Producing Feminized Seeds Using Colloidal Silver

Cleaning everything and continuing allowed me to reach a ppm of 25 before I shorted the silver and ruined the whole batch. For some reason while trying to get the silver as close as possible, I allowed one piece to go under the other one. When a buildup occurred on the upper one, it bubbled out and touched the bottom one. I was smoking a doobie as it occurred and heard the slight buzzing immediately, but the batch was already turned green-black and was garbage. The ppm was 39, but I dunno how much of that was contamination so I just tossed the whole lot and began again on a much smaller batch.
Still, 18-20 ppm and I hit that ceiling again.
It will be interesting to see how the batteries do, I just need to go out and get a few.

Actually Granny, I was hoping it might be ok for me to post a few pictures and ask what you think about the look of these tops at 18 or so days of CS. I think it is working and am getting more excited every time I look at them. I try not to open their box except for the morning spray and inspection, but tonight I took a few pics hoping to get your opinion(s).
I don't think you would mind, but I can't just go posting pics in your journal now, that would not be polite of me at all.
2 and a half hours later, and the ppm seems to have dropped from 20 to 18... Particles combining I can only assume? Anyways, test complete. Verdict, Imma get myself some 9 volt batteries and test again. ;) Thanks again ;)

That was a day or two ago. They are even more pronounced now. I am almost sure it is working.
What do you think?
The CS used is about 20 ppm sprayed once per day at lights on.

One plant is the strain "Fucking Incredible" and the other is unknown, from a potpourri mix. Both from VISC. Clones are finishing rooting and beginning vegging, and awaiting pollen. ;)

:thumb: YES!!!!:high-five:

Absolutely working!!!! You have your choice now of continuing spraying until no more new pistils (hairs) are sprouting (entire plant will turn competely everywhere), or you could stop now and you may have a few flowering parts on the plant too. But definitely you have success!!!

GREAT JOB!!!!

CONGRATULATIONS!!!

Well, those plants only got treated on their top 2 or 3 nodes. The rest of the bottoms of those plants are the unsprayed shots. I was hoping to self them, but considering the time needed to produce pollen plus the time needed to make seed, I decided to pollinate some of the clones instead of selfing. But you know I really don't know what I will be doing... lol. We will see when it happens.
Either way, very cool experiment.
I still have a little spray, maybe for 2 or 3 more days. Then I will stop. In around the 22 day period.
Thanks so much again Granny. And everyone else too...

Like you, I don't always need to know how(but damn if it don't still like to), as long as it works, I'm just continually amazed at things that these plants can do, like growing 2 protrusions wherever you lop off one, or turning male from lighting changes, or just general stress. To hear that one sexual organism can be both male and female at the same time? WTF?? What about the inbreeding issue? If animals even get as close as siblings mating, there are horrible deformations, does this type of genetic inbreeding sickness not affect plants? Can you imagine the aberration that would be created if we ever injected a woman's DNA into a sperm cell and fertilized her with it?
Either way, I'm in for the ride, and wish you the best of luck!

Pick an especially fine woman for the above experiment please!

Hi Honey! :high-five:

Irish (or someone!) had asked about spraying the top of the plant and I thought the spray would mist down on the remainder of the plant - but evidently it worked for you!

I don't know what I'm doing either, so you are in great company!!!

I am kind of liking the plants that have both pollen sacs and flowering parts both on the same bud. I have a few of those and am going to grow them out to see if they develop seeds. If they do, this whole process could be completed on ONE plant and sprayed for a shorter amount of time (like most of those both-sex buds were).

Great to see you!!!

If I was a bit younger (not menopausal) - that woman would be ME!!
RIGHT?????? (ya best ALL say YES!!!) LOL
:rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl:

I agree, That would be convenient to say the least. And the less distance pollen needs to travel the better. Just need to find the right amount of spray time I suppose ;)
And my plants are LST'd, so the "top" is only really the "tip" . It is not over the bottom of the plant so to speak ;)
I would love for those plants to self pollinate. I look every morning for pollen...
How long should I expect to wait before pollen should be ready?

"Yes" --- given those stipulations... ;)

UPDATE - STILL WAITING!!!

Okay... I had some DUMB/bad luck - but it has taught me something!!!

The first plant I turned, I took the pollen at about 3 weeks after seeing the sacs. The sacs were yellowing and did not ever open. I opened them myself and pollinated the waiting female... or so I thought. It was the third female of the strain I had pollinated, with the first two being pollinated with regular male pollen that was shed from the male (regular seeds collected - positive pollination - have plants growing from those seeds). The third female I pollinated with the female pollen I collected was way into flowering when pollinated. When the pistils died back after this pollination and the calyx pods became prominent, I THOUGHT it had gotten pollinated - NOT.

I harvested that plant late last week and let her dry... only to discover I didn't have a single seed in it! UGH!!! I let it go way past harvest time waiting for seeds that didn't exist!!! EGADS!!!

What a dufus here!!! What's more - I am not even sure how to spell dufus!!! LOL!!!!!

The last week and a half I have taken pics, taken pollen sacs (from auto cream caramel and auto blueberry), used fresh and dried pollen collected, and pollinated a branch or two of each of the waiting females. No pollination to this point. I waited for changes showing she was pollinated and did not see any. I will not upload pics until I know there is success and that the pics are pertinent.

So... now I went back and searched to find the article I read originally about how to do colloidal silver in the hopes that the info included a bit about WHEN to take the pollen. I sure do hope the pics I add in the end will be a lot more helpful to others than just plain text is!!! But, after re-reading, I will copy below the important portions that deal with taking the pollen...

*********start copy***********
You need to let the sacs swell like a big empty balloon. You will be able to tell when they are about to open because the leaf section protecting the pollen starts to crack. At this point, simply take the pollen sacs off and place them in a cool dry place for a week and let them start to dry. The pollen will come out if you shake them about a little, or you can also cut open the sacs to get to the pollen inside. Use this pollen to pollinate female plants and you will get all-female seeds that are a mix of both their mothers.
*********end copy***********

I keep examining the sacs on all plants and a rare few are starting to show a bit of age and possible cracking, but the majority are still growing bigger, green to yellow, and closed. I have taken a few of the more mature sacs in my attempts to pollinate, but no pollination success yet...

So... here I sit, still waiting for the right time.

I am going to grow a few plants out (separated from my main girls tho, as they already are now) that have both pollen sacs and pistils within the same buds. I am curious to see if a few seeds will develop within those buds. If they do, my concept of how to use CS will change to a much easier method of spraying for less time and doing it all on one plant. The plants that have both within the same buds are plants I started spraying all of and then changed at day 8, so the buds were not sprayed as long... and the plants that were so dense with growth that maybe I didn't get all sites sprayed... or the plants I stopped spraying when I saw the sacs on the lower part of the plant but the upper area grew more pistils after I quit spraying. Anyhoo - there are a number of plants I can take pollen from to pollinate the waiting females AND I can let the male/female buds finish growing out too.

I am disappointed that my first female pollen pollination was NOT successful (still great smoke tho - so not all it lost)! I was going to take pics of the seeds... but to my surprise there are NONE! However, I am SO glad it was just one strain and that I already had regular seeds of that strain anyway.
It taught me NOT to get in too much of a hurry here at this extremely important stage of the process! I hope it teaches everyone else too!!!

Experience is the BEST teacher. :-) I sure am glad I haven't portrayed to anyone reading this that I was an expert, eh?!?!!! LOL! I am sure not giving up tho - just gotta figure out the RIGHT time to take the pollen!!!

If you read my reply to Quix - I don't think I know WHAT I'm saying!!!

:rofl::rofl::rofl:

So wonderful to see you again, honey! Did you get your answers from Irish? On the first page of this journal I showed a pic of the CS I used and included a pic with their website on it
if you want to buy - it is also listed in amazon thru this seller (where I found and buy it).

:Love::Love::Love::circle-of-love:LUVIES HONEY!:circle-of-love::Love::Love::Love:

Hey Granny... I just saw your reply today. I dont think I asked him in his thread. I just went ahead and ordered the 220ppm silver. Im gonna try diluteing it down to 30 - 50 ppm with my PPM tester and see if it doesnt work for me. See if I cant get me some chocolope X Powerplant going.

Tell ya sompin funny....I have chocolope that does not have hermie traits so I consider her stable as she will even go extra week or 2 without nanners. I tried foilier feeding her some week watered down flower booster (snowstorm ultra) and she hermied all over the place. No nanners showed up...just polin sacs. This was after 1 spraying. I would say that she needs little stress to induce a hermie as she grew fine before. My flower room is a stress free room with constant temp and humidity and is watched very closely for light leaks so I know this is what caused it. I even have some seeds in my other plants from this this grow. Powerplant...raspberry cough...Kandy Kush. It would be intresting to grow some of these with that racy chocolope buzz and melon taste added.

I have a clone that will be setup in my closet to make pollen sacks for my first test at doing this. I may do a journal to document it...or just update in your great thread you have going here if thats ok with you.

Really like the cheery mood in all your posts. You must be a really happy person I would bet.

My intention is to wait until I can see pollen on the leafs before I take any, but if they don't open naturally,,, that won't work. I was literally hoping to bag the "tip" aka "sprayed sections" and shake away, containing the pollen in the bag.
Did your sacks never open at all? or maybe you didn't wait long enough?

Note on the CS. I was at the dollar store and bought one of those huge flashlight type 6 volt batteries. Worked like a charm at making the CS. Still I am capped so to speak at 18 ppm, but I am sure it has to do with the amount of exposed silver in water. A coin or the like would increase that surface area exposed by 50 at least.
Just wanted to report that the $3 6volt flashlight battery works just fine in place of the 3 9 volts... ;)

What was the cost of your CS you two?
Total cost to make what we need (20ppm or so) for me was $3 for the battery, and $15 for the silver. That's enough to make I would say 10 liters at least. If you used coins or such, they would probably last your lifetime of personal use. I dunno how long the battery will last, but i bet it is a lot longer than the 9 volts will...

So, how much did it cost to purchase your 500ml or so bottles?

Hi Granny420!! Wow is all I can say... sorry to hear about your one lady that budded out and only gave you some nice smoke lmao I would like that problem all day :). I know you will get the results that you are looking for from the spirit that you display within this journal as well as others that I've seen you post in :circle-of-love: I won't be able to offer anything to help this grow but I would like to see how things turn out for you and no doubt I will be using your journal as a reference piece when I decide to work out my own strains in the future :thumb: This is some amazing stuff that can give you and others outrageous strains to grow, which will move alot of us to join the ranks of producing your own feminize seed and breeding your own ladies. :bravo::thankyou:

Just keep on trying Granny, that's how we all learn. If it worked the first time, fem seed wouldn't cost what they do.

Hi Honey!!! :high-five:

I LST my plants too - but not these plants. Instead, I started all these CS treated plants as small as possible so they didn't take much room... of course, they didn't all cooperate on being short, but those are the plants that were NOT treated on the top.

Time expected... in my update today I will figure out the time I am at now with the first plants - so please check it out!!!

"Yes" is the BESTEST answer! LOL!

So wonderful to see you again, honey!!! :high-five:

I WANT CHOCOLOPE!!!! OMM has that one going too - but seeds have not ever been available when I have been purchasing. I did buy some Pre98 Bubba seeds that are supposed to smell/taste like chocolate coffee hash oil... I will see in about 10 weeks cuz she is in the veg room at present.

The Auto Kush in this experiment put out male preflowers almost instantly upon being sprayed. The rest all showed female preflowers for quite some time. I took it that this plant may have hermie traits, but do not know this. I *almost* culled it from the bunch, but didn't... and it is the first to have a pollen sac open (will be in my update today). I read that some plants will turn easily, while others take longer. So how long each strain takes is variable.

YES - YOU ARE :welcome: TO ADD YOUR CS EXPERIMENT INFO HERE where all can learn from it (the purpose of the journal)... or if you prefer your own journal - please make sure you add a link to it from here!!!

And gees... :thanks: so much for your nice comments... :hugs: I bet if you ask my hubby how cheerful I am, he may disagree with you!!! LOL And if ya ask OMM or Siscokid (& others) if I ever go on a rant - they'll tell you they don't want to piss me off!:rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl: They may even mention Granny's got a gun and knows how to use it!!! (groundhogs moved into our basement and hubby did nothing while the family grew)

But in all reality... I am a harmless ol' biker lady (unless yer a groundhog) who loves her children and their families so very very much - they are my world. But my family here and my love of mj sure are a wonderful runners up!!! I sure love so many of the folks here.:Love::Love::Love::Love::Love::Love::Love::Love::Love:
Now I went and got all sentimental *happy tears*...

I best git my shit together and get on with replies and then an update with pics of changes beginning again!!!

Like :Love::Love::Love::Love:Cona:Love::Love::Love::Love::Love: said... Cost of CS... I would have to look at my receipts, but I think with shipping it was under $20 via amazon purchase for 16oz bottles. I read a lot about making my own CS - but didn't want to mess it up and I was in a hurry to get started. I took the easy, but probably more expensive, way out! :-) I had read newer quarters are not pure silver and many other things that could be variables and just didn't want to mess with possibly messing it up... and yes, it was easier for me to just purchase what I needed. For what I have spent on seeds, the cost for CS was minimal!!
