I'll put up later. The 3 new seedlings are all looking good and need their feed strength raised. No damping off this time thankfully. The 3 revegging plants are fading and going very dark. They're under 24 hours of light and are being fed at veg strength. That's all I can do for them I guess. They're not dead yet so we're winning for now. Another thing to mention is that the brother in law came down for a visit as lockdown is easing. He just sat in the garden for a few hours. He enquired about some plants so I gave him the TB and CJ mother plants. He doesn't have much money and lost his seedling to mould so I felt for him. I will do an update on the flowering plants later.

Hope you've all been staying safe and looking after each other.
