Thank you very much. For the fantastic detailed updates.

:Love::Love::Love::Love::Love:realcarlos:Love::Love::Love::Love::Love:

You are welcome, honey.

:thanks: for being interested!!! I hope we all learn ...

cuz I sure am lookin' forward to having my own ...

FEMALE SEEDS!!!!

And hope others are too!

I just noticed something with one of the pics and am wondering what others think... I have been thinking that the flowering pod (calyx) with hairs (pistils) has rounded with the CS changes...

but with this picture, it appears the female pollen sacs rise out of a split pod (calyx)...

Please let me know what you all think? see?

Does it look like the pod splits and the new female pollen sacs sprout out of it?

Doesn't really matter how it happens, but that sure is what it looks like to me now!

Thats what it looks like to me. I just chopped an AK47 girl last night that i let go way to long (about 12 weeks)...it had a few buds that did that. I will try to find it and grab you a pic tonight.

AWESOME UPDATES GRANNY!!
Thanks for the nice detailed description of what you mean about hermies. I do believe we were on the same page, we just have different terminology, nothing wrong with that (Except I get fonfused by it lol)

Good catch on that last pic, it DOES appear that the male flower(Female pollen sac lol) is emerging from within the calyx! That explains a lot for me, as this was kind of the question I was asking before! I too have had hermies, but the "banannas" showed up from the middle of the bud, not the tip like that, which made it impossible to see how they actually develop.
In my opinion, a hermie is a hermie, regardles of how it came to be, i.e. through environmental stress, or genetic predisposition.
C.S. treatment falls under the category of "environmental stress", which, will not pass on to the future generations(at least not as easily) wheras a NATURAL hermie will herm without stress, like you said. But to me, a hermie is just a female plant that throws pollen sacs as a survival mechanism....

Again Granny, GREAT thread and thanks again for journaling this!!
Nice pics too, looks like youre getting the hang of that new camera just fine!:high-five:
:Namaste:-Quix

Looking straight Granny, I can't tell what that is doing... :scratchinghead:

:Love::Love::Love::Love::Love:SISCO!!:Love::Love::Love::Love::Love:

Hmmm.... I think the problem is that yer STRAIGHT!!! Try smokin' a fatty and try lookin' again... then no matter whatcha see, it'll all be GREAT!! :tokin:

Yep - that is another method I read could produce female seeds, but it is not as reliable/consistent in the results. I like to flower my girls extra long (love a body high) and have had a number of strains throw bananas late in flowering. My AK47 was one of them but it also had hermie traits cuz when I took two clones off that plant (before it ever grew any bananas), one of them changed completely (looked male) and ended up with not a single flower on it, yet the mom and sister didn't show bananas until late in flowering. Go figure!

Did ya get the pic? Upload away, honey! :high-five:

Hi Honey!!! I'm just so glad I'm not the only one who gets confused!!! LOL

Yes, now I understand how our thinking was confusing to each other!!! LOL It's all GOOD tho cuz now we are on the same page, even if our terms are different!!! Don't worry - I confuse my hubby, children, grandchildren, staff, and friends... so yer in GREAT COMPANY!!! :high-five:

I really looked at a number of the growth sites on the plants and it does appear that the calyx splits and the new pollen sacs grow right outta them. I think when I've taken flowering clones and put them in veg that they have done this type of thing too, but with new growth of leaves instead of pollen sacs.

And :thanks::thankyou::thanks: honey for such nice comments. I am getting the hang of the new camera but it just doesn't quite do what the old one did. I'm still working on getting the custom light settings for color... but it's coming along!

you are correct, the change takes place within the pod, then breaks out like a seed would from the pod...

:Love::Love::Love::circle-of-love::Love::Love::Love:GT:Love::Love::Love::circle-of-love::Love::Love::Love:

Yep... further examination of many leaves me pretty sure this is just what happens.

Hi honey!!! I'm so glad you wrote... cuz I often see you have visited without leaving any message (I do this too!)... and I send wonderful thoughts your way every time I see you've been here!!!!!!!!!

This time I get to :hugs::hugs::hugs:
GT:hugs::hugs::hugs: hug you!!!

This is Fantastic!! I look forward to your hard work! :thankyou:for sharing this valuable info.

:Love::Love::Love::Love::Love:Wingman!:Love::Love::Love::Love::Love:

Hi honey! :high-five:

Isn't this method wonderful????? I didn't know how easy it was to make your own female seeds. I am so grateful others are also finding this info "valuable".

:thankyou::thanks::thankyou: so much for your super nice comments, sweetie. So GREAT to see you!!!

Thanks for writing this up granny420. This is really interesting to see.

I am not surprised though by the structural changes as they are. Hormones simply cause them to emphasize one feature over another, thus determining whether it is a male or female organ. The male and female parts are the same primordial structure with the potential to be either. So when the chelated silver comes in contact with some hormones, it binds to them and prevents them from being active. This prevents their effect, leaving new development to be controlled by what hormones remain (or the lack thereof). This causes the plant to express differently, just like a lack of estrogen will cause 'mannish' features in a human female (like lip hair, etc). The collateral damage you see is probably the result of the silver also binding to other hormones and compounds and starving the plant of those as well.

Not that I have a degree in biology or anything, but that's my understanding. Am I correct? I'm pretty high atm.

I just KNEW you would have an answer (and that I KNOW NOTHING! LOL).

You wonderful perverted PIMP! :rofl: It sounds like you're going to have plenty of seeds too!!! As mine develop pollen sacs, I am separating them to their red zone too... it's the "other" upstairs in a closet.

I've lurked a bit in your journal, but was still behind when I ran outta lurking time! As you can see tho (response to Cona_, YOU ARE ALWAYS ON MY MIND!!! I promise I'll catch up with yours as soon as I can, but time is lacking at the moment and I gotta do justice to the purpose of this journal - those pics sure are time consuming! But hopefully they will help others who attempt this procedure. :-)

SO WONDERFUL TO SEE YOU!!!

i hope it does help lol i got behind on your journal too dont feel bad, well i went crazy today and ordered nutes from blue planet nutrients what a great guy!! AND I ORDERED SEEDS!! 11 new strains from Castle seeds i listed em'off in my journal!:Namaste:so when you get time you can see what i'll be growing soon!! things are progressing nicely in here!! :welldone:

Hey granny. A friend and myself sat down to a big pile of ak47 buds with the idea that it wouldnt take that long to find the hermi...The problem was the bong was within reach and well...it wasnt long before we both forgot what the mission was RoorRip:rofl:

Hello Granny, new user to this community thanks to this very nice thread!
I was hoping to clear something up that I did not seem to read in this thread.
I am about 10 days into my own use of CS. I made it myself and I am not sure if it is working yet. The hairs are dying, and re growing which is good. I have another week or two to know for sure. But my question is with the CS you purchased.
It is 50 ppm. My question is, what color is it out of the bottle? Is it clear, greyish, or very dark?
I ask because what I made began to have a tinge at 25 ppm, and this is when I stopped.
The research I had done did have that ONE guy quoted as a min of 30 ppm, but I did find several which claimed their 15 ppm worked aswell.
But the pic I saw of the homemade CS in this thread a ways back was very dark. And he had it at 61 ppm.
I am unsure if this is because of light exposure during the making, the particles are very large or if it is supposed to be so dark like that... The smaller the particles the better I thought,,, but his dark CS at 61 ppm apparently works...
So, what was the color of that which you purchased?
Great thread again.
Last summer I did my first small personal indoor grow, from clones, went great. When I completed it, I had a look around for the prices of seeds and had a little chuckle...
Making my own feminized seeds was an instant no-brainer so to speak.
Finding this thread, I will say for sure. This is the best resource I have found on the internet pertaining to this subject.
Thank you very much for this contribution.

i think you are referring to the thread i did on the subject, and i'll chime in here and clarify a bit, the cs pictured is not nearly as dark when removed from the container, that batch had not yet been run thru a cycle on the ultrasonic ,because an ultrasonic is not a common item in most folks homes, the color of that at 61 ppm is clear with a slight grey color, also it can be diluted with distilled water to what you feel is right,, i hope this is helpful,:thumb::peace:
